Even when you have a VIN and get an EDD don’t get too excited. They took my vin and now I’m in June - July again! No one is responding to my texts or emails.
I’ve been in a similar boat. I did receive a VIN on May 9th with an EDD of May 21 - May 27. Then my VIN disappeared and now I’m back to June - July. If you seriously want the car, hang in there. Otherwise, I’d look at something else.
Likely unrelated. It seems like everything is an excuse for their poor execution. Listening to SA, they all say different things. The instructions clearly say to submit your payment once your VIN is assigned to avoid delays.
Update - Back to a June - July EDD. I Immediately submitted payment after getting the VIN assigned along with insurance information. Something is seriously flawed.
Does anyone know when they allow you to actually schedule devlivery? Once the car has arrived at the dealership/sales center? While it’s in transit? Just curious.
Interesting. Visited my local sales center/dealership and they informed me there is no such thing as an escalation. The said that the information on the app is the latest available.
I was told the same thing about the financing. Makes me wonder if it actually impacts delivery, given how long our delays have been. I order in August too and my EDD is in July.
I think I’m going to throw in the towel and cancel my order. Not getting any solid or consistent information from Tesla. Ordered 8/24 last year and got changed again to July - August EDD. Black/Black/20” rims. No towing or FSD.
Just ridiculous! I’d prefer a solid EDD versus being pushed out constantly. Knowing we had an estimate of January and being 6+ months later is unacceptable IMO.
Never. The only thing I can think of is the financing piece which I was told by several advisors not to complete until I had a VIN assigned because of the runs on the credit. Was also told that had no impact on my delivery.
