Driveguard Runflats on a Model 3

Can you update us on how these drive guards are working for you, including efficiency? I’m considering them for my M3 when the time comes. Have them on my Volt for past 3 years and I did notice some efficiency drop, most noticeable when the tires were new ( normal)

What's the fastest way to start a CCS charge session?

I have tried to charge via a free CCS charger at a local GM dealer in Florida but it has never worked. I had assumed it was a faulty charger but now discovered it will work if you follow a certain ( somewhat illogical procedure IMO). Previously I plugged in everything and hit start on the CCS...

    Off topic galore

Funny that we saw 3 Tesla M3 cars in Santorini yesterday, our driver said there actually 5 on the island. We spotted the only public charger on the island and Plugshare shows it broken. Curious to find out how they actually get non routine repair done though.

Aftermarket blind spot warning / monitoring / detection for side mirrors

I just added 2” convex mirrors to the side mirrors. Now I can see the blind spot easily without having to look over to the screen and back to the mirror before deciding to change lanes. This is particularly annoying to move to the left using only the Tesla supplied system. Old school for sure...

Paying Tesla bill in two countries (USA & Canada)

The problem with currency conversion is that most cards charge an extra 2-3% on top of the exchange rate. If it’s just a one day excursion it really doesn’t matter but we spend all winter in Florida

Paying Tesla bill in two countries (USA & Canada)

We have had a few problems switching from US credit card ( UScard/ US address) to Canadian credit card ( Cd $/ Cdn address) because it involves changing your home address in the portal and in the app ( they don’t talk to each other) Portal is sometimes stubborn about changing countries and takes...

Show your park assist videos (non-USS only)

Just read article that says Tesla service quietly disconnecting USS sensors via an added no charge line item to any work order. You need to tell the shop to STOP or it’s done automatically. https://www.thedrive.com/news/tesla-quietly-disconnecting-radar-in-customer-cars-during-service-visits

Ontario overnight ultra low rate announced

I was on an experimental rate similar to this a few yers ago with Alectra. At the time the night time rate was about 2 cents, daytime rate was high. We charged the car at night, ran the dryer and AC hard at night. The cold house in the morning mostly carried us thru the hot day. Savings were...

Help: Horrific battery draining while parked in long term parking structure - I've got 12 days to go

I left my M3 long range parked for 17 days ( south Florida) while I was in the Antarctic and was pleasantly surprised to find it only lost 3% in all that time. Sentinel mode was off, as well as auto cooling etc. I didn’t check in with the app so not to awaken car ( internet was so crappy I...

Paying Tesla bill in two countries (USA & Canada)

We changed our address under ACCOUNT-PROFILE, and it allowed us to put in the US addess. Then we put in the US credit card in PAYMENT METHOD. We took out our Canadian card. Not sure if it took our US address right away but we were able to put it in Payment method in the app with our...

Yes we did this on the way to Florida . Changed address to our US address in the Tesla portal ( website) and then put US credit card info into the payment section of the app. Worked

Lug nuts way under torqued from Fremont CA

I just added locking lug nuts to my M3AWD. I re torqued all the lug nuts to 129, and found I got about 1/8 to 1/4 turn on them to reach spec. The lug nut that I removed for the locking nut required very little effort to loosen. More than hand tight but I would guess somewhere around 100 Ft lbs...

Which electrical charger installation proposals should I pick?

Your lights dimming on the existing panel is immediate concern. You didn’t specify what type of furnace ( gas, electric?) but in any case it’s an indicator of a loose connection or possibly a bad breaker. This should be checked into no matter what option you take.

Tell me the truth! I won't be offended.

Why not? I added this back in 2016 to my Volt

    Supercharger - Gananoque, ON

Nearby the new Gananoque Supercharger station is a Tim Hortons. It’s just out of view of the construction photo. About a 4 min walk. An interesting bit of information is that about 30-40% of the power for this charger comes from locally sourced hydro electric plants in the area. Depends on the...

Paying Tesla bill in two countries (USA & Canada)

I called Tesla account services today because we are in the same position as S & E Orillia, living in 2 countries. they said you cannot change your region address ( ie country) in the app. You need to change to your US address by logging into the Tesla portal and then entering your US credit...

Paying Tesla bill in two countries (USA & Canada)

Can anyone provide details of what Tesla said to do about changing the profile address to a different country so that the local credit card will work? Calling Tesla each time does not sound like a good work around

I found a semi automatic way of doing this my using Google My Maps ( not just Google maps). After logging in with your Google acct it allows you to...
