Did they have to disconnect the battery to do the job? Did they need parts?

A stone on a driveway dented rocker.

I got an estimate from authorized shop for $4,600 and estimates from local (not Tesla authorized) reputable shops for about $1,000... Not sure what to do. Is it too risky to go with good local shops? The rocker has a small dent below the passenger door. Please help me decide.
