Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

I'm not following you here. There are 48 proposed Supercharger stalls on the plan, and I don't see any non-charging spots. Am I somehow missing some? Is there a newer plan or another plan for another parcel?

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

Are you referring to the 4 parcels at 1114 + 1118 + 1122 + 1126 N Sycamore? The plans show all parking spaces to be Supercharger stalls, so if you're not driving an EV you'd be ICE-ing the stall if you parked there.

    Supercharger - Aurora, CO

As of Friday 6/21/24 no change except all the cones are gone.

    Charging at RV parks

Excellent point, and I would be surprised if very many RV park owners/operators know this.

Very satisfied: lightweight trailer towing with my Model Y

@StT4R So your car doesn't have Costa Rica plates? :)
  6. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

Was by there again this evening and no change other than a stack of maybe 3 orange cones has appeared next to one of the pedestals.

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

Something similar happened to me on the way from Poncha Springs, CO, to Santa Fe, NM (before the Alamosa Supercharger went live). I had Santa Fe set as the destination in Navigation, and the car kept trying to get me to go to Trinidad, but I just laughed. I ended the navigation trip until I was...

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

Thanks! Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to digging I go! (apologies to the 7 dwarves).
  9. E

    Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

In New Mexico there are at least 2. I would have visited the one on the north side of Santa Fe when I cruised by, but it was after hours.

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

Thanks, I was digging and I hadn't yet found those. Usability is not the strongest point of the LA City web sites, but I've just started to work with them so don't know all the tricks. The direct link plans are output by AutoCAD, so nice vector drawings compared to the scanned images that got...

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

The new plans also don't show the 40-ft-tall bamboo screens anymore. Wonder if those have been chopped to save space? They're really pushing to the edges of the lots and have gotten variances to go zero setback in places. They've also got plans for solar canopies on the 4 lots 1114, 1118, 1122...

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

Maybe The Boring Company will make an appearance. Interesting that LA DBS shows the Engineer is in metro Denver.

247Tesla just posted a new video update yesterday:

    Supercharger - Ely, NV

I guess just having the site be all NACS would not be that much of a block on Teslas because the vast majority of EVs on the road are Teslas anyway - so far.
  15. E

    Supercharger - Ely, NV

Have you ever heard of Telsa doing a split install, such as where one 4-post PSU is Tesla only while another 4-post PSU is open to all NACS vehicles or maybe has MagicDocks? BTW, I just called Ridley's in Ely and talked to the woman who answered the phone. She said they have not broken ground...

    Supercharger - Bernalillo, NM

I happened to go by Empire Lakewood Nissan yesterday, and I suddenly remembered their chargers, so I stopped to check them out. They have a L2 charger with a J1772 plug, which was plugged in to a Nissan Leaf. I didn't see any payment method on it, but I didn't get a photo of that and was really...
  17. E

    Supercharger - Bernalillo, NM

Almost would lead you to think they don't really care about EVs! On a positive note, Empire Lakewood Nissan, on the west side of Metro Denver, has 2 chargers out in their parking lot, very up-front and not behind a gate. I forgot what power they are because I've never used them. To their...

    Supercharger - Bernalillo, NM

It does seem that NM has some gaps! I was looking at PlugShare (as pathetic as it is in some ways) and they indeed show that there are only 2 DC fast chargers on the west side of the river. The northern one is a blink station at Perfection Honda and the other one is a ChargePoint station at...

    Keeping those bases well watered.
  20. E

Supercharger - Hollywood, CA (under construction Sep 2023, 32 stalls + diner)

I'll take them for sure, but are we having to rely on a tourist from another country for photos of something in our backyard? Come on, LA, this is in your town, and it's going to be epic! ❤️

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO - W Alaska Dr

Was taking a closer look at the document the above link points to, which is "DCFC Plazas Awards - December 2023 Funding Round". Row 42, 7171 W Alaska Dr, is this location. Column K (Total NEVI) shows $0 and Column L (Total CAE) is $320,000. This means this location is not funded by NEVI but by...

    Supercharger - Aurora, CO

Yeah, it's funny how Arvada is sitting with all the Tesla gear, waiting on a transformer, and here the transformer is waiting on all the Tesla gear.
  23. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

They sure might! That and the conduit stubs are why I was wondering if they're going to protect the bases with some sort of cap or cover.
  24. E

    Supercharger - Chemult, OR - US-97 (under construction April 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Maybe change the arrows into double-ended arrows, so it works for all vehicles. It shouldn't matter which way you pull in, unless there's something I'm not seeing.
  25. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

Fencing is down everywhere and taken away. I included some extra shots of the future expansion concrete work and capped conduit. No transformer yet.
  26. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

On the north side of the yellow brick trash structure, the fencing has been taken down. It's now stacked inside the fencing on the south side of the yellow brick structure. Cars are parked in what someday might be more stalls. That's the only change I could spot. No sign of a transformer yet.

