Lets not complain about SC costs...

I used the public charger at the Jamaican Inn at the end of May and it was twice as expensive as the superchargers in Camborne!

Auto window closing and app window control removed in the states. Hope it doesn't cross the pond.

By the sound of it the Chinese consumers are very militant and would soon be demanding a refund if that happened...

Teslas and UK ‘don’t touch your phone’ laws

Seems very much like bolting the door after the horse has bolted! Surely it would have been better to ensure that the basic functions can be performed without causing distraction.

Teslas and UK ‘don’t touch your phone’ laws

It is the one function that I wish they had stuck to a more standard method of operation. Pressing the end of the stalk is fine but if you want to switch nodes you have to focus on the screen to select the mode you want. I would vote for having the button cycle through the modes that would...

Teslas and UK ‘don’t touch your phone’ laws

So what happens if you have a crash while trying to turn the wipers on! That's bloody distracting, and don't say "use auto wipers" because it never seems to clear the screen quickly enough....

Charging at hotels, caravans, guesthouses, cabins etc with 3 pin plug

I only take the granny charger to use in an emergency, if possible I charge at a fast charger. On our trip to the lakes it proved to be relatively easy and stress free.

    UK Roadtrip Charging

We recently did a road trip from north Hampshire to Edinburgh and back via Chester, the lakes and Alnwick Castle. Used a mixture of Superchargers, Ionity and InstaVolt chargers. All worked just fine. Cost ~£150 for ~1000 miles. I used ABRP to plan the trip and charge stops.

Is it worth to try to ask Tesla to sort rattles as warranty!?

I had the same problem fixed on mine last week. The ranger fixed a couple of rattles but there is still one so I have re-booked

Tesla need to show more third party chargers

That's why it needs to be properly integrated with the navigation tool to include charger status information to avoid visiting broken chargers

Tesla need to show more third party chargers

I'm not so sure it should be so restrictive. Some places up north are very short of chargers and I would take a 50kW charge over nothing...

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

Reading that report I don't understand why Tesla don't block access to cars with incompatible charge port locations. This could be done on a site by site basis and would allow them time to add longer cables to the superchargers. And by the way, longer cables are less efficient.

    Thanks, that's good to know

    ABRP and Tesla route planner

If you use the energy app and pick the Trip tab it will give you an up to date consumption consumption chart with predicted % at the destination

    Carbon Footprint report from Volvo

Exactly Lookup Engineering Explained on youtube he did a video where he went through the numbers and included all CO2 released by the petrol refining process etc. legacy auto companies will continue to fudge the numbers to encourage those that are on the fence to continue buying their product...

Wireless charging in M3 makes phone very hot

I find that mine (an S7) turns the charging off and on again a lot. But when it is on it seems to be fast charging and quite warm!

    [UK] Octopus: Electric Juice Network

Looks great, I signed up but then when I started exploring the map I could only find locations that didn't accept juice cards! Does that mean that you have to use the app?? What I found was that there is a filter on the top right that's not included under filters. It is labeled All by default...

How to stop using home charger

Flipping the switch for the charger in the fuse box is the only resort. Unless that is you had a charger fitted with a lock, which PodPoint do supply.
  21. A

    how low will you go!?

The lowest I've seen is 7% on the way home from Cardiff in a wet and windy day

Two 'unlocks' needed to release charging cable in the morning

I'm thinking of taking a file to mine too
  23. A

Two 'unlocks' needed to release charging cable in the morning

The problem I'm seeing is not software related. It goes through the unlock process correctly and I can hear the pin clunk but it does not withdraw enough to remove the connector until I give the emergency release a tug. Makes me think it is the pin interfering with the hole in the plug so that...

Pod Point Solo charging cable plug getting stuck in M3 socket

I have a PodPoint charger and every now and then I have to use the emergency release to get the plug out of the socket.

Two 'unlocks' needed to release charging cable in the morning

Mine is a PodPoint charger... and it only happens occasionally
  28. A

Two 'unlocks' needed to release charging cable in the morning

I think that the pin can stick sometimes and even though the "T" turns white to indicate that it is ready to unplug one can't pull it out. I usually use the release tab inside the boot when that happens and it releases fine.

    Octopus Go tariff billing

Similar story here except when I contacted them they told me that the initial hand over reading was being disputed by shell. Still waiting for it to be resolved

    Tesla model 3 energy use

It's normal for the charger to see a higher consumption than the car because of the losses in the charging cable etc. Having said that I would not expect it to be a big difference. I have noticed this between the PodPoint app and the ev.energy app that I have been using but it's not huge.
  31. A

Did you know? (Charge port open/close/unlatch debate)

I get that every now and again. I used to power cycle the charger but that's not required. If the T has turned white (more like a light blue) you can unlock the cable by using the "emergency" unlock toggle in the boot, so far that has worked every time🤞

    Octopus Go tariff billing

I'm in the same position, I get a gas bill every time I submit a gas reading but nothing for electricity. BTW I have a smart meter for gas but they don't seem to be collecting the data 🤔

    Off Peak charging scheduling help

I use the ev.energy app to schedule charging during the cheep rate period. This has the advantage that each "smart charge" during that period earns a point towards getting a £5 Amazon voucher.

Phantom Braking now bad on vision only

I read recently that Elon plans to ship the "model 2" without a steering wheel relying fully on FSD, that makes me scared!

    Advice on charging

I would recommend using the ev.energy app. You can set the tariff that you are on and smart charging will then control the charging so that it only charges in the cheep rate window....

    small roads question

I find the autosteer engage/disengage bong very annoying especially when I have deliberately disengaged it! Changing lanes and using autosteer produces two bongs one on indication and another when you turn autosteer back on... Anyone know how to turn that one off? Does Joe mode influence it?

    Car needs more love

What's ABS and Engine/Transmission CPU? All my Marlin Roadster has is an electronic ignition module :D The Model 3 is the exact opposite and just as much fun to drive... that's all that matters to me.

    Road tax doom and gloom

Hmmm... so much for the tax on fuel being related to the CO2 emissions. Early in the days when global warming was becoming recognized as an issue one commentator wrote that global warming would become the next world war... an excuse for governments to raise taxes. Now that they have done that...
