If you’ve been employed less than 2 years, you can be let go without cause or recourse in the U.K. You can be made redundant but they’d need to pay you.

Quick progress. Kettering and Newmarket were not on the map either, they just popped up one day. No one spotted the Kettering site being built until it was live on the app. Newmarket was spotted but only after the cabinets arrived on site.

The give away is that this isn’t an EG site, if it was there would be a big EG sign there already. I’ve never seen an EV Point charger (Tesla or otherwise) that’s not cited on an EG owned forecourt/services.

    MG Cyberster concept EV roadster

It’s almost everything the 2nd gen Tesla roaster should have been before Tesla got distracted. They could have released this car at this price point years ago if they kept the design brief sensible and they would have sold tens if not hundreds of thousands of them by now. My only complaint...

I was at Rugby a few weeks ago, every single stall but one was in use. It was turning over cars very quickly but despite it being one of the biggest in the country, it gets BUSY. A charger in a local shopping centre is serving a different kind of customer to those on the M6. The Gridserve...

It also had a 10% import tariff added when it was landed in the U.K.

    UK Pricing piss take

PLUS tax, document fees, delivery fees and registration. Of course there is also the £7500 government incentive you already mentioned. Bringing in a car from outside the EU into the EU/UK adds another 10% tax plus the cost to ship it here.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I use the left scroll wheel, the horn means it cuts the clip in the wrong place. You typically need at least 1 min after the event and that kind of makes the horn redundant.
  12. Q

    Tow bars

VIN plate takes president. If you are pulled by the police or VOSA, that’s what they’ll look at (not the V5). In all honesty, it’s it’s just for bikes, I’d be looking at roof bars. Cheaper and less grief.
  13. Q

    [UK] Spring Software Update

The point in which it starts to slow is dependent on your speed, the car in fronts speed and the 2-7 setting. Setting 2 can be very late on the brakes, particularly if there is a large speed differential to the car you are catching in front. Likewise if you are happy to sit back behind...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

It could simply be using a newer part of the instruction set available on the AMD processor that isn’t supported on the older Atom because it’s too old. In any case it’s just wild speculation until the software is released and the usual hackers get hold of it and see how it was actually done...

that’s usually the case but it’s not a guarantee that the existing V2’s will be retained.
  16. Q

    Tow bars

You can but it has to form part of the weight of the car, not a trailer. So bike racks, tow bar boxes are fine. Trailers are a hard no.
  17. Q

    Cambridge to Manchester and return

It will be slower than stopping at keel so ABRP will never pick it and it will assume you’ll not be sharing power on a V2 which you likely will be at Keel. That said, if you are sharing, I suspect it’s neither here nor there as you’ll have at least a 10 min advantage over Trentam. I’d still...

    Cambridge to Manchester and return

Personally I would have picked Trentam Gardens rather than keel for a lunch stop and you’d have been able to get there without stopping at rugby if you had sufficient bladder range. 5 mins off the motorway and a much nicer place to stop and have lunch. Thats before considering keel is an old...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

That would be my assumption also but I used ‘in theory’ because you’d probably win if you challenged it due to its wording thanks to our legal system. It’s a well established principle that where there is any ambiguity in a contract, it favours the person with the least power/the person who...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

To be honest, the list of exclusions is smaller than I expected. Headlights is a bit of a red flag these days with LEDs. It specifically cites 12V battery, in theory that means the 16V battery is covered. Infotainment screen isn’t excluded nor are electronic control modules.

[UK] Report that Tesla not going to produce low cost “Model 2”

There is no chance you are getting 200-220 miles range from a car with a WLTP rating of 250 miles in the real world. Sure perhaps around town if you extrapolate it out but the range around town is basically irrelevant. 100kw is still slow… I would t count on my old Model 3 with a 60kwh battery...

DNO electrician installed wrong main fuse

PS those of you with heat pumps, a 7kw heat pump will at most be drawing 16A and probably more like 10A, even when going full tilt. Solar will reduce your loading from the grid during daylight hours not the other way round. So you have a car rated at 32A, a battery storage system (typically...

[UK] Report that Tesla not going to produce low cost “Model 2”

The jeep avenger is just too expensive for what it is. It has a WLTP range of 250 miles. Real world range is closer to 150 miles on the motorway in colder months, that’s just poor. It also charges slowly.

[UK] Report that Tesla not going to produce low cost “Model 2”

To be honest, I’m not sure Tesla could to produce a $25k car which would be up to their general standards anymore. Not with the way pricing is going generally. It may have been achievable back in 2020 when it was first floated bit not any more. ‘Low cost’ is relative, Porsche have a ‘low cost’...

    So… Highland is out…

Not sure this really holds up, the real price drops on other vehicles were as much as if not more than what Tesla did. Don’t forget other manufacturers increased their RRPs and stopped ‘discounts’ and incentives, Tesla just did the former. Tesla dropped their prices but they are still up on...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

I’m not talking about scrappage, I’m talking about the general market churn and the report clearly states that people tend to keep cars for around 4 years (new and used). It’s got nothing to do with being rich and you are responding to something that wasn’t written. I politely invite you to re-read my post :). My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

This basically. Most people in the U.K. only keep their cars for 4 years, you simply have money to burn for not getting a refund on something you didn’t receive on a car which is likely to be sold to someone else in the near future, if not already. FSD transfers have only been a thing here...

There were/are some non -Tesla units that have been awaiting power on for what feels like the best part of a year. Perhaps it is related to that as Zapmap still doesn’t list them as being live. There are cheaper units on the other side but I’d rather use the dead time at the terminal to...

What’s innovative about the hardware? Other than the little doggy windows going up and down, I don’t see anything that somebody else hasn’t already done. I don’t really see any fresh ideas, the styling is pretty safe, the price is fine but it’s not undercutting its competitors in what’s...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

This conversation is rather circular isn’t it? We know Tesla doesn’t dip the headlights automatically in lit areas and never has. You either solve it by pushing forward on the light stalk (or pressing the headlight button in newer car) or you don’t bother and leave it on. It’s entirely your...

I’d put money on them being V3 if they are built. Ask yourself why Apple Green who operate their own charging network and are developing the site would allow Tesla to undercut them on their own site. The only reason this makes commercial sense is closed V3 chargers. And that only works...

Apple green don’t fit Tesla chargers but they may be working in partnership with Tesla as they do at welcome break sites (also owned by Apple green) which are also V3 installations so they are not competing with each other. I don’t really know why anyone would buy Fisker for their ‘tech’ (IP). They are not doing anything special with the car that other manufacturers are not already doing. They don’t have any substantial assets (e.g. an EV factory) anyone may want. The main USP of the car is its range but that’s...

That’s not totally abnormal when PCPing or leasing a car. A lot of opens you pay full whack for in the PCP/lease period.
