Just spent 6 hours on this project. I skipped the strain relief boots as the original author mentioned. Huge mistake. Two wires pulled free of their crimps and now I have no way to fix the connector.

This will only work if the trailer lights you're powering are LED. If they're traditional bulbs, you'll need a relay module (e.g. Tekonsha 119190) to handle the power distribution.
