You should never put anybody part under any brand of Scissor jacks. Portable emergency use only, should not have to get under car to change a tire use only.

Sorry to hear the problems you've had with the jack. Scissor jacks, ideally should be put under the car parallel with the car and not perpendicular as would seem to be easier. It puts less strain on the jack with the scissors facing the front and rear of the car instead of from side to side...
