    Gen3 Dual Charger Load Sharing

My installation was approved by 2 master electricians, it's up to code and I'm also an electrical engineer. A tap connector is allowed to split a circuit, each Gen3 charger is protected by it's own 60amp breaker. Putting a sub-panel with 2 60amp breaker with be the exact same results, it's in...

    Gen3 Dual Charger Load Sharing

Tesla requires a 60amp breaker to run their chargers at max current output of 48amp when using a single charger.

    Gen3 Dual Charger Load Sharing

The wiring is split in a separate junction box using "Polaris IPL250-3B multi-tap insulated connector", you can't hookup three separate 6 AWG wires on a single "marrette" type twist connector. My installation is absolutely done to code, having an additional sub-panel just to split my circtuit...

    Gen3 Dual Charger Load Sharing

When using Gen3, you setup the max current as per you main circuit via the browser connection for all the Gen3 that will be sharing the main circuit. You can actually share 6 on one circuit. But all chargers need to be part of the load sharing group, this way any combination of charger current...

    Gen3 Dual Charger Load Sharing

To clarify. Gen3 can share load of a single breaker, up to 6 Gen3 can share one load. But as per Tesla load sharing installation manuals, each charger still needs an individual breaker. In Ontario a disconnect is required at the charger, those two small boxes hooked up to each charger is a...

    GEN 3 load sharing question

Thanks, you are right on sucking a bit more current on 4 hours extra charging time. But I really doubt it comes even close to 100 watts, it's only a relay and a few electronics that is activated in the charger module and relays take little current. Anyway, thanks for the information, I wasn't...

    GEN 3 load sharing question

How can it be more efficient charging at 48 instead of 24? At 24 it takes twice the time and typically puts less stress on a battery.

    GEN 3 load sharing question

Hi all, I have a simple question for anyone using two Gen3 wall connectors using the same circuit. I will be adding a second charger on my 60amp circuit. My question is, when doing load sharing, If only one charge is in use, does it limit it to 24amps or can I get the 48 amps when required...

    Extending Wall connector cable

I'm not looking for an actual extension. I want to extend the cable itself while keeping the original Tesla handle connector.

    Extending Wall connector cable

As anyone ever extended the length of the wall connector charging cable? I need an extra 10 feet and I don't want to use an extension cable. I was thinking of getting an other charging cable, cut out the handle and just extend my current cable by 10 to 15 feet. As anyone ever done this??
