You would need to pay for it and you would also need a laptop and connect to it via cable (cable depends on the car you have but most new cars now have ethernet connection)

Hmm that's a good idea also, was just curious what version was your firmware, I doubt it was 2024 though but it would definitely be interesting to see if it's not connected to a network would allow it to work, I doubt it though but no harm in trying.

If I had to guess the probably was what as added as security improvements in the 2024 firmware. Just my luck that I upgraded early, if I only I received my module earlier. Security Improvements Available Worldwide Models: S 3 X Y This update includes important security fixes and improvements.
