    Side repeater HW4 camera replacement

They replaced the plastic shrowd on my model 3, which called for removing the camera. They said to drive it for a few miles (He said up to 100, but mine took 7) and it will realign by itself.

    Based price in invoice

The lower invoice price is a godsend for those of us whose license plate taxes are based on the car's price, or MSRP. My "MSRP" came in at $7,000 below what I actually paid, or approximately the base price before adding extras. My Value tax is now forever based on the lower amount. I wonder if...

Windshield wiper fluid spray button WAY too sensitive

Two detents? Is it something you can feel? I can feel: 1) Not hard enough to activate, 2) Hard enough to activate, 3) Much harder and get spray. I am now in the habit of drying the roof and windshield before leaving the car wash so I don't need to activate the wipers and mess it up.

Poll: Do You Plug In Every Day (for daily driving, home charging)?

I too was in the "charge up to X% after reaching Y%" camp for a while but then I couldn't remember why. Now I plug in every night mostly so I don't need to keep the math working in the back of my head. Also all of the "what if" scenarios have disappeared since my nightly full charge covers 99%...

    Supercharger - Frisco, CO

I was in Frisco last week and even though the location says "hotel", it looks like it's just outside the side door of Kum & Go...now that's handy! But 4 chargers within 10 miles of each other seems a bit luxurious.

Do you normally use "CHILL" mode or "NORMAL" mode with your model Y?

Every comment in this thread is valid. It's great to have the choice! I leave it in STANDARD, but drive CHILL 99% of the time. You never know when the opportunity to enjoy that 1% will come around.

Anyone use the OEM front license plate holder?

I attached the supplied adhesive mount on my old model 3 and after 2 years it seemed a little loose on one side. On my new Y, I used the Tesla mount and added 2 screws into the bumper, which is how all our other cars are mounted. I really don't want to attach my license frame to that flimsy...

Any good Denver Tesla Body Shops?

https://www.ciscosallinoneauto.com/ I chose Cisco not just because he is authorized Tesla, but he drives a Model S, he got me in within a week, and generally works miracles for a good price. Unfortunately, he is south.

Thanks for posting that. There was a line at the door at 8pm, 10 hours before opening! I'm going to wait a while and maybe just look for the bathrooms.

Windshield wiper fluid spray button WAY too sensitive

My '22 Model 3 sprayed fluid with slightest tap and occasionally would also operate properly. I never thought it could be a service problem. My Model Y works as expected.

Can you Walk-in and buy a Tesla Model Y on the spot? Inventory shows Immediately Available

I went to a Tesla "party" and they had a few customers entering their orders on Tesla's laptops. "Yes, you still have to pay the deposit." If the car was ready you could drive it away, but none were ready. I went home, found one in inventory and picked it up the next day. This time I did not...

    Black and white seats... regrets?

Nice to keep this thread going to help those trying to decide. The only reason I switched from white to black was there was a deal from inventory when I switched from 3 to Y. After 2 years I had no problems with white, the only problem with blue jeans went away after they were washed. Now, with...

main panel has 30 amp to garage panel, what are the options

The 120v/15A solution is a great basic choice if you are aware of its limitations. First, if your utility charges any type of time of use rates you will often need to charge in a more expensive period due to the longer time required for charging. Second, in cold weather, the charge rate is...

    Drill Front License Plate

I too am of the camp that wants to more permanently attach my expensive personalized plate in the front. Why have an extra-cost plate if you don't show it? Also surprising are the drivers who paid even more for the new, "black-out" plates and only attach it in the back. I was surprised when the...

    Recommend Electrician Denver

Probably too late, but I am really pleased with Parker Electric. After installing the #6 cable to the Tesla wall connector, they installed a 60A breaker as the wires ran in open joists in unheated areas and partially in conduit, which technically is within code. I was willing to take care of the...

Can you add Wiper Control to the cards on Tesla display?

