Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

I'm not sure what fixed it - it wasn't a software update on the Powerwall - but is is working for me now they way I'd expect it to. I'm not sure if it was just "time to learn" or perhaps a server software change. Off-peak: $0.10 / $0.10 Peak: $9.90 / $6.00

Email from Tesla - Powerwall uses 3G Cellular Please connect to Wifi or Ethernet

Just received the email. Very suddenly the Home Energy Gateway has lost connection and I can't see energy usage. Using IOS and the latest Tesla app I don't see any options to update network settings.

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

I still see the Powerwall discharging during the 12am - 3pm off-peak period. I also see solar powering the house after 3pm, instead of sending production to the grid. To recap, this is what I want to achieve: Off-peak: Powerwall does not discharge. Solar charges Powerwall first, after which...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

True. How about "Off-peak: Powerwall does not discharge. Solar charges Powerwall first, after which solar can go to the home or grid" Unless there is a power failure ... :)

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

Leaving the Powerwall out of it, then you are correct that the grid, home and solar are connected. Powerwall has hall-effect sensors that measure the current used by the house and produced by solar. Since it also knows the voltage it can calculate the power - which is what is displayed in the...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

My bad! I had modified the numbers some more this morning, and my attempt to revert to what was used yesterday failed. Peak was $0.60 / $0.48. I now have off-peak set to $0.20 / $0.20 and peak at $0.60 / $0.48. I'll collect a day's worth of graphs on Thursday. I'm not hopeful though given I...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

I'm still not seeing the result I'd like. This is what I'd like to see: Off-peak: House is 100% powered by grid. Powerwall charges from solar then excess solar (if any) goes to grid Peak: Powerwall powers house. All solar goes to grid After changing the prices as recommended, I'm still seeing...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

Thanks for the feedback. I may have had the same buy and sell values all along (peak and off-peak were more realistic at the start of my tests). I'll try using the values you suggest and report back. That said, things like draining the PW when the grid cost is $0.01, or nor sending solar to...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

The most representative day was last Friday. However, the backup reserve was set to 20% (all else was the same). Things to note: 1. The Powerwall discharges between 3:45am and 8:20am. It shouldn't be doing that 2. At 3pm the Powerwall is at 87% charge. I want Powerwall to start powering the...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

Yes, this is what I'd expect if the Powerwall was not at 100%.

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

Additional information: 1. Doesn't appear to be a clock issue, because Powerwall discharges in the evening as expected (except for #2 below) 2. After 3pm, the Powerwall used to power the house while the solar generation went to the grid. This is broken too; Powerwall doesn't power the house...

Tesla App Utility plan configuration: Multiple Peaks, Buy/Sell Behavior, etc

I've had my Powerwall for over a year, but the latest software updates have messing things up. Can anyone take a stab as to why it was discharging when power could be drawn from the grid at $0.01? I rebooted the Powerall last week, and haven't made changes since then. Screenshots were taken...
