I was hoping at tesla will do a trial error, since change oil is a easy job, not like replacing drive unit

That is very disappointing…. I head from pervious owner that even they replace the FDU it is still making the noise, it is the manufacturer FDU problem…. Thats why i still believe it is the oil in the FDU

when you listen to it, listen with the speaker on your phone, and put your ear close to the phone speaker, and ignore the air noise road noise, focus on the background little noise. does not need to turn the volume way up you still can hear it...

i read a Chinese tesla forum that he get tesla service to preform a front drive unit oil change and solve the cricket noise issue. he mention that the oil in the drive unit is not enough from the manufacture. not sure if that is true

I did though about brake issue too but. Was your noise intermediate, or it was constant? My noise is not constant but it is always there. If my car warms up it will be more faint

that exactly the noise with my model y, (zzzZzzzz noise) i don't know y SC always say they did not hear anything. My model y was deliver end of August 2022, are u all roughly deliver around this period?? My guess is there maybe some bad batch of parts being install on these time frame.

I see the secondary door seal is not touch / sealing the body frame. Dirt gets into threshold. If the secondary seal seal completely i think it will help with road noise too. Anyone have the same issue?

Is there a way to raise this issue so tesla can recall those bad batch of front motor drive unit ?

We are all jn the same boat being not able to fix this noise issue from tesla service. They will say either not able to hear the noise OR even they hear it, they will say it is within tesla spec.

Ed i went yo the one at vaughan too, the technical was sitting beside me and he said he did not hear anything (but i can hear it very well while on the test drive). To me, they like try to avoid it OR tesla will takecare of it only when yhe noise is very abvious
