Over the years, I've periodically been called by other insurers and when I say I have USAA, the reply is almost always "thank you for your time"!

Yeah, I had to update my post. I had 10+ EDD's. I made it into 4, only to be bounced out the first 3 two days in.

My saga is almost complete. May 28th order. MYLR with stock options. Final stats: 101 days to VIN 10+ EDD windows Ambiguous "October" EDD twice EDD window entered 4 times (always kicked out on day-2 with a revised window) In the end, my ever-changing EDD window went from 20 days, to 18 days...

At least in my case, when the window shortened to 10 days, I had my VIN pretty quickly. Of course, this was the 4th EDD I actually managed to enter (after countless EDD's I never reached)...

Gross. 2 days difference in order time and like a month difference in delivery. Boo.

Meaningless was a bit harsh. Sorry. But yeah, those performance models are being moved much faster. If you have high demand and finite supply, you prioritize the cars with higher margin.

This timeline is meaningless without the specifics of your build. Tesla has been delivering performance and higher-cost customized model Y's much faster than stock and lower-cost versions.

And like clockwork, I've been kicked out of my EDD window of 9/5-18. This is now the fourth time this has happened, each time occuring the day after I enter the window. New EDD is 9/9-19. Upside is the window is getting smaller each time. Downside is that is continues to be disorganized...

Ah, there's the delivery slip. Always on day-2 of hitting my EDD window... This would be the third time I've gotten into my window, only to see it move again. If it slips into November, I'll likely lock in my financing mid-month and keep my fingers crossed that I get a VIN before the approval...

Fingers crossed we get our cars this month. The debit ceiling deadline is September 30th. If it doesn't get raised and we default, this wait is going to cost some real money for anyone financing.
