    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Can't beat that price! The carrier is my own build. I liked the RigD setup but couldn't stomach the price, so I made this thing, which allowed me to control the distance to the bumper and offset the tire so I still had a useable rear camera.

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Sorry for the delay! This post shows the Methods without the lift. I looked at a lot of options, including the BR Arches, but after getting Analysis Paralysis, I decided to just go with the Methods, since they guaranteed fit on the MYP. Some pics below to sway you toward the Methods ;) When...

Model Y Performance : All Terrain Tires and Wheels with no Lift Kit?

Drove it for about 2 months before installing the new wheels and tires then another 2 weeks before I got the lift. Ended up with MPP comfort coils and their lift kit.

Model Y Performance : All Terrain Tires and Wheels with no Lift Kit?

It's been a blast! I have zero desire to return to the original setup. Definitely gets some interesting looks at superchargers! 🤣

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

The aero wheels didn't work for me on the MYPerformance (rear brake caliper clearance), though a spacer probably would have worked (I believe I'd have to grind off some of the caliper like in this thread). If you've got a Long Range, you're probably in better shape.

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

I almost went with the Black Rhinos, but at the end I chose the Methods. One thing to note, I have 255/55R18 on 18x8 with a +38mm offset which looks great in the front, but in the rear, the outer edge of the tire sits about 1" inside the outer edge of the fender. If I were to do it again, I'd...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Yup, methods with Toyo Open Country on 255/55R18. I've got the MYP, so aero wheels didn't work for me and I wanted a higher load capacity wheel. I recently drove my buddies MYP and I actually prefer my off road wheel/tire/coilover setup, even when were were canyon carving. It's more forgiving...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

I have hit plenty of rocks with my stock skid plates at various speeds - it has definitely punctured, but not shattered. I debated going with the aluminum skid plates before a few of my big trips earlier this year, but due to availability, I just rocked the stock ones. In my case, the aluminum...

I think I paid $40 for Specialized Coatings in Huntington Beach to do mine (their lot minimum). For my spare tire, I just ended up spray painting it with some Semi Gloss Black and it looks pretty good too.

I used this one from Amazon, they work great! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087QMMJX8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Yup, I kept my tire size setting to the 21" and I don't really see a difference between my speedo and the "Your Speed" radar signs (1.6% off isn't bad!)

They do not come with lugs, so I ordered the suggested extended lugs per their website.

Thanks! I designed and built the rack - there are some decent off the shelf solutions (especially if you just want to hold a spare) but to check all the boxes I wanted, I needed to make my own!

    Lifted my Model Y 😀

I have the Ridge Grapplers on my GX and really like how quiet they were compared to my Duratracs or KO2s. Only reason I didn't go with those on the MY was because they weren't officially snow rated (though I never had issues with them). @gr8tdane24 glad you're liking the Falkens!

    Lifted my Model Y 😀

+1 on this @Gold13! Looks quite a bit higher than the MPP, but maybe the camera adds an inch ;)

Yup! Stopped in Palmdale on the way there because of better food options but Mojave on the way back. I almost didn't make it - she rerouted me up to Inyokern halfway there but since I had a buddy following me with lots of recovery gear, we decided to go for it. Made it with -3% battery (said 0...

Opps, yeah, I got the adjustable camber arms as well (in the rear). Yeah, you have to be careful with offsets (especially on the MYP), and even then, it's not necessarily a slam dunk because of how the inside profile of the wheel is shaped. I definitely went down the rabbit hole with wheels and...

I've got Toyo Open Country AT3s in 255/55R18 on Method 502s with the MPP lift and comfort coilovers. Some additional info on this thread if you're interested in a similar setup!

    Unplugged Performance Worth It?

Agree, lots of info out there. Personally, I went to 18" and all terrain tires and didn't think the ride improved that much on my stock MY Performance - but stiffer ride didn't really bother me that much to begin with.

    Unplugged Performance Worth It?

I cancelled my UP dirt/snow coil overs and went with the MPP comforts + lift kit due to the crazy lead times and the concerns people were having with NVH. I am super happy with the MPP setup, and after doing both that and a stealth wrap, if I had to chose just one, I would definitely pick the...

@chadconway you'd be competing with these guys for most extreme off road 3/Y! It was a bit too extreme for me, but I'm interested to see what you end up doing!

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

@TheeUnderdog I ended up cancelling my UP order, in part because of the NVH complaints, but also because the lead time was way too long. Just got the MPP Comfort Coilovers and lift kit installed! Super happy with how everything turned out, though I've only put about 50 miles on it. I'm taking...

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

@MountainPass I love it! Those OZs are sweet, too bad they don't make them in 18" I should be able to install the lift kit in a couple of weeks - excited to see how it does! For your coilovers, do you offer different spring rates? I'll be lugging an extra couple hundred pounds on the hitch...

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Just tried some mild off roading at a nearby OHV park. I was surprised by how well it did! You really don't need a ton of ground clearance to navigate a bunch of this stuff, but that being said, I was definitely rubbing in a lot of places, and loose traction climbing some mild grades (I was too...

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

@gr8tdane24 That looks awesome! Is that with the lift installed? I just got back into reception after a day of testing off road capabilities! Definitely needs more ground clearance and probably stiffer springs in the rear if I'm doing to keep using it as a Trail 90 hauler!

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

Tires are Toyo Open Country A/T III in 255/55R18 and wheels are Method 502 in 18x8 with a 38mm offset. I went down the wheel rabit hole but ended up going with Method since they confirmed that these will work for the Y Performance. So far no major rubbing, but we did have to put a ton of wheel...

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Thanks! Yeah, super surprised how quiet and smooth the Toyos are. I've had Duratracs, KO2s, and Ridge Grapplers on my previous rigs (RGs being the quietest) and I do like how these sound and feel in the first 20 miles. I should be able to put about 500 miles on them in the next week, so we'll...

Model Y Performance : All Terrain Tires and Wheels with no Lift Kit?

In case you guys are still looking for some pics of a Model Y Performance with All Terrains, I just installed mine today: I just got my MPP lift kit in, so will hopefully be installing those in the next couple weeks, but not before trying to take this on some mild off road/snow roads. More...

Tires and wheels mounted today! They did have to put a ton of weights on some of the wheels, and there was some slight interference between the inboard weights and the e-brake solenoid that we had to reposition. Method 502s on Toyo Open Country A/T III on a stock Model Y Performance (no...

    WTB Stock Y suspension

I did a horrible job detailing the situation, so let me be more specific: I have a Y Performance on stock suspension. I have ordered a the UP Dirt and Snow Coil Overs, but it's a long wait (March/April). So in the interim, I ordered a MPP lift - but since I wouldn't be getting a big lift...

    WTB Stock Y suspension

I have a MY Performance and looking for someone who's willing to part with their Y (non performance) suspension. I'd be willing to trade for my performance setup, but need some time to do the swap! I'm in Southern California, so local pickup would be ideal. Let me know if you're interested!

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Thanks for that info! I'm surprised by the rubs, do you have any pics to show where that's contacting and what weld it's contacting? Bummer on the UP suspension, and even worse that they're not responsive. From their website, it looks like the springs directly mount to the perch, so maybe...