    Supercharger - Quincy, WA

How about a TeslaBot car wash or detailing service? Schedule it from the car or your Tesla app. Available at deluxe Supercharger locations.

    New EV tire options

If that's what Tesla put on your vehicle, then that's the correct tire for your vehicle, but not mine. Also, because Tesla makes frequent changes, you have to check the door pillar labels to know the load limits.
  29. E

    New EV tire options

I think he was joking.
  30. E

    Supercharger - Ely, NV

Any word from anyone in Ely, talking to anyone in Ely, or passing through Ely if there's any progress on this station? One senior guy on the team is back. George Bahadue, Senior Manager of Site Acquisition and Business Development, commented on LinkedIn: “Two weeks ago, I was asked to return...

    New EV tire options

That's 100% true, and that's because of the factor of safety in the calculations. You want to keep your payload (passengers + cargo) at or below the rated number on the door pillar label. Just trying to help you and anyone who might read this avoid overloading their vehicle. As author Kurt...
  32. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

That would be cool. Aurora just got a transformer yesterday, so maybe Arvada's is coming soon since both use Xcel Energy.
  33. E

    New EV tire options

Exactly. If you knew for sure you were going to go slow, like turning your car into a neighborhood ice cream truck, you could get away with a lower speed rating. I've read that in some parts of the EU, it's actually illegal to mount lower-speed tires. The car is not rated for 1874 lb of...

    Supercharger - Aurora, CO

Swung by Coneville yesterday and we have a transformer. What a beauty!
  35. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean the parking spots themselves but the conduit stubs. Will they do anything to *help* prevent people from walking on or kicking the conduit stubs (and possibly cracking them). The SC stubs are short but the L2 stubs are over a foot long. Maybe put a little...

    New EV tire options

Thanks, that's 7 months after I took delivery, which is a long time in Tesla's world. The Li-ion low-voltage battery resulted in a weight savings of 26.9 lbs on the battery itself and a few more pounds on a lighter bracket. That's significant, and maybe it was just enough to allow a lower load...

    Supercharger - Durango, CO

So refreshing to see when someone considers others.
  38. E

    New EV tire options

Would be interesting to see what difference, if any, that tire downgrade has made. When did you take delivery? Tesla is known for making changes during the year, so your 2022 Model 3 LR might actually have some significant differences from mine. Did you get the Li-ion low-voltage battery? I got...

    New EV tire options

I took delivery of a 2022 Model 3 LR AWD on 2021-12-20, and it came with these: Michelin Primacy MXM4 AC P235/45R18 98W EXTRA LOAD What are the speed and load ratings of your factory tires?
  40. E

    New EV tire options

Good to hear. Not to be a scaredy-cat, but I would inspect them regularly.
  41. E

    New EV tire options

Regarding using the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S 235/45R18 94V LEX BSW on your 2022 M3LR, both the load index and speed rating are lower than the original tire, which is 98W: Load Index 94 (670 kg / 1480 lb) Load Index 98 (750 kg/ 1650 lb) That's per tire, so for all 4 you are 80 kg * 4 = 320 kg...

    New EV tire options

I found them at WallyWorld for the same price as on Amazon, US$135. Will be interesting to see how they work out and how long they last. Keep us posted!
  43. E

    New EV tire options

Good idea. Neither Discount Tire nor Tire Rack sells the Sailun brand, but Amazon is selling the Sailun ERange EV Touring 235/45R18 98W XL Electric Vehicle Tire for US$135. Is it good or is it CCC?
  44. E

    Supercharger - Quincy, WA

Indeed! The struggle is real.
  45. E

    New EV tire options

CDN$1250/1.12 = $CND1116, which at today's exchange rate is US$815. That's US$204 each, which is US$44 (18%) cheaper than Pirelli P Zero AS Plus Elect. Not that much cheaper, especially compared to the US$81 SENTURY that Discount Tire sells. Now, *that's* cheap. No thanks.
  46. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

Will also be interesting to see what they do - if anything - to protect the future-expansion SC and L2 spots. The whole thing is still fenced off.
  47. E

    Supercharger - Quincy, WA

I should have said "could have IR vision". Stations are usually lit at night, but if thieves cut the lights to hide their thieving, then it would be dark and IR sees better in the dark. Bots are not cars, so have different use cases. One case is nighttime surveillance in dark places. FSD...
  48. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

Nice, they've relocated post 2A from the PSU to the conduit stub in the ADA cutout. Now we wait on Xcel Energy for the transformer.

    Supercharger - Durango, CO

I wonder if something has changed because I hit the Las Vegas NM station in Sept 2022 and it was next to a Comfort Inn whose restrooms were super clean. Nobody but me and the front desk person were around. Trinidad, though, was and still is a different story. Restrooms were pretty bad in 2022...
