What's everyones insurance renewals this year?

My renewal quote with Admiral has almost doubled! No changes since last year, and no claims either. Checked confused.com and cheapest is coming in at ~800, paid ~550 last year!

    Cost of SC gone down?

Halloween and Trick or Treating isn't in fact an American thing, it's Irish! It was however popularised in America by immigrants from Ireland!! Agree about the screwing up of our language though!!

    Significant reduction in SC pricing

Yep, charged on Friday for 35p/kwh rather than the usual off peak rate of 54p!
  4. Filbert1884

    Cost of SC gone down?

Yeah, how Black Friday has infiltrated the UK is definitely weird!

    Cost of SC gone down?

Hi all, I've been pretty much exclusively charging my car at South Mimms SC lately, and know that Tesla have introduced different charging costs based on the tine of day. After 10pm being cheaper. Last few visits the rate after 10pm has been 54p/kwh, charged up on Friday night (after 10pm) and...

Home charger, Zappi worth it if no solar?

Thanks all. I don't have any firm plans to add solar, but of course may do at some point. Tethered / smart will be the way I go, I guess I wanted to make sure that the answer wasn't "if you don't have solar, don't bother with Zappi, go for xxx instead".

Home charger, Zappi worth it if no solar?

Hi all, As part of a full house renovation, I'm going to be adding a charger at home. I'm thinking Zappi, but am open to other recommendations. If I don't have solar (at the moment) is installing a Zappi overkill? What other chargers should I be looking at? Thanks in advance.

    [UK] 2022.36

100% visualisation is a complete waste when driving IMO.
  9. Filbert1884

    [UK] 2022.36

Can't say for sure, but yes, I've noticed what appears to be inconsistent heating, used to set on 20°c and just forget about it, buy since the update, I've had to increase to 21, then 22 before getting any warm air.

    [UK] 2022.24

You have to open the app on iOS now to open your car, and you can just walk up to it? 😲 Glad I'm not affected, but just find that ridiculous if true!
  11. Filbert1884

    [UK] 2022.24

Not noticed any issues, drove down an unlit stretch of road with a 70 mph limit a couple of times near where I live, and the lights behaved themselves, coming on and off as I'd expect, perhaps still not going back to normal as quick as I'd like, but then thats always been the case. 2022.28.1...

    [UK] 2022.24

Just upgraded from 20.8 to 24.8 not driven yet, but from what I'm reading, it sounds like a step backwards when it comes to driving at night with AP.... We shall see!
  13. Filbert1884

    [UK] 2022.24

I mean the whole right hand side part including the visualisation of your own car!
  14. Filbert1884

    [UK] 2022.24

First I've heard of this! Can anyone confirm?
  15. Filbert1884

    [UK] 2022.24

Wish you could get rid of the visualisation on the right of the screen on a 3/Y, or at the very least, move the map to the right, and the useless visualisations to the left hand side.

Is is still possible to speak to Tesla?

I've had to call Tesla CS several times over the last 5 months and have spoken to someone everytime (at least 8-10 calls). When choosing options, I selected the option of 'if your car is already in one of our service centres', might be worth a shot?

    My Model 3 broke

Well, Evie is back! Felt so strange/different driving a 3 after 5 months of having an X! Definitely like having a new car again, car needs a good clean. Not surprisingly Park Royal didn't bother giving the car a clean before handing it back, so 5 months worth of dirt and spider webs need to be...

    My Model 3 broke

So I have just had a text from Park Royal to say my car is finally fixed and ready to be collected tomorrow!!! Assuming I pick it up tomorrow, and all's well that will be 5 months to the day to fix the issue, or 154 days / 22 weeks! 😱 It'll be like having a new car again! 🤞
  19. Filbert1884

    Tesla Park Royal

I certainly won't be using Park Royal again if I can avoid it, whilst not having the part my car needed isn't their fault, the overall service and level of communication (or lack of), the state of the courtesy car i've been given, not to mention false updates has seriously tainted my Tesla...

    My Model 3 broke

Hard to say, advised the part was actually due to come in to the country yesterday (Thursday), but with several false dawns I'll believe it when they actually say "your car is fixed, please come and pick it up!"
  21. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

Part is due to arrive on Tuesday next week apparently....🙄
  22. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

I recently moved into a rental property whilst my house is being renovated, and having the X has been a godsend! Still rather have my 3, but having the X has saved me having to hire a van for a week!
  23. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

I am / was fuming! Lex have said I can terminate my lease, but to get another the same spec it would cost over £100/month more than what I'm currently paying and I've been told a new 3 or Y wouldn't be delivered until Jan at the earliest. That's too long, so am just going to wait....
  24. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

They have told me I can, without any penalty, but the wait for another means I'd be without a car for too long...

    My Model 3 broke

Just a quick update, believe it or not, it's now 11th August, and my car still isn't back! That's 139 days and counting...! At least Lex have finally responded. Got some money as compensation, but nowhere near enough in my opinion... The wait continues....

