Doubt it. Not unless Musk got a wild hair up his behind and decided to start doing LIDAR. It is probably just standard maintenance and refurbishment. And they probably decided to do it when most employees will be taking time off anyway for summer vacations.

So I went ahead and prepaid a year for premium connectivity today for $99 (pro tip: this can only be purchased in the car, in the app you can only subscribe monthly for $9.99/mo). I got this notice that my trial now ends 08/07 instead of 07/15 so I got a free three extra weeks out of it.

I wish I could tolerate the clunky tech in the other competitors. Probably won’t find another EV with as much innovation, performance, and tech until Apple releases theirs a few years from now. Maybe polestar or Rivian could get there, but I’m not holding my breath. Tesla has enough of a lead...

I get that, but do you REALLY want to test that argument? That’s basically what it came down to for me.

So I just finished my homelink install and I asked the tech about installing a yoke and he was very firm that it does void the warranty because it’s housing a safety device and is one of the most important parts of the car in emergency situations. He also said it could potentially cause issues...

There’s zero chance of triggering the airbag, the installation is actually really easy. I thought about that on trips as well but I think it would just take some getting used to. I figure if I end up hating it I’ll just sell it.

The more I think about it I might be take off the DM P badges. I did CF for the Tesla logos and now it just looks tacky to me and I think I prefer the more subtle/stealth look with no extra badges

I WFH and only drive for pleasure/need. So my car will always have very low mileage which will make up for any chips that I might get along the way should I choose to sell/trade-in my car. That’s why I chose not to go PPF. And right now I don’t see myself doing that for a very long time.
