The pack size primarily only affects range. Performance is generally the same weather you have 70% charge or 100% excluding significantly low states of charge. Relatively speaking the power difference is minimal but still noticeable.

The 2170 cells chemistry have a higher power density, hence better performance. 4680 have less power density/energy, therefore less performance. However, the trade off is the 4680 batteries are lighter and can be charged to full more routinely.

Sucks for everyone pushing back their order in hope's of getting a 4680 Texas Model Y, only to find out it has less range, acceleration, and nearly cost the same. From a production standpoint the 4680 Model Y saves Tesla cost, but unfortunately it minimally gets passed onto the consumer.

Correct. Some people are still rejecting cars in hopes of getting a Austin 4680 Model Y. I think they'll be waiting for a long time to get a comparable Model Y because I have a feeling Tesla will push out the standard range+ model Y's for some time first. Only time will tell.

Totally understandable. I'd be frustrated too. I just happened to luck out with Tesla prioritizing vehicles with high priced options (mainly FSD). Possibly living 20 minutes from the factory may have something to do with it as well. Hopefully you get yours soon.

I entered the EDD window twice and got pushed back a week each time, the 3rd time I got a VIN.

I don't plan on removing it.

Bumped up from August to March. I also added it in mid January (updated early February) before all the recent craze.

My EDD took about 2 weeks to change after adding FSD.

Based on reports and rumors, it seems the standard range+ Model Y will be coming first out of Texas. So it may be awhile until the long range models come out with comparable range to the current long range.

I had a August 2022 EDD, and I was bumped up to mid March after adding FSD, it took about 2 weeks. Eventually I got pushed back a little like everyone else but now I have a VIN and a 5 day EDD for the last few days of March. Edit: My OD was 1/4/22

True. I jumped the line when I added FSD in mid January. My order date was 1/4/22 It's not fair, but that's how capitalism works.

Seems like 95% of production priority each week is given to the highest priced variants first with only 5% of production allocated to vehicles with longest order date.

I have the same 15 mile odometer reading on my invoice as well. I don't know how accurate that is or if the car goes through 15 miles of testing. Anyone else have a 15 mile odometer reading in their invoice? I'm in SF bay area.

Did they give you a deadline to pick up the car? I was given a VIN on Monday and live about 20 minutes from the Fremont factory. However I haven't received a text for scheduling delivery/pickup.

Does anyone know how far out you can schedule vehicle pickup once you've been notified? I'm waiting for my auto loan check to come in the mail (5-7 business days) but if Tesla tells me my car is ready and to pick it up tomorrow then I won't have payment.

Ouch. With how frequently EDD changes, I anticipate you will go back and forth several times over the next few weeks.

Tesla is prioritizing highest cost vehicles for delivery first. If you purchase FSD you will surely get bumped up sooner. However in it's current state, FSD isn't worth $12,000 in my opinion (maybe in the future but who knows 🤷‍♂️).

Confused by the last 2 lines. They texted you for delivery today, but said you have to accept delivery 2 days prior when you don't even have the car yet? So in theory your VIN should have been released to someone else 2 days ago?

Thanks for the update. Everytime I entered day 1 of EDD or came within 1 day, my EDD got pushed back later that day. Hopefully next you will receive a VIN and your delivery window will shrink even further. 🤞

Nice to see some moving up. Mine was pushed back from 3/18-3/31 to now 3/28-4/11. 3rd time I've been pushed back in 2 weeks 😔