    Model Y UK Delivery

Which insurer? Is that the best you got via a comparison site? Have you tried Admiral? That's who I ended up going for for my M3LR, and adding my other car saved me even more...

    Anyone gone from a 2021 M3 to a 2018 MS?

Have you considered a test drive? Only you can answer whether you'll prefer/love/dislike/hate a Model S vs your M3. Sorry, I know you're asking for opinions, but ultimately it's an individual thing, and the only way you'll know is by driving one. Lower range/slower charging speeds is a big...

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

Can't say I experienced the same thing in my 3 (Dec 22), the cruise control worked perfectly in terms of distance to the car in front....
  29. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

Yeah the free mileage is a bit of a bonus, but I'd rather have my car back which I am still paying for but have no use of. Lex Autolease could not care less, they are beyond useless and haven't done a thing since I complained in early April.
  30. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

Thanks @X-Cile , no my car still isn't back with me. Obviously, I can't say for sure, but I think our issues are different, even though it resulted in similar errors. I've been told that my issue was due to water ingress, and I need a new steering rack and wiring harness. The rack as far as I...

    Salary sacrifice Advice Appreciated

It depends on the fine print of the scheme. But in a nutshell, you pay the business lease price as per sites such as leaseloco and cars2buy (my employer's scheme doesn't restrict which broker/lease company we can get the car from), search for 1 month upfront + lease term and mileage. Let's just...

    Screen protectors: matte or not?

I have the Spigen Matte and don't think it affects the clarity of the screen at all, would 100% recommend it.
  33. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

Tell me about it! And Lex Autolease (who funded the car, and so technically are the owners of the car) haven't even allocated someone to my complaint which was raised in early April, beyond incompetant!
  34. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

Nope! Still not got it back, and from what I've been told, no chance of the part being available anytime soon either! 😭
  35. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

I rang the 0203 number for Park Royal in the pinned thread, and it went through to a central call centre, not Park Royal. Spoke to an advisor who informed me that a few SC's were showing the harness in stock, but he couldn't see/tell I'd they had been allocated to a customer job or not...
  36. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

Which SC did the work? According to my service advisor at Park Royal the harness is out of stock in the UK, maybe that isn't quite true? I've been without my car for 5 weeks now!

    My Model 3 broke

    Doh! 15/12/2021!!
  38. Filbert1884

    My Model 3 broke

@mjmherts nope! :( Still driving around in a Model X! I've reached out to my leasing company to make a complaint, basically I'm paying for a car I have no use of! They seemed receptive....let's see what happens.

    Model Y popularity

I live in Herts, just a few miles outside Greater London, and have seen at least 1 Model Y everyday for the last month or so!

    My Model 3 broke

You're not the only one, I've got the same issue, car is currently with Tesla Park Royal. I took delivery of my car on 15/12/22 and it has done 3,670 miles. Been told it needs a new steering rack and a new main front harness. Looks like it's not just restricted to the M3...

2 week old MY, Multiple Errors whilst driving - All assist functions disabled

Yeah it's a decent car (XC60) I had one from Sept 18 to Sept 21, before the Model 3 arrived!l, just not particularly engaging to drive or "fun", but a decent car overall. So sorry about the 💩 state of your car when you got it back, man I'd have lost it! I may still do when I get mine back! If...

2 week old MY, Multiple Errors whilst driving - All assist functions disabled

All sorted? Mine is still waiting for parts (I assume), but I managed to wrangle a courtesy car as of Wednesday, so currently driving around in a 67 plate X!

    Model Y lease Deals

I think Casss is referring to EAP FSD Accel Boost etc, not OTA software updates.

2 week old MY, Multiple Errors whilst driving - All assist functions disabled

Mine's in Park Royal too! Although I took the car to them on Friday, it wasn't until today the service technician looked at it (Tommy), and he told me that he'd found the root cause I'd say within an hour. Not fixed yet, as they're waiting for parts. Errors on display attached.

2 week old MY, Multiple Errors whilst driving - All assist functions disabled

Same issues started for me on 18/03 on my 3 month old 3LR. Had no issues on the 19th and 20th, but intermintently since then. Took my car to Tesla SC on Friday, have been advised today that it's water ingress on steering rack...
  47. Filbert1884

    2022.8.2

I have had the same issues. My car is currently at Tesla Service Centre Park Royal (London, UK). The service advisor said the route cause was water ingress onto the steering rack....coincidence? 🤔

Sentry Mode Events on V11 Help

Once you've opened the correct app (square ish camera icon, not the round one) then tap on the icon on the top left which looks like 3 rows of dot and dash (IIRC) and it will show you all your saved clips, both dashcam and sentry.

TezLab - The Best Third-Party Tesla App

I've been using TezLab since I got my car in December too, and can confirm I have had no issues with the app preventing the car from sleeping, or any battery drain at all, works perfectly for me! I'd recommend it too.
