Winter tires -- should I buy the Tesla full tire set? (I'm in VT)

Exactly, just swap every season. Those Sottozero 3's are legitimate snow tires and should get you through anything. Excellent ratings on Tire Rack, you can't go wrong. Edit: range dropped 10% versus all season tires

    San Francisco to Portland

Ashland is a cool little town, Brothers Restaurant has a good breakfast. Lately I've been doing the Fairfield Inn in Medford, includes free overnight charging. The PlugShare app is your friend for free or cheap L2 charging, just set the filters to J1772 and Tesla. Way farther off the beaten...

Delivery day didn't go so well. Options and decisions to be made, seeking input and advice.

👎 that's way too many problems to accept the car, let it go and try a second one, it's not like you're waiting months like before. You'll be looking at the dented hood every time you walk up to the car

In 2023, who's making the best all-weather, all-season tires for the Tesla Model 3?

My friend in Portland is running the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 and says you can't beat the traction in almost any weather, the drawback is a loss of efficiency. Edit: It may be a wash when compared to the average between summer and winter tires on 20s.

Subscribe to FSD for road trip?

I know it sounds obvious, but do some two-button resets and turn off the power from within the car and let it sleep for a while

Subscribe to FSD for road trip?

For road trips, I found that FSD really helps when you're constantly passing trucks and then want to get back in the same lane. Using the turn signals to change lanes is much easier than the disengage/reengage process for every pass. For a multi day trip, it's definitely worth it for me. You...

    Increased Road Rage?

That sounds about right, there's so many people doing over 80 here that they have their hands full anyway. Speaking of road rage, a few weeks ago in Sacramento a CHP swerved over three lanes to cut me off while doing 80 in the left lane, passing people in light traffic. I moved to the middle...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I've had this happen (not often) where it blows a stop sign after immediately turning from another road, like it's not registering the sign fast enough for some reason. Maybe it's doing that and then realizing there's a road there and stopping late.

    FSD almost caused a crash..

I assumed this was a known bug since 11.3.6 (currently 11.4.2), but I've had FSDb absolutely dive into lanes that open up on both the left and the right, even with minimize set to on. Went on a 5,000 mile road trip in May and in Wisconsin, there were these short 100 ft right lanes that would...

What do I need for charging on road trips?

Good God, you don't need any of that stuff and you certainly don't need to plan ahead, assuming you will be on interstate highways. Third party DC chargers are so slow and unreliable, that I would never put myself in a position where I needed to use one. Doesn't hurt to have the J1772 adapter...

Realistic range Model 3 standard battery single motor

Just to add that you probably will never need to use a third party DC fast charger or a CCS adapter, unless you're really off the beaten path. They're absolutely slow and unreliable anyway and I would never put myself in a position where I needed to use one. Even the example above from Tucson to...

    FSD Beta v11.x

11.3.6 Might be late in this version, but I did several runs through Colorado Springs to see how it would signal a lane change for an exit on Assertive with minimal lane changes selected. For the far left lane, it’s all over the place, anywhere between 1.1-2 .0 miles. Once in the middle lane...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Careful, your PTSD is really showing right now. Fool me once, fool me twice, heck I'm a fool! Again, it's not my fault you listened to a huckster.
  15. C

    FSD Beta v11.x

Throttle control (both accelerating and decelerating) solves at least half of my issues on the fly. If you are on FSDb, then you are a tester. If you want to simply be a customer, go back to legacy stack or yes, just drive. It's not my fault you listened to a huckster. Newcomers, as someone...

Absolute FUD. Free money? Tesla isn't profitable? Ridiculous take
  18. C

    FSD Beta v11.x

Hesitate at a turn: Touch the pedal to encourage the car. Janky deceleration coming to a stop sign: Touch the pedal to smooth out the deceleration. This doesn't necessarily apply to you, but I feel like some testers refuse to work with the software and just expect perfection, possibly due to...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I just updated to 11.3.6 and noticed my charge curve is wonky, only getting 88 kW at 20% and 32 kW at 27% charge and up. It started at 250 kW like always and then dropped like a rock. I charged right before the update and it was normal. I noticed on the way here it didn't appear to be...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Same here, attempted to run one stop sign and one deep red light, both after just turning onto that road. But oddly enough, this is the first version I can use every day (but I've only tested 10.69 and 11.3.4) with some occasional help on the juice pedal to encourage it.

MAR2023: My Experience Driving 1,367mi Down Into California and Back

The car literally tells you when and where to stop for charging, you just have to follow along, several hours of planning not needed. For road trips, I take the battery from 60% to 10%, this takes 12 minutes to charge, so just slightly more than 5.

He lives near LA, where it's warm, fairly flat, and probably slower driving due to traffic, so he's very close to the ideal range conditions.

MAR2023: My Experience Driving 1,367mi Down Into California and Back

I'm curious, what is your lifetime wh/mi? Using flattestroute.com, there's approximately 4,300 ft of elevation gain, which really hurts this trip (especially combined with extra weight). My wife and I tried to go through southern Colorado on our first road trip (one day after getting the car)...

I believe only the Y has the tinted rear side windows, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I might not be the right person to ask about this, but I recommend tinting everything. 2023 Model 3 without USS and proximity functionality [park assist / summon not available]

I doubt Tesla even cares about those cars, especially when they're growing 50%+ year over year and a portion of those were discounted. Radar-less cars make up an even bigger portion of the fleet, (nearly 2 years) but now HD radar is available, so why not go back if it makes FSD development...

    California Window tint enforced?

Don't be afraid to live. I just roll down my front windows if I pull up next to a cop at a stoplight. In my experience, cops generally mess with speeders, young people, and those on the lower rungs of society, whom they view as potentially criminal. Driving a Tesla puts us above that unless...

Wh/km (or mi) / range grossly mis-advertised, if not fraudulent... srsly.

Poll: Will hands free driving be a big win for Tesla?

They'll shut that down before it even gets started, plus who besides whole earth drives in FSDb that much? Does Tesla just pay him to drive back and forth between LA and SF all week?

People parking next to me while charging

If the weather is good, just open the door on the side you don't want someone to park. Even better, just go to a v3 charger instead.

    Apple Music integration…

There's definitely some throttling going on, I'm in a city and it doesn't behave like any LTE connection I've had. I'm sure your phone does, but that has nothing to do with the Apple Music app in the car

MXLR rejected, Loveland, CO - mild pressure and mild BSing from the SA to take it

That's a little harsh, people should reject every one of these BS cars until Tesla invests in QC. Pushing it off onto SC's is bad business and shows their immaturity as a car company. Here's another MX gem...

Autopilot doesnt come with the car

Cool, glad to hear that! I considered an older S but wanted the warranty and newer (faster) battery since I can only supercharge, so I bought a 3. I would definitely like all the extra room the S has. Tough call at $3k, but I use AP constantly and it would be worth it for me. Maybe test drive...

Confusion on keeping the charge limit at 100% and charge fully once per week

2000 cycles on your graph represents about 260,000 miles at 50% of a full LFP pack, which covers most use cases. The data for 4000, 6000 or even extrapolation to 14000 cycles isn't valid for most users, since almost no one puts more than 500,000 miles on a car. Looking at the 2000 mark, the...

    Stuck on 2022.28.2

Somehow I get every single new update within a week, which seems to put me in the top few percent of cars on each new release. The only thing I can think of is that I download and install every new update immediately, so maybe that tells the system that I'm interested in being a tester. Maybe...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I went in for a test drive and the SA told me the demo was for sale. That was near the end of the 1st quarter, so the last 2 weeks of September is probably a good time. I did the Tesla demo tracker search and found a couple of good links also.
