I've done quite a few factory orders from various manufacturers and I have never seen any system I would consider "good". In a perfect world I would be able to track, in real time, where my build was in the assembly process.

Unfortunately you cannot lock in for any longer. I really wish Tesla was more transparent about that. I have had one SA explicitly tell me in the welcome email not to do anything regarding financing until a VIN is provided. My other two experiences the initial email did not mention anything...

This is what I have done a couple of times so far. I have gotten a binder from my local agent twice for purchases. I simply let them know when we are taking delivery and they can make the actual insurance active at that time.

Question- asked Tesla about the headlights because I was concerned with getting the older design. Tesla responded that the car has the “global headlights”. I’ve not heard that term. Is this the matrix design?

Just got our VIN for a March 13 order! EDD May 16-20 it was July-August this morning.

Been refreshing nearly hourly for the past month. Ha

Exact same build and order day but in Detroit, we are still at 7/18-8/29.

You should have gotten contacted by Tesla right after your deposit. They can assist as well. Not nearly as helpful as the SAs that reach out once you have a VIN. Those are usually local.

Those Wow- identical build and ours was 10 days earlier, our EDD is still July/August.

The rear windows do not go all the way down. If you visualize the window completely lowered in the door it would have to enter into the wheel well.

I am not seeing anywhere on the SoS where they have officially announced it, only news articles saying that it was happening. I'm curious about it for sure. I am not sure how much I would want a GPS enabled system, however. It seems like a small jump to traffic fines simply by tracking speed.

Still have yet to see an EDD change. May 31-July 12. The good new is that Driveway finally got things going and purchased our existing Model 3 LR. It took weeks and weeks, but they honored their original price which I am happy about.

Yeah it’s a huge gamble to hold onto the vehicle until delivery at this point. We have been watching values drop pretty quickly so we sold ours ahead of time. That only works if you have alternative transportation options though.

I've always gone through cars. Even those that I have loved most I eventually grow bored of and then swap them out. My record for owning a car is 39 months (forced due to a lease). It's my bad habit.

Another day another text from Driveway that we haven't submitted documentation. It appears that half of the things that I submit via email are lost in their "system".

My Model Y P's insurance premium is double that of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk that it replaced.... Insane, but there aren't a whole lot of shops that have expertise in repairing these cars.

At 72 I showed 73.2mph on a speedometer app. It felt accurate enough to me. That also lines up almost spot on with 50.8 when showing 50 on the car.

Tested today. I set cruise to 45 and then used the wheel to move it to 50. At 50 the speedometer app I used recorded me at 50.8mph. I’m going to test tomorrow on the freeway.

Got the tires in on Saturday and installed them today. What a huge difference in ride quality. The 255/45s are not nearly as jarring over bad roads. Grip pines in turns is down a bit however I would sacrifice that for added rubber between the road and the rims.

I opted to drop to 20s and run 255/45s. Tire Rack shipped today so I’ll give it a few weeks to compare. My main motivation was the fact that Michigan roads gobble up low profile tires.

Watching this as I am in the same boat. I am debating 19s vs 20s with 255/45s if I got 20 for extra sidewall.
