    HD Audio Bluetooth AAC

Thanks. It must be a hardware difference between the M3 and MY.

    HD Audio Bluetooth AAC

Do you have Android? I assume you have a Model Y?

    HD Audio Bluetooth AAC

Sorry, perhaps that's your experience, but I can hear a difference when streaming Bluetooth music with HD on or off. It is noticable. This is coming from a M3, so I was disappointed with the sound quality immediately in his car and was surprised to see the lack of HD Audio slider. Seeing if...

    HD Audio Bluetooth AAC

My friend just took delivery yesterday MYP and I tried a few things to get HD audio working on his Pixel 5 running Android 13. For the life of me, it doesn't work. I have a M3 21, and it works fine and the device shows with my wife's Pixel 5. Did they strip out HD audio (cost savings) or does...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Yeah, my biggest surprises with my first purchase with an EV (Bolt) was there was sooooo many free chargers (level 2). I found so many free and convenient chargers that out of my 40k miles I would say I only paid 5% of those at my house or on commercial level 2/3 chargers. With my Tesla I would...

    CCS Adapter for North America

Oh well, you can always go on eBay and play it that way. You will be paying more that $30. They sell for about $400 on there USD. You could also wait for Tesla to officially release this in the US sometime next week or 5 years from now. Are you a betting person? I guess it really depends on how...

What's strange to me is that this was added in January to the US service manual for RETRO fit of CCS in the US model.

Here is the correction code for the official Tesla retrofit on older model 3: Correction code 440151060.15 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures...

Anyone find the service manual that discusses the retrofit in older models with a new ECU: https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/v8ghnu/comment/ibsnxot/

    CCS Adapter for North America

When I used my CCS adapter at an EVgo station it knew I was a Tesla. It was displayed on the station screen. My vehicle is not added to my EVgo profile. The vehicle model/make must be declared by the protocol.

    CCS Adapter for North America

If you truly are a Boston Pilot then you might be close enough to give you some pointers. I live in Natick, so if you want to swap the ECU, I can help you. I had a 2021 that was delivered in September and it was a simple swap to get CCS enabled.

    CCS Adapter for North America

I did the same thing. We took a risk and it worked out. If Tesla didn't sell me a stripped ECU, I would not have stuck my neck out. I was hell bent on that. The high prices on eBay was due to the risk people did not want to take buying in another country with unusual payment processing. Some of...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Perhaps a friendly Tesla owner will do a swap with you locally in Sacramento? If you lived in Massachusetts I could do it with you. I don't know how much you paid, but ideally you would send it back sooner than later to get a refund once you have proven it's the ECU.

THIS. Someone could have ripped out a bad unit and just put it on The Bay. Did you read the condition of the unit before purchase? This is where sellers usually get you with the fine print as most focus on the description and not the condition.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I sold mine for $99. I did see the $255 one and someone will end up with a very unhappy ebayer. The buyer is always right, so it's just not worth the risk and trying to snatch over retail on a stripped ECU.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Yeah I sold my 80-B on eBay yesterday. I saw little little value in keeping it. Maybe an independent repair shop will be able to use it? I disclaimed that it was a stripped ECU withOUT CCS capabilities, no returns!

The right side locking tab is the same as the left side one you see in my hand. I suggest leaving this in. Care should be taken to not pull too hard on the molding that bridges both sides of the trunk or you may break this right side locking tab. The molding will bend down since half of it is...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I did not disconnect any power in the car when swapping my ECU. It seemed unnecessary as others had zero issues. What did you do?

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I went with plan C with my 2021 Stripped PLC ECU 4 (1537264-80-B) -> (1537264-00-B): Tools: 10MM socket with extension, flat head screw driver, and a stub flat head screwdriver (optional). Drive to SC and park outside. Pick up your new ECU at the service desk. Head back to your car and turn on...

Did Tesla charge you for this firmware flash? When you picked up the ECU, they put the car in service mode?

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

You have been doing great and we have all been following along. You clearly have the skillset. If I could offer a second set of eyes, I would, but it's slightly out of my skillset :( You would think this would be s simple circuit. Engineers usually don't try to make things more complicated for...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

My car was Sept 21 and the logo is in the center. My car was iced up this morning and set it to defrost. I am 99% sure it's not a heated charge port. *Update* Yeah, it's offset, the logo, but it doesn't seem to heat anything. maybe it only heats when charging? My car also doesn't have the PLC chip.
  24. B

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Okay, sorry. I thought you were caught up on what is a heated port. As far as the ECU, I think you are suggesting that maybe there is an ECU3 WITH a PLC chip? I keep thinking that Tesla says the ECU 4 SHOULD work with @FalconFour's 2018. That pulls me back to the idea that his car has a...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Okay, so perhaps the cover has a switch or ground path back to the ECU? Did you look at the end of the female wire harness? Do you think when you swapped out originally you bumped the cover or a pin-slot or crimp opened in the wire harness?
  27. B

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Well, isn't your car still under warranty? Why not wait for the real retrofit like the EU had? If they find anything wrong with any items during the retrofit, it would be taken care of under warranty? Maybe some items will need to be replaced regardless, but maybe Tesla will just charge a flat...

Can you return the 1537264 Gen4 to Tesla? They must have a return policy. It didn't work, send it back.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

When you says, "Another base P/N seems to exist in the wild, leaving me on the edge of my seat as to what that might mean - but it could mean nothing." Do you mean, 1537264-80-B? Do you think the 1092755-82-B EU would work in NA on an 2018/Gen 3 NA ECU3 (1092755-98/99-D)? Do you think Tesla...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Well, I think there *may* be a simple ECU swap for the small window of owners who ended up with "1537264-80-B" ECU 4 modules that did NOT have the PLC for NA region. From another thread someone checked their ECU and found 1537264-80-B, with the "80" aka cutted version. CCS Adapter for North...

Thanks for this. I will try to see the pinning on the female side of the charge port wires harness for my 9/21 M3. How did you do all these flashes? Did you drive back to Tesla each time and ask for their assistance with a reflash? Can you do the flash yourself in service mode?
  34. B

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Wouldn't your Gen 4 ECU already be flashed with the right December firmware? Or are these flashes car specific? Did you take any photos of the female side of the wire hardness? It would be nice to compare a newer model M3 with GEN 4 or something like mine GEN3 '21 on the female side of the...

    CCS Adapter for North America

There is a thread where someone tried to DYI a GEN 3 to Gen 4 and it didn't go well: Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach So I suspect there is more to just a simple GEN 3 to Gen 4 swap and firmware upgrade. Both units have different pinouts which may mean...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I think part 16 is just a cover that mates with the back cover, part 4. 4 - ASY,CLOSEOUT PNL,CP,ALL REGIONS My M3LR was built on 9/21 and I got the car on 9/23/21. I do not have the proper module (CCS: NOT installed) :( So Tesla clearly used old chips in some brand new cars :( I am curious if...

CCS: not installed 9/21 MFG 9/23/21 Delivery M3LR I paid $1000 more for my vehicle and did not get the right module. My friend got his in March and CCS is installed. What are the chances of getting a free retrofit like the USBC ports? I'm not holding my breath and not interested in paying...
