    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

Great minds think alike! I just went by there yesterday right before sunset. Your photos are better than mine, but I will add a couple shots of the existing transformer (and telecom box), both of which look like they've suffered some years of abuse. The top was off the telecom box and I...

    Supercharger - Socorro, NM

250 kW Superchargers are great if you want to minimize stopping time, like in Clayton NM at night when nothing is open, but they charge too fast if you want to stop for a leisurely meal or shop (and not have to move the car ). You can often grab take-out, but many of my Supercharger stops...

    Supercharger - Socorro, NM

Thanks, I see that now! BTW, know it's off topic here, but I wonder if Tesla will ever put a Supercharger in Taos? This last trip between Denver and Albuquerque I charged in Alamosa, and that was the only charge stop I needed. Last fall Alamosa wasn't yet built, so I charged in Poncha Springs...

    Supercharger - Quanah, TX

I would have stopped in Childress if I had known how much better it is than Quanah. This is my first time on US-287 in a Tesla, though. Maybe time for a Supercharger rating page! Maybe there already is one somewhere? Score points for: congestion friendliness general cleanliness restroom...

Supercharger - Amarillo, TX - East Interstate 40

24 more stalls should definitely help!
  6. E

    Supercharger - Socorro, NM

I've read that as well, and I guess Telsa isn't having too much of a problem with people backing into the chargers, though I saw a photo of one bent over at about a 45° angle in CA, forgot which station. This is interesting because Socorro isn't a MagicDock station. Well, at least the stall I...

    Supercharger - Clayton, NM

Heh, heh, sorry, I didn't say what day I hit that Supercharger. It was April 9.
  8. E

    Supercharger - Socorro, NM

Charged here on April 6, 2024 and saw my first Cybertruck pull up right after I did. Something else I noticed is that the tire stops seen in the Aug 15, 2022 photo are now gone and you can see where they originally were. However, after looking at the 2022 photo again, it looks like the tire...

Supercharger - Dallas - Park Ln.

Great station because it's covered and a Whole Foods is right there with nice restrooms and fresh food for the road.
  10. E

    Supercharger - Clayton, NM

This was a cool station with the pull-in stalls, but I got there about 10:30p so nothing around was open. It was about half busy, maybe because of people like me returning from the total solar eclipse in Dallas.
  11. E

    Supercharger - Pueblo, CO

This is a nice station. Used it after midnight on the way back from the total solar eclipse in Dallas. Nobody else was there. Easy access and well lit at night. Nothing open nearby at that hour, but I didn't expect anything. :)

    Supercharger - Quanah, TX

With a SC permit in Wichita Falls, next time maybe I'll charge up more there and bypass the nastiness and hit the next SC in Amarillo. All those little towns on US-287 have been speed traps in the past, and I got caught in one decades ago. This time, with the solid rain all the way from Denton...

Supercharger - Amarillo, TX - East Interstate 40

2022 M3 LR. I've hosed down the car and driven in pouring rain as well, and I've never before noticed any water in the frunk. I'm thinking it was the 8-12" of water I had to motorboat through to get in and out of the Toot 'n Totem parking lot right on US-287. Some must have splashed up through...

    Supercharger - Quanah, TX

On the way back to Denver on April 9 from the April 8 solar eclipse in Dallas, had to wait about 20 minutes for a stall to open up at this station. The Sonic was closed because of a sewer backup, and it was raining. There was deep water in the streets because apparently they don't have storm...

Supercharger - Amarillo, TX - East Interstate 40

On the way back to Denver on April 9 from the April 8 solar eclipse in Dallas, had to wait about 8 minutes for a stall to open up at this station. Had a wait of about 20 minutes at the previous stop in Quanah, and the Sonic there was closed because of a sewer backup! Anyway, it was 8:17p and...

Charging in and around Roswell, NM

My April 2024 Astronomy Tour was a success! 1) The VLA (Very Large Array) about 50 mi west of Socorro. The telescopes were in a close-packed position near the visitor center. 2) Trinity Site Marker on US-380 (couldn't visit Ground Zero because the Army cancelled the Open House that day). Not...

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO - W Alaska Dr

Heaven is excellent, and they are the 3rd operator of the location since around 2009. It's always been a good gelato/ice cream/sorbet shop, and they're keeping up the tradition. Belmar will be one of the best Supercharger locations ever because of the many great food options.

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO - W Alaska Dr

I drove to Dallas for the April 8 total solar eclipse, and I used several Superchargers around the city. My favorite one was Dallas Park Lane, which is in the parking garage next to a Whole Foods, which was a great place to use the restroom and pick up a fresh sandwich for the road. Belmar is...

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO - W Alaska Dr

Where did you see the 7337 W Alaska Dr. address? I looked at all the links you gave and so far all I see is 7171 W Alaska Dr., which is Lady Nomada restaurant. If Tesla populated 12 spots in front with Supercharger stalls, that would be a new one because where would they put the cabinets? I saw...

    Supercharger - Post, TX

I charged there on April 7, and I forgot about checking the app because I was in the car and the car knew about it.
  21. E

    Supercharger - Post, TX

Went to the car, and same here.
  22. E

    Supercharger - Post, TX

Ha! OK, that makes two of us whose app isn't showing the "Post Ghost Supercharger". I've got an Android app. You as well or on an iPhone?
  23. E

    Supercharger - Post, TX

The mystery continues! Post shows up in the car but not in the app. So I tried Tesla's trip-planning site, starting in Roswell, adding a stop in Post, with a destination in Abilene. Check out the bizarre route it gave me:

Go Fund Me for EV Charging in SE NM

I plan on stopping in at the UFO McD's next week on my way to see the eclipse in Dallas. From a 2021-02-02 photo on this thread, I saw the meter and circuit breaker panel on the pole close by. That's still there, right? BTW, just sent you a few $ on the GoFundMe page.

