It's a little bit more involving than that. First you open the Frunk. If you have a M3, you'll have to remove the upper trim panel, then look at the battery. On the MY, I believe you have to remove 2x10mm bolts that secure the HEPA filter, remove the filter assembly, followed by upper trim panel.

My concern is whether the the fix/repaint would be as good/better than the original factory paint job. Are there any disadvantages? They told me they installed a state of the art paint system that is equivalent to the factory.

Not sure you "really" need to do that per se. ;) They send an email as soon as a VIN is assigned to your reservation.
