I let the delivery scheduling for my '22 lapse on Friday, and my order was put on hold. Yesterday afternoon the reservation disappeared. I assume that means it was cancelled. Odd that it disappears instead of showing cancelled.
I didn't need the X and wasn't even sure it'd be the right fit...
There’s a chance other changes may coincide with the model year switch, like the long-rumored matrix headlights. I know that’s not always Tesla’s MO, but I won’t rule it out until we see a ‘23 delivery.
I just let the delivery scheduling lapse. They said it will release the VIN to another...
If you had any amount of reading comprehension you would see in my other replies why I want the X to retain as much value as possible. If Tesla cancels my order so be it. You seem to care way more about that outcome than I do.
You’re so right. How absurd of me to expect to get a modern year model, one which others are clearly receiving, when waiting a year and a half and spending $100k on a vehicle. If that makes me entitled then so be it.
Good for you. We have different priorities. I asked how to facilitate my priorities, and you sarcastically replied to start this convo. Still not sure why. Thankfully others have been helpful.
The market is clearly on its way down. Estimates for new S and X orders are also shorter. Taking a now dated model year compounds the resale effects even further.
Here ya go:
At what point for you personally is it no longer reasonable to accept the previous model year? Surely you have a cut-off in your mind, right? Everyone does. If they offered you a ‘22 next summer would you take it? For me that cut-off is now since we have now two confirmed ‘23 VINs assigned...
Too much of a risk when I suspect the R1S will be a better fit. If I knew I'd keep it long-term maybe, but when you add taxes and registration the margin for breaking even is tough. Have you looked at the "for sale" board recently? Values even on pre-hike reservations have dropped significantly.
OK? I didn't say it was. I simply said at this point since they are clearly producing '23s I'd rather forego this VIN to someone who doesn't care and get back in line for a '23.
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, but you're probably right. I'd honestly rather cancel than take a '22 at this stage. We've already seen at least one '23 VIN confirmed. If this was July or residual values were still as high as they were just a few weeks ago I'd throw caution to the...
Correct. Resale is very important to me for this purchase, and I'm not going to accept a 22 when 23s are now being produced. I've waited too long to take that kind of hit.
How are resale values holding up? Seems like they've really taken a dive in the past few months and are sitting for a while. Understandable given the state of the world and the economy, but there's still a long line and $30k premium for MXLR models from Tesla. Potential resale is a big...
My window tightened from 6 weeks (Oct 21 - Dec 2) to 5 weeks (Oct 22 - Nov 26). At this point I'm tempted to delay it for a 2023 model year distinction. I know that doesn't necessarily dictate features with Tesla, but it definitely affects resale.
Nice that they won't let you buy one unless you have a compatible and delivered vehicle tied to your account. Should help manage the supply and prevent scalping.
My MX reservation is tied to a coworker’s account. He didn’t plan on taking delivery and asked if I was interested. We emailed the SA who said it could not be transferred to my account, however they gave us a Tesla-sanctioned process to follow. They reset the registration on the reservation...
I have two preorders for R1s, one for a Launch Edition T and another for an Adventure S. The S was a March 7, 2022 (post-price-hike) reservation and both had OC interior configured. When they announced the OC delay I decided to try switching the Adventure S to a T with the black interior...
All this talk of LR vs Plaid range and actuals vs advertised has me curious — do we have good “real world” range figures for the refresh X variants yet? This will be my first Tesla (possibly first EV depending on Rivian’s timeline), so I’m wondering what to realistically expect out of my LR...
My May 2021 order just had its first date movement in months. Unfortunately it was in the wrong direction! Had been sitting perpetually at July 2022 like so many, but now it’s a range of Dec 2022 - Apr 2023 😳
Originally a LR 7 seat MSM/cream, I did switch to LR 6 seat white/white a couple of...
Thanks all, this thread has been very informative. Essentially any non-Tesla to Tesla connector adapter can only ever have a physical connection to either an AC or DC source port, never both simultaneously, and a switching mechanism would need to be too robust or too complex to be worth it...
Anyone tested if this adapter also supports L2 J1772 charging? It would be nice to only need to carry around one adapter that could do both J1772 and CCS. I could then leave the included J1772 adapter connected to a Wallbox.