Go Fund Me for EV Charging in SE NM

Thanks, maybe it wasn't the same saboteurs making the rounds because the Francis Energy cable was cut. From the Checkins on the Plugshare page, it looks like it took almost a month to get it fixed (broken Feb 19 through Mar 16). It wasn't their fault the cable was cut, but Francis needs to get...

Go Fund Me for EV Charging in SE NM

Thanks, and your March 20 post said "McDs has dispensed 85MWh so far". I don't know what the average power price is in Roswell, but a friend in Albuquerque gets PNM's night rate of $0.05/kWh after 10p. At that rate, 85 MWh (85,000 kWh) * $0.05/kWh = $4250 since 2020-05-18 or about $1000/yr on...

Go Fund Me for EV Charging in SE NM

Thanks for the info. I've read about this happening elsewhere, and some people thought it was to sell the copper. Others pointed out that you won't get much for that little copper, so it's more likely EV-hating saboteurs. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and not a sign of more to come...

Go Fund Me for EV Charging in SE NM

Was the vandalism just someone turning off the circuit breaker? Years ago kids would play pranks by switching off people's main panel circuit breaker.

    Supercharger - Post, TX

Interesting that it sill doesn't show up in the app for me, though it does in the car. I rebooted my phone and tried different things. The Superchargers all around Post do show up in the app (Plainview, Lubbock, Midland, Big Spring, Sweetwater).
  30. E

    Supercharger - Post, TX

I'll be coming from Roswell, so I plan on heading east on US-380, which runs into Post, then US-84 down to I-20 and points east. Lubbock would be only 21 mi out of the way, but Plainview would be 77 mi out of the way. Will be interesting to see if there are as many wind turbines on that...

My first 2 weeks in a Model 3 Highland (RWD UK)

I set a sound to play when the car locks, so when I walk away the sound plays when I get about 10m distant. There are a bunch of sounds you can pick from in the ToyBox. Instead of an annoying loud horn, I chose the "Quack". You can put custom sounds on the USB Drive (in my 2022 Model 3 it's in...

    Supercharger - Post, TX

I just checked the map in my car and it's showing up now. I just checked the App and it's still not showing up, but Lubbock's small 4-stall station shows a ~10-min wait! [Edited: OK, a couple minutes later and Lubbock shows 1 stall open. I won't be using Lubbock next week if Post is open.]
  33. E

    Supercharger - Post, TX

Lubbock has 4 stalls. Also, the new 8-stall station in Post TX is still not showing up on my app or in the car. I wonder if it's down. In the app I set up a trip from Roswell NM to Sweetwater TX, and it should have routed through Post TX, but it went through Lubbock instead: Then I zoomed...

Most excellent! (and the cones all ended up in the corner where they can keep each other company :))

Go Fund Me for EV Charging in SE NM

Would be interesting to hear why from McDonald's. Maybe for the same reason as Target with L2 chargers? It's a way to attract people to their store. Kinda like providing a paved parking lot for free. The paving was not free, but many people wouldn't put up with a muddy dirt parking lot unless it...

    Supercharger - Post, TX

This station isn't appearing on my Tesla App yet. Interesting that Tesla's page on this station says "NACS Adapter Required to Charge at this Supercharger". That might mean they're not going to bother installing Magic Docks anymore, or at least fewer.
  37. E

    Supercharger - Arvada, CO - W 56th Ave

The City of Arvada's permit site doesn't seem to allow a direct URL to individual permits anymore, so I link to the Permit Search and you have to enter the permit #: EV24-00001 . There's no change shown as of this moment, but Sunday afternoon I was in the area and swung by to see if anything was...

Supercharger - Oklahoma City, OK - Belle Isle Blvd

When charging times were longer that was a bigger deal, but these days with a 15 to 20-min charge (or less), there's not enough time to have a meal. That happened to me at a Supercharger, and because my burger took an extra 5 minutes, I barely had time to eat it before my car was charged...

My experience with ordering and delivery (a positive review)

I had a similar smooth buying experience of a 2022 Model 3 LR AWD that I picked up on 2021-12-20. Easy, quick, friendly, no issues. Such a nice experience versus putting up with very unpleasant stealer dealer experiences in times past. :)

    Supercharger - Aurora, CO

I checked Google Maps street view, and I lucked out! The time machine shows it was Mr. Panda as of June 2019, but by the next capture in Nov 2022 it was Old Town Hot Pot. I moved away from that neighborhood in 2007 but I still visit for some of the Indian Markets in the area. It's nice to see...

Charging in and around Roswell, NM

Maybe the same reason why I still get oil change discount offers in the mail, even though I haven't had an ICE car for 2 years.
  42. E

    Supercharger - Alamogordo, NM

I was going to visit the Trinity Site on April 6, but the Army cancelled the Open House in April, so will have to wait until October 19.
  43. E

    Supercharger - Johnstown, CO

Yep, now it's showing up in the car. Seems like the car is more important to be first because it's the thing that's actually doing the navigating.
  44. E

    Supercharger - Johnstown, CO

Doesn't yet show up on my Tesla app, but it now shows up on Tesla's "Find Us" map.
  45. E

    Supercharger - Alamogordo, NM

Southeastern NM finally gets some attention!

Charging in and around Roswell, NM

Great trip report! I have a 2022 M3 AWD, which has a bit more range, and that has come in handy. Official range when new was 358 mi, and now it's about 345 mi, so about 3.6% battery degradation in 2 yrs 2 months. That extra range will help in eastern NM. Nice that you gained 7% SOC on the way...
