Thanks all for the replies. I reached out to EVOffer and they suggested I move the striker (hook part that's bolted onto the underside of the hood; the one with two T30 screws) towards the driver's side. It worked perfect after that.

To add info to my post: 2016 75D, upgraded to 2021.24.25 yesterday. Began experiencing exact same symptoms as OP's post. I've tried doing both dash and main screen reboots, and turning off the power. None worked. The only thing I have not tried is factory resetting but I'm going to wait for more...

I made an account here just for this exact same issue! Volume scroll wheel on my steering wheel adjusts volume and is displayed on the dashboard screen, but the actual volume of the MCU stays the same.
