I was told the same thing except that engineering is “working on a fix”. What I want to know; are they actively seeking a solution or are they just telling us that to keep this from proceeding down a different path. If they’re working on one, fine. If they’re not; that’s a problem.

Makes sense. I’ve not done a ton of long trips but I’m learning the ropes. For instance that screenshot I attached, I got home with 35% so a 100% charge definitely isn’t needed. My example is anecdotal, for sure. But my 5 day old windshield that cracked two days ago has really got me wondering. It IS possible that the install, mfg and durability IS a Tesla problem. Just like it WAS a Subaru problem. I'm trying to see if there are any dots to connect here.

Going on 4 windshields on my MY in 15 months. Curious to know how everyone else is faring?

Well; 15 months of ownership and 19,000 miles. Last week was my third windshield replacement. Yesterday, apparently I picked up a tiny pebble and a chip and crack ensued. Hopefully Safelite and repair it, the drives to the SC are far too frequent. Am I the only one? 3 (possibly 4) windshields...

I got a message back from the service center that informed me the retrofit to enable CCS isn’t available.

It’s worth adding as a follow up here regarding my gripes…..spoke to regional service manager, he’s hooking me up with a loaner and a $500 service credit. I would have been happy with a loaner so, this is above what I’d expected. It’s a nice turn of events and I should give credit where it’s due.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want a car that keeps the water out, is it? I’m not suing anyone over it….that has nothing to do with my question about the legality of excluding certain things in its production.

@jjrandorin I have no intent, nor did I ever contemplate suing for a $140 part. Why would someone spend thousands for a $140 part? Just because that’s your interpretation doesn’t mean that was my intent.

It wasn’t necessarily that a newer car had it, it’s that older models have it. I have a 2021 LR, and I know deliveries previous to mine had it. I just didn’t realize they swapped things and out depending on the run. But, now I know!

I disagree with network coverage. I was just in a part of the country that made the trip challenging with quite a long charge stop. I arrived with 3% and had to drive rather slow to make it work. Meanwhile, I passed up two locations with ChargePoint rapid chargers on the way. To me, having CCS...

What a downer……this along with my 3rd scheduled SC visit, I’m not totally thrilled with my Tesla experience the last 11 months. Trunk leaks (still) and my driver side window intermittently stops on the way up and goes back down automatically. The no CCS compatibility is the icing on the cake.

Looking for a 10-30 OEM NEMA adaptor, will pay shipping and reasonable premium.

Has anyone checked the legality of some model Y’s having CCS compatibility and some not? I don’t understand how it’s allowed that when order a base model, same as the rest, mine doesn’t come with CCS but someone else’s does. I don’t recall a specific agreement saying this was ok, so what gives...
