Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

This is basically my exact experience. I’m in NorCal so it’s still a bit colder here (about 45-50 degrees for my morning commute). I’m experimenting this week with driving as “lightly” as possible (although the vast majority of my miles are on highways) and going to (gulp) try to run the...

Tessie is great! Already feeling better (even if the numbers are still subject to later correction) :D

Good insights. I’m going to try Tessie out!

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

How is everyone doing on charge limit with their 2021 SR+ LFP? I’m at about 4,200 miles and have steadily dropped from the initial 253 to now 247 at max charge limit. Not the end of the world, but I hope this trend slows down as that’s a >1% reduction every 2K miles. I’ve posted previously...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

This has been my experience as well with a 2021 SR+ LFP. I charge to 100% pretty much every day (after discharging to about 65-70%) and experienced the same initial drop to 248 total range but it’s pretty much held there for months. I’m in Northern California and as temps have increased a little...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Mine didn’t come with a window sticker so my expectation was always 253 (which it did start at for about 2 months). Does anyone know if the total BMS estimate increases if you select (and actually add) the Aero covers?

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Yes, I took delivery a week after you and 248 seems to be the norm. If you go back a few pages in this thread you can see some more discussion on this and my attempts to see if the BMS would recalibrate a bit if I let the battery get down to 20-30% each time (even letting it sit overnight...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

That’s what I’m going to do as well. My average round trip each day is about 60-70 miles so if I plug in around 5pm even on my lowly Lvl 1 it’s at 100% the next morning. Works for me! I’ve seen many posts about the 2021 LFPs *technically* having more range but the BMS simply not showing it. I...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Interesting review and good results! For anyone interested, I’ve now run down my Sept 2021 SR+ LFP to between 20-30% a few times before charging all the way back up (once by Super Charging and twice just Lv1 at home). Long story short: the app’s estimate of total available range at 100%...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

I think that’s a possibility. Seems like many of us with 2021 LFPs saw that exact same drop to 248 in the winter months. It hasn’t gone down further, so we’ll see what, beyond driving/charging habits and passage of time, really makes a difference. It’s been (California) cold around here (30s in...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Good reminder. I ended up drawing down to 30% (normal around-town and freeway driving) and then charged all the way back up. It had recently just been showing 248 as the max and staying there. This time it was at 248 miles with 45 mins left, showing a total of 251, which I haven’t seen in...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Yes I'll give that a shot (going to ~20% and then charging back up). I imagine it would take a 2-3 times doing that to register any real changes, but we'll see! I'm sure you'll love your 2022 M3 when it arrives.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Hi all - first post for me here and really want to thank those providing such helpful, insightful and educational information. I'm also a 2021 SR+ LFP owner who started at 253 at 100% and, after 3,000 miles driven am now consistently only at 248 at 100%. I drive about 60 miles/day and...
