    CCS Adapter - ?

    There is nothing to brick. It is a passive adapter. You can twist wires together to make your own. Only have to worry about the quality of the connection and sufficient cross sectional area of the conductors to make sure it doesn't overheat and melt with 100kw+ charging.

    CCS - buy now or wait?

    If you're really trying to save every dollar and have good working electrical knowledge, you could always build your own. Search tesla supercharger cable on e bay. Then go to junk yard and get a CCS type 1 port off a wrecked car, project box, cable gland, some connectors and assemble.
