    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yes it's a driving aid but the thing I don't get is why my Kia can do all the TACC things in traffic without freaking out like Tesla does. I've never had a phantom brake on the Kia and it's software hasn't been updated ever. Was hoping that Tesla's software would catch up over the past year...

Everything you said sounds right. Maybe wait for another price drop? Or get the model 3? sedans are s3xy 😎

    warning tone volume adjustment?

Try turning on Joe mode, although that makes all tones and beeps 50% softer

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I'm the same with low trust level, it's the late braking of TACC and Phantom braking for me that make me wonder how Kia can get their variable cruise control so much better than a company focusing on this automation. I'll try it all of course in empty lots and empty freeways. Can't miss this...

Tesla gen 3 charger - single phase vs 3 phase for Model 3 RWD (2023 model)

The writer seems to be from the US? And the pricing reflects that too. I would love a model 3 for only $45k haha

Tesla gen 3 charger - single phase vs 3 phase for Model 3 RWD (2023 model)

Tesla gen 3 charger - single phase vs 3 phase for Model 3 RWD (2023 model)

Depends on your priorities. I'd say go for 3 phase if the cost of install is around the same. You could, however, get away with a 32A outlet and UMC/32A tail setup which could end up cheaper and still give you a 7kw charge rate Cost, charge speed, future proofing, wall connector look vs UMC...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Lol agreed. And for that other reponse implying I was a Tesla hater, that's hilarious. Love my car, just overtook 6 cars and a bus this morning in an instant and no way my CX5 could have handled that. Will be a while before Tesla is caught up to in our market. Just didn't sit well with me...

Not only that, if their cars continue to have more software glitches than the other brands like they do now, they will suffer even more

Hopefully 3 weeks is accurate. I saw a polestar the other day and it looked great, less sporty but stylish

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Cheers. The instructions weren't for 2022 models but similar enough. Not all of it is needed either, just the plug under the rear seat not the 12v. Booted itself after 5 minutes, sounded like it was gonna explode, but cameras are back lol

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I've tried these fixes multiple times with no luck. The final thing to try is a factory reset but I'm hesitant... I'm so tempted to try unplugging the 12v to see if that does anything I raised a service with Tesla as this affects my safety, will see what they say

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

New one for me today, cameras worked ok in the morning. I parked for 5 mins and came back to blank cameras. Not liking the latest update. Soft reset and power off didn't fix it

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

On 2022.20.8 for a week now and noticed phantom braking when driving next to a dual direction bike lane (raised and off the road) with cyclists on it riding opposite to my direction. My sample data isn't extensive but it hasn't happened before where I felt like a car behind would rear end me -...

or this one ;) ...honestly there are so many minor things you could check for and could spend days. Quality of the builds have improved in the past 12 months so check the major things at delivery and the rest afterwards

I wish my work laptop allowed any of this but everything is pretty much locked down. It would be nice to just plug directly into the data port and away I go Thanks though, will be a great side project with my old personal laptop

The longest EV charging network in West Australia

I just thought that in all this time to plan, the companies going for the contract would use some data to work out the more likely routes to attract EVs rather than a blanket 2 two stalls per location. Maybe they did and the government didn't want to pay. I'm glad it's moving along though
  24. Hazygrunt

The longest EV charging network in West Australia

Interesting how they are only doing 2 stalls per location

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I did this by getting online quotes with the discount incorporated, most were valid for a month. I then chose the best one a day before I picked up the car. Depends on the type of discount I guess. There was one with an "online" only discount and another with a % discount. Date didn't matter...

Western Power enforcing 32A supply allocation on rural/regional customers

The tesla app allows one to reduce the amps drawn by the UMC. Could this possibly be the workaround if they are limiting the whole house in that fashion? So limited wow, you'd have to charge Tesla at night only and possibly still limit the output through the app too. Living on the edge everyday...

gotcha... for the looks. I've got tint on all my windows and it doesn't look jarring to me having the rear bottom-half window as near-naked glass but each to their own. I'm more concerned about how small that area looks in the rear-view mirror so would want the maximum visibility out of it
  30. Hazygrunt

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

i was recommended not to tint the roof as it's a waste of money and you'd also want some sun to come through during winter months. The glass is already tinted to the equivalent of the darkest legal tint. is the reason for privacy, UV or heat? Maybe better off getting a sunshade instead for...

The Universal Mobile Connector is no longer standard equipment with new orders after 8 July 2022??

I agree, no doubt mathematically it's indifferent but I thought it was more about the "Tesla experience" or "psychological" as you describe. I mean most people buying a Tesla wouldn't or shouldn't even blink at an extra $550/$800 But I reckon it's like when I bought my first smart phone, it...

The Universal Mobile Connector is no longer standard equipment with new orders after 8 July 2022??

Just curious, why do you stow the UMC? I have a type 2 to type 2 for emergency charges but surely it would be rare to use the UMC on the road unless it was a road trip?

The Universal Mobile Connector is no longer standard equipment with new orders after 8 July 2022??

this sucks for new buyers, if anyone drives less than 100km a day then the UMC does a great job
