Non-Tesla / non-EVgo station with built in Tesla CCS adapter

Eh kWh is just kWh/h. A charging rate of 50 kW means the charging output is 50 kWh per hour. It’s like saying doing 65 miles in a 70 instead of doing 65 miles per hour. Not a big deal.

2024 Chevy Blazer EV: Up to 320 mile range, MSRP between $45-$66k, plus a “Police Pursuit” model

I’ll let you google that. But every single Tesla vehicle is a high end EV, performs and is priced as such.

2024 Chevy Blazer EV: Up to 320 mile range, MSRP between $45-$66k, plus a “Police Pursuit” model

Almost anyone looking to buy a high end EV will be getting a Tesla. This product is designed for an entirely different market segment, people who want to pay half as much for a car that’s half as good.

    Tesla MYLR Reservation Options?

You can sell the car or the reservation for a profit. There’s huge demand for this car, especially with the year-long lead time. I would check out several For Sale threads to gauge how much you can charge. There’s also a whole sticky thread on transferring reservations. I’ve done one myself.

2024 Chevy Blazer EV: Up to 320 mile range, MSRP between $45-$66k, plus a “Police Pursuit” model

If I were cheap and still wanted an EV, I’d likely put my money on a Bolt. I believe a car maker becomes better following a recall as they learn from experience and try to minimize chances of another expensive recall. The Bolt, being an EV, would save the owner a lot of money in the long run. If...

Mismanaged - The Problem With Government-Funded EV Chargers (TMC Podcast Clip)

Glad to see another proponent of nuclear energy on here. If we want to replace oil and gas as energy sources, nuclear is the way to go. Solar, wind, and thermal are all expensive due to low efficiency, while hydro causes massive ecological problems.

For recent buyers in CA applied to CVRP rebate

Do you still qualify for the rebate if you’ve already sold your vehicle? I’m thinking of selling my car but my rebate application is still being processed.

What's your next EV after Tesla?

That’s a bold prediction. I’ll believe it when I see it. My theory is that the controls are supposed to be used through voice command. I tell my car to turn up or down the AC, to show energy consumption, to play certain songs on Spotify, etc. Otherwise the menu is too difficult to navigate...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

I don’t know if I care that much about software. Driving experience and range are what made me get a Tesla. I’m still exploring the software functionalities even after driving thousands of miles which I absolutely enjoyed.

    CCS Adapter - ?

You may need to pull the trigger now. Ebay prices are going up rapidly. It’s 450 today. May go up to 1k in a few weeks once inventory completely dries out.

Has anyone traded their 3 for a Y and regretted it?

I too am considering a switch. I have a 22 Model 3 LR and a Model Y reservation for delivery in a month. While I have absolutely loved the zippiness, handling, and range of the M3, my commute to work has some bumpy sections which make for a rough ride at times. This is my primary reason to...

Tesla CCS1 adapter in West LA - brand new

I bought 2 of these and am using 1. The other one, still brand new and sealed, is for sale. I was thinking of keeping it for backup, but if somebody wants it, I’ll let it go for $375

2021 Y CCS Upgrade DIY: My experiance

45 kW is not too bad. Half an hour of charging can get you almost 100 miles of range.

    Another charging battery life thread

This is an advanced question to which I don’t think there is an answer. Generally the more you drive, the less state of charge matters since the car won’t be staying at a high state of charge for too long. And the more you drive, the more frequently you charge anyway. So in a way, just let...

CCS - buy now or wait?

This EA cost per kWh is incredibly cheap by any standard.

CCS - buy now or wait?

Yes, really. The amount of money spent on these stalls dwarfs in comparison to other programs the state has implemented to incent electric vehicles.

CCS - buy now or wait?

Exactly. Also, some dcfc stations are provided for free by utility companies.

CCS - buy now or wait?

There’s a whole thread out there on retrofitting Tesla cars to make them CCS compatible.
  22. T

CCS - buy now or wait?

Low chances the adapter will be less than $300 in the US. Even if it were cheaper it wouldn’t be by more than 50 bucks. I’d just buy the thing now to save yourself the peace of mind. You’re already spending 70k on a car. What difference does 50 dollars make?

    California tax benefit for trade-in - what's the %?

Zero tax on EVs? I should’ve moved to NJ for a month just to pick up my Tesla.

    Don’t summon your vehicle

You may be new to Tesla. Any high-tech features are basically their tests with risk to the user. Autopilot, FSD, summon, etc all need human supervision. These functions work most of the time, maybe 99% of the time. But they won’t be flawless, at least not for a while. If you’re not ok with this...

    California tax benefit for trade-in - what's the %?

This is correct. The sales tax on my Tesla was exactly 9.5% of the total price which includes destination fee and order fee.

When will Tesla modernize OTA updates?

Clearly. Everyone has figured out a solution, except OP. No, the process must be built around his exact personal circumstances.
  27. T

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Yes, yes you can. It’s called supply and demand. When demand exceeds supply, you must raise prices. And likewise, when supply exceeds demand, you must lower prices. This is the most basic economics.

Recent Road Trip Report with Stats and photos

Since OP’s SC cost was $31 rather than $69, SC accounted for about 45% of the total charge. So more than half of the juice came from destination chargers.

When will Tesla modernize OTA updates?

This is probably due to security concerns. I’ve often been told I’m not supposed to use public wifi networks for work-related stuff because those networks are not secure.

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Tesla never touched this market which traditionally was dominated by the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Bolt. Now this space is getting even crowded. Tesla should not touch this market with a ten-foot pole until they bring to the market a product that’s clearly superior, the same way they have...

Tesla Y Delivery Time-Orange County Ca

There’s no way you’re getting your Model Y in the next few weeks unless someone gives up their reservation with the exact same configuration. You can check the November Orders thread - many people who ordered before you had their delivery dates pushed out to August.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I had no idea charging 10% each time prolongs battery life by 10x over charging 60% each time. Blows my mind.

Ah that explains it. I was so confused when the tutorial video instructed me to click the T symbol and there was no such a thing on my screen.
