So therfor anything out of warranty is a ticking time bomb that should be avoided? So much for the sustainable future. There needs to be reasonably priced options to keep these cars on the road

I had mine changed under warranty in March 2023, I upgraded it to a 90 at the time. I was told it was a new battery I was getting. My range went from 345 to 486km. So far charging mostly at home to 85%, all is well. My car is a 2015 SD, now 90D
I feel for you, there is no easy way out. From what Im seeing here, you are not alone in feeling like Tesla is turning its back on people driving the original model S. There should be an option from Tesla to buy extended warranty’s. Also the price of the refurbished batteries is ridiculous...
Hi, I have a 2015 model s 70d. My battery failed during a roadtrip. Luckily it was under warranty. They put in a new pack and I paid 4.5k Canadian to turn my car into a 90 D. Now my range on a full battery is 486km!

I think the locating pins are sawed off because after they become badly corroded you cant punch them out in one piece.
Has anyone ever had a problem with the connector?