Count me among those who have the wipers on the bottom bar. I did have it on the long press scroll button, but keeping the wipers in "Auto" works well and now the scroll button changes the fan speed instead. Rain is rare here but slush from the road isn't, so the tap on the stalk end is the most...

    trade in process

I traded a '22 Model 3 for a '23 Model Y last December. Found a perfect Y in inventory and got a trade-in offer. It was higher than CarMax or KBB. What are your home electricity rates?

Evaluate your costs carefully. I'm already paying the up front charges with or without an EV, so I only consider the per kwh cost of EV charging. Our suburban Denver co-op charges .11/kwh but adds a surcharge for usage between 4 & 8pm. It's .20/kwh at our mountain house but that is supplied by...

Anyone else have bad phantom braking on C-470 in Denver?

Yes, the 3 predictable spots are still there: westbound at the Wadsworth and Santa Fe exits and eastbound at the Santa Fe exit ramp. I do not get phantom breaking, I get a cruise control change from 70 to 45, which is equally abrupt. I do not have that problem when I'm in the Express Lane...

Free Public Charging - Any Users?

I live in the mountains and away from the home charger in the summer. Our condo there has 8, 6kwh chargers at .20/kwh, but the town's parking garage has over a dozen FREE chargers. I charge as much as I can (3/6kwh) while in town, but if I'm looking for a full charge, I will leave the car...

What's your Wh/mi and how do you do it? Any tips?

I also used Trip B to measure the lifetime of the 2 years of my Model 3, and when I traded it for a Model Y it was at 234 wh/mi. The first few hundred miles in the Y have been at 265 wh/mi. Consequences for blocking EV chargers

It's really unfortunate this happens at a supercharger but it looks like Tesla had to use the least restrictive signage to make the deal. Where I live in the summer I only use non-Tesla chargers and find that some of them look like they are on private property but they are not. Hello, officer?

I was visiting friends in Montrose recently and they commented that there are bunch of chargers in town that no one uses anymore. Recurring Registration Fees and EAP/FSD Purchase Bundling

Colorado has the same fees. The amount is an "ownership" tax that is charged in addition to the registration charges, and the fee drops each year for 7 years. Tesla Navigation Starting to Make me Nervous

Manual is the way to go. I like to stop no more than every 2 hours on a long trip, and usually less. Even more important is being able to choose a Supercharger with amenities. There's one 3 hours from me that is in a field behind some apartments with nothing nearby. Not even a tree.;)

How closely does Tesla look at trade ins?

I brought my trade-in on delivery day and the only view anyone had of the car was helping me remove the license plates. There were no 'appraisers' on the property. The value is determined by whatever wholesaler wants to buy the car from Tesla and shouldn't change. My initial Tesla trade-in offer...

My weekly commute is Vail to Denver and back. I'm amazed how close the projection is for my Model 3. It can run + or - 3% depending on traffic. New "Mandatory" Colorado EV Plates are coming

Just got my letter from the DMV. Home charging questions

OMG what a deal! No "off-peak" rates here but there is a $2 per kWh penalty to use power between 4 & 8pm. Regular rate is $0.1152 per kWh. More microwave dinners, with elaborate breakfasts and lunches, instead. I concur with @davewill and charge more often, to 55%, more before a trip.

Bestest Idealest Battery charging percentage band

Looking at research that has been shared in these forums, the narrowest band is 50% to 55%. The lower figure is not critical, and I feel fine charging up to 55% every few days just to make sure I have enough at the ready. I agree, charging less than 12amps is counterproductive. Conversely, I...

When to Charge? Not at Night.

I agree completely with your replies. However, I am embarrassed to admit our local co-op (Core) gets 59% of its energy from coal. When to Charge? Not at Night.

A recent study about EV charging from Stanford University says we're doing it wrong. Most of us without our own solar are charging at night, but if an increasing number of EV's charge then, that eventually becomes the new "on-peak" period. Of course, we're charging at night because we're at home...
