what’s the lead time for a vehicle now? Seems quick..I just got assigned a VIN on an S, but just took delivery of an X. Don’t really need the S right now and would rather wait until a potential battery change (yeah - probably a year or two from now at the least).

Dropped off the baby as soon as I could to this shop. Got matte white wrap with ceramic coating, window tint, and painted calipers + Tesla emblems. It turned out amazing! Waited 1.5 years for this bad boy and now it’s clean! I’d highly recommend getting any wraps/tint done here if you’re in OC...

Same. VIN 12/15 and I’m in southern CA. Nobody knows why it can’t get on a truck to be delivered. They won’t even let me come up to Fremont to pick up delivery. I’m starting to think there are more shortages or problems with these cars..

The delivery team is the one who changes that information or delivery date. Your SA is able to see the stage it’s in if you’ve received a VIN.

Thought getting a VIN was a good thing…been 12 days and Tesla can’t figure out why my car is still in Fremont. It’s been “staging” and they can’t get any other updates. I’ve even offered to fly out to pick it up.. at this rate, they probably won’t even deliver to me this year.

I asked them that too. I said I’m ready to book a flight up there and make the awesome drive home. They wouldn’t let me for some reason.

Nice! I had a scheduled delivery for Sunday in Irvine too, but they called yesterday and said that their system said car was still in Fremont. Hopefully my car was in the same batch as yours and it’s there now for me to pick up.

Anyone with pre-refresh reservation, when you click on “order agreement” on your account, what date does it show? I originally ordered in June 2020, but when I click on “order agreement” it shows Feb 2021 (which is when I accepted the new refresh pricing).

Ahhh..makes sense now why I haven’t gotten my VIN yet. Lakers are at the bottom. Maybe if I jump on the Warriors bandwagon, the Tesla folks will VIN me.

Just saw one white model X refresh on a trailer on i15 north next to Primm/Vegas. Wonder who that one belongs to..

If you don’t want it anymore, leave the reservation and buy it whenever it comes out still. Since you ordered prior to refresh, you can probably make $10,000+ easily by just reselling the car within a week of getting it (whenever that is of course..).

Somebody in the S thread mentioned that Elon's plan is to quickly produce as many Model S's as they possibly can then switch over to the X line. They're only holding VIN's for 3 days on the model S's. If true, then it'll make sense if we start seeing batches of Model X VIN's later. Fingers...

Would you ever consider putting the refreshed X on Turo? I’m sure there are folks who’d pay a premium right now to test it out.

With the ways things are going, nobody really knows. We’re all holding on to hope that deliveries will start ramping up in December. If you can wait to the last moment to extend the lease, then there “might” be more clarification in a month.

Yeah. I have a 113 reservation (even before @Fulkth) with white interior. Plus in southern CA. I feel like I would’ve gotten my VIN by now, but they’re still short on these white interiors.

Model X reservation here. How’s the white seats for model S’s? Are there more delays with white seats than other colors?

From my understanding, it's a hard credit pull, which is why many people put it on "cash" option until they receive their VIN. You can google payment calculators online and try to get a rough estimate on monthly payments.

That's not good. I have a June 2020 order date, so I'm expecting to be one of the next people to get a VIN, but my gut feeling is telling me white interiors are not all there...

So hard to determine whether those seats are cream or white inside..I'm hoping there are no shortages in the white seats for the Model X.

Hopefully they’re just going from northern CA to southern CA and not because of a shortage in white seats. I also originally booked with 6 seats and FSD. If no shortage, my gut feeling is that I’ll get a VIN very soon based on original order date.
