    Stick on vinyl number plates

Brilliant, have been trying to ask proplates themselves with little joy. I got worried because the BNMA website says they consider most vinyl plates would probably NOT pass some of the new more stringent tests and therefore illegal. If proplates are say they are compliant then shouldn't be any...

    Stick on vinyl number plates

For anyone who's ordered from proplates... do they carry the "BSAU145e" certification mark? This is now a legal requirement for plates after September 2021.

Is PPF and Ceramic worth it?

Mine is getting PPF this week. I'm also with Admiral and had read previously they were pretty chilled about it so good to get confirmation.

Is PPF and Ceramic worth it?

"ultra" PPFs like Suntek Ultra also has hydro-whatsit layers so water will bead off easier - hence no need to ceramic over the top. The term "ceramic" itself seems like a marketing invention - yes it contains Silicon Dioxide, but thats like saying I'm an ocean because I contain water. What...

Is PPF and Ceramic worth it?

Unless they could prove the PPF was material to the claim I think their limit would be to NOT pay for damage caused to the PPF unless the T&C's say that you cant apply cosmetic stickers or other external protection products to the car. I know Admiral class PPF as cosmetic.

Is PPF and Ceramic worth it?

I've been mulling it over and have booked to get a full body PPF in Suntek ultra which doesnt need ceramic coatings over the top. My main reason is that my previous car (Outlander phev) was covered in scratches from bushes along narrow country lanes. With the MY being just that bid wider I...

UK Model Y LR battery size

Now they're here did anyone with an ODB doofer and the right app measure the exact useable/max battery size? I'm still hearing people say 75kWh and I've found the % displays in the car dont seem to tally that well with the number of kWh shown in the app because numbers are rounded up or down...

Tesla Home charger Vs third party chargers

These guys (Unique Tesla charging cables - evChargeking) have a tethered cable replacement with the magic button... You know it would be a simple fix for tesla to provide an option to not lock the charge port when the car is at home. I know some will scream about pulling out a cable while the...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I tried asking elsewhere but only got guesses for answers... so here's my question: In the energy app, why would the "instant range" prediction be different depending on whether the 5, 15 or 30 mile graph is being displayed? The manual says the instant prediction takes the last few consumption...
  11. dazzap

Consumption chart: average vs instant range

Well of course. However, the instant range value really should be the same regardless of which graph is currently being displayed because if you watch it while driving it updates every few seconds... so what factors would affect the range based on the last few seconds of averaged consumption...

    Sudden Loss of connectivity

Driving down to Cornwall this afternoon and LTE disappeared about 3pm'ish. New MY - thought it was just a duff signal until I realised my phone was fine. Haven't re-checked to know if its come back.
  13. dazzap

Consumption chart: average vs instant range

It's nothing more than a guess.. albeit not totally unreasonable. It depends what Tesla mean by a data-point. In the world of telemetry devices record a constant stream of "raw" data at some period, eg 100 milli-sec, 1 meter, whatever. Normally raw sampling is done at a high rate and then...

Consumption chart: average vs instant range

Well no actually... I did a couple of searches and didn't have any luck. But, as it happens I don't think anyone properly answered the question and quite a few didnt appear to understand the question!
  15. dazzap

Consumption chart: average vs instant range

But what you're suggesting there is actually just an average over 2, 5, 10, 15 or 30 miles. There's going to be a simple answer to this.. it's just totally non-obvious but by definition an instant value isn't a really an instant value if it depends on a previous average.
  16. dazzap

Consumption chart: average vs instant range

I think you've missed the point. Its possible to get THREE different instant predictions depending on 5, 15 or 30 miles. That's not how instant is supposed to work. The 5/15/30 buttons should be greyed out for instant. Here's the other two "instant" range predictions! Which one are you...

Consumption chart: average vs instant range

Model Y 2022.4.5.3 Average range shows the predicted range based on last 5, 15 or 30 mile average Wh/mile consumption. So far so good. The Instant range calculation also gives different predictions for 5, 15 or 30 miles (which are all themselves different to Average). This is bonkers as 5,15...

Anyone else pondering Model 3 to Y when it lands in UK?

Got my MY on Saturday.. totally in love with it. I thought long and hard last year because with 4860's imminent (as it then seemed) was I buying the last of the "old tech"? As it turns out 4860's are still MIA and probably won't hit these shores until the MYP gets them (early Berlin MYPs...

    Tesla YouTubers

Gjeebs in the US is worth a look. He's done some daft stuff but also has experience of changing wheel sizes, replacement suspension and long trips. Interesting sense of humour. Richard Symons probably best of the UK based for vast knowledge and experience.

Thats what I figured too so removed the carpets, but it didnt help so put them back for added sound insulation! Tesery say they are a "perfect" fit, so I've sent them photos to suggest this is not the case. Am now thinking maybe better to stick with carpets and just replace them if they wear out.

    Solving the "WiFi Connectivity" problem...

Best opt for what you like the look of as you’ll be looking at it every day. If you buy what you love… it’s easier to forgive any marginal downsides. I’ve driven 19’s and 20’s and felt there was a clear difference. So if comfort is very important then I’d suggest the 19’s might be more...

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

In europe (at least some parts of it) when you ask for a grid connection you pay the same rate regardless of location. A bit like how BT charge the same for an install regardless of how much cable they use. In the UK we pay (typically) by how much cable they have to lay. For HV its about £1M/km...

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

After much consideration, did I order an MY because of SuC? No, not entirely. Did it influence my decision? Yes, definitely. Had there been a functional alternative to the SuC or free access to it, would I have "made do" with a much cheaper ID.4 or even cheaper still an E-Niro.. again quite...

Forget you ever saw the number 351. It's fantasy. Interesting though... if you know the average Wh/mile with that figure of 322 should be able to estimate the useable battery pack size.
