I think this may only have affected the batch delivered in June. I have seen pics of those delivered later with working lights. I don't think it is anything to do with led/filament, affected cars do not have a functioning wiring harness at all.

I had a message from our Tesla account manager (large company car fleet) that she had been told parts in the uk end Sept. I have also seen an appointment appear in service for early Nov but don’t know if the two are related.

I'm fairly certain because the whole philosophy of Tesla is to not have many variables on the production line. They don't build your car to order, they make cars and match what they have made to orders. Completely different to other manufacturers. There are only going to be a tiny percentage...

The technician I spoke to said it worked on his test box to test the lights on Friday. Issue is that with no memory, it loses the setting after an hour or so.

I don't believe your towbar will be factory fitted, it will be fitted at the service centre before delivery.

I would get it to a service centre pronto for them to verify, be interesting to see what they diagnose. They said they can programme it, it works for about an hour then loses the setting (as no memory chip) and stops working.

Further info - memory chip is missing apparently so it is not storing the car configuration. Now on back order for several weeks... thankfully I still have my ICE 3 litre BMW so will have to swap to that.

I called into the Tesla service centre in Bristol this morning. They are working on my car still, and have now diagnosed that the wrong vehicle control module was fitted at build in China and won't hold the memory for the towbar for more than an hour, sounds very odd. Hi, yes tried trailer mode. No difference unfortunately. Have bought some resistors and going to make up a box to wire in, concerned it might not fix it though. Swperately, I can't see how I raise an issue in the App, not sure if this is because I am a company car driver and Lex would need to?
