Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

OP here, Not sure who you're asking as I didnt switch to 20's. If I did, I would go with a square setup.

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

cost doesnt really matter... the price of the tires is basically the same with 35/40

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

You'll get around 35k miles. The 70k is not honored by Michelin or any tire place when there is a staggered stance. they will honor 50% (35K). I already looked into this.

speedo difference for the 40's is not that extreme. If you set your tires at 39, realistically, 70mph is 72-73mph. which doesnt matter at all. all of those ".86"" measurements are not exact for every person. tire pressure, occupant/cargo weight, and other things affect the actual running...

No, I haven't. If theres enough snow to need either, im not driving. Ive had a few times where I was mid drive when it started snowing heavily, and they've done great in ~2"-5". I'd say it's a hard no with the inner front tire clearance if any moderate turns are required.

FSD Tracker + a couple of other Qs

the tracker is a waste of time. people dont come online to tell everyone how their car had zero issues and was a good, boring driver all day. but if it makes one mistake, you'll hear ALL about it. Negative voices are louder than positive ones. Thats a place for complainers to feel validated.

    Latest Update Issues

    1. nearly ran over a cyclist? bull****. Regardless of whether it respected the bike lane or not, it does not go near cyclists or pedestrians. it's OVERLY cautious with both of those. 2. Parking lanes? it's known to go closer to the curb between cars, but it ALWAYS goes back out to the main...

Disney+ Removal Exemplifies a growing problem

It was never removed. youre all blowing things out of proportion. If an icon was removed from your phones home screen but still 100% usable, and 2 finger taps away, you wouldn't complain. get over it.

I haven’t…honestly I’m completely happy with my previous run on these tires mileage and performance wise. I drive 100-350 miles a day. An extra 2k Miles doesn’t mean much to me.

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

I'm on my second set. first set made it to 37,000 miles with 3/32 left on the tread. I drive very aggressively on all kinda of roads.

Nope. My entire car is stock besides the tires. Glad you’re enjoying them! The rebate took ~5 weeks for me to receive, easy $250 off!

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

It's common sense. Traction control kicks in when it notices tires moving a different speed than the rest of the tires. your performance model expects a difference between the front and rear tires. if you remove that difference, the computer will think the rear tires are slipping. This same...

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

I wasn’t joking. traction control, braking, and most emergency features are very finely tuned to the staggered setup.

You have to put in that year and model of each of those cars. 265 front tires = 2015 porsche macan turbo. 295 rear tires, 2021 Jaguar F-Pave SVR. That lets you order them. both times ive shown up to get them installed, I had to tell the manager that I understand they arent the OEM fit. They had...

I dont know what any of that is. none of those are a brand. they didnt require me to put on OEM tires. thats what this post is all about.

Auto high beams still comically bad

    That's extreme... try 2 - 3 lol
  24. R

FSD does not use road speed limits recommendation

Technically yes, but in reality, old people, and nervous drivers go by those.
  25. R

Auto high beams still comically bad

Nope. thats just people who need to adjust their headlights down 2 notches. All new SW versions beta and non beta, have vastly improved auto high beams. unless youre seeing them flashing at you. which doesnt happen.

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

No idea honestly... I went wider because the rims looked silly being out farther than the tire. if youre just looking for a wider looking stance, get some spacers.

I wouldn't. Pirellis will give you half the milage. they are not great tires unless youre on perfect freeways 100% of the time, or using them for track. edit: pirellis arent bad tires. Their rubber is just softer. Michelin AS4's are one of the best tires you can currently buy for all road...

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

nope. people have been putting larger tires on cars forever. these are only slightly larger. handles like a dream, and had things checked out about a month ago. everything's perfect.

You're overthinking it. the difference isnt big enough to have a noticable impact. get an alignment and there is no problem. I drive like a madman on windy mountain roads and highways as well as snow/rain/mud traction control is perfect, suspension is perfect. everything is in good shape with my...

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

OP here. None of that is important. There is not enough of a difference to affect suspension. thats paranoia. if my speed says 70, i'm going 74. i'm not an idiot so I know that. I remember. I adjust. youre looking for problems where there arent any. let it go Just because this is the...

Confirmed. The only difference besides the size is no foam inside tires. which makes literally zero difference.
