    Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

Thanks, FSTech, I don't think there's any need to apologize, especially considering that the information and images you provide pretty much drive this thread. Thanks again,

Any updates on InyoKern ? Could it be live ?

    Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

The first time I had a project with a standoff riser was maybe 14 or 15 years ago. An SDGE planner told me that the utilities started doing it because after 2 or 3 risers are attached to a pole, it's difficult for a linesman to safely climb it.

The sign for new handicap/SC spot at Barstow isn't a regular handicap warning. It says "please give priority" or something along that line. I would definitely charge while hovering if other three spots were full.

If you zoom in to the middle leave-out in FSTech's 1st or 2nd new pic (post 48, thank you FSTech), you can see a small concrete vault (hand hole) set flush in the new slab, just in front of the leave out, where PurpleWalt remembered the electrical conduits sticking up in post 35. I was at...

    Supercharger - Mojave, CA (EXPANDED Dec 2021, 6 V2 + 4 V3 + 2 urban stalls)

Agreed, you'd think they could have put the SC farther out in the lot, in less competitive spots, maybe even with a solar canopy, but maybe between the city, utility, shopping center management and tennants, this spot was simply the best available option.

Traveling 395 East of the Sierras: Planning Charging and Energy Usage

The Director at the Lone Pine film Museum told me (1/28/15) that there was ongoing discussion in Bishop and that a SC site had not yet been chosen.

Is it just me, or is that array pointed towards the North West ?

    Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

Thanks again FSTech, for photos. I agree shadows tell the story. My guess is that the stanchions will probably be against the building, away from traffic (like new Barstow canopy) to reduce fender benders. The array could tilt down from them (unlike Barstow) towards South. With regard to who...

    Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

Agree with all your points, PW. Double wide solar array would be awesome. Maybe a heavy duty structure like Barstow, but tilted down from stanchions towards south. (Store owners would probably see major savings on AC with entire southern exposure shaded by large array) Jumbo array pumping juice...

Nice pics, I am scrutinizing for the canopy foundations. I would guess against the building, maybe beneath the square wooden boxes ? Thanks again for taking time to get the pictures,

    Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

Exactly right. I was coincidentally at Barstow SC yesterday. The concrete bases of the sturdy legs of the solar canopy are round. Pretty sure they are the tops of the same type of column.

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

Museum manager and a couple of staffers greeted me as soon as I plugged in, so did not record peak charge level. I glanced in and it was 330 ~ miles of rated charge per hour, so it's full strength. started with almost full charge (85kwh) in OC this morning, topped off at Barstow, cruised up...

Curious about those large rebar cages in pictures. In my experience, those would be the skeletons of large concrete columns. I don't recall seeing large concrete columns at any SC sites. Supports for super heavy duty solar array to withstand desert winds ?

Supercharger - Redondo Beach (LIVE 20 Jan 2015, 8 stalls)

I predict that Tesla is going to close the Hawthorne Supercharger for security reasons, and is building this West Los Angeles Cluster of Superchargers to draw down traffic at Hawthorne and mute criticism before they do so. Anybody with a Model S (easily rented) can drive onto the SpaceX...

InyoKern SC actually under construction. Good detective work FSTech and Yombad.

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

Silverthorne is spectacular (nice pic). I meant to compliment the beauty of the Owens Valley and Eastern Sierra Nevada, but there must be plenty of picturesque SC backdrops across North America, Asia Pacific and Europe. I've browsed the threads of sites under construction and was struck by Red...

    Supercharger - Mojave, CA (EXPANDED Dec 2021, 6 V2 + 4 V3 + 2 urban stalls)

I haven't tried them, but Anthony's is open for business. Guessing they're happy to have first crack at Tesla travelers. Food options in Mojave are certainly limited. Anthony's has good reviews online.

    Supercharger - Manteca, CA - Perimeter Drive (LIVE 12 Feb 2015, expanded 12 Dec 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

Yeah, since the underpass is North of the Southbound exit and South of the Northbound exit, it's very easy to miss if you're just hitting the Arco. I drove through in August, but was not paying attention to Manteca SC developments at the time, so no idea about fragrance issue.

    Supercharger - Manteca, CA - Perimeter Drive (LIVE 12 Feb 2015, expanded 12 Dec 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

There is an underpass that connects the Mossdale (N) and Manthey (S) exits off the concurrent stretch of the I5 and the I205/120, so drivers could exit and reenter easily from either directon.

    Supercharger - Manteca, CA - Perimeter Drive (LIVE 12 Feb 2015, expanded 12 Dec 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

The Mossdale (N) and Manthey (S) exits on the West side of Manteca would be ideal. They are the only exits on the short stretch where the I-5 and I-205/120 (Bay Area to Yosemite) run concurrently. Not much there; an arco station and a Fruit stand/cafe. It's 172 miles to Corning, long haul for...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

Problem with SJC is that it's too close to South OC suburbs and locals use it. I was surprised Tesla didn't put it in San Clemente or Oceanside. Lone Pine will be feast or famine. I bet there will be days on end without a charge in Spring and Fall, but there'll be a wait Friday evenings and...

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

Yes and No, there is a large project that is re-making the 5/74 interchange, but even without construction, downtown SJC is not very free flowing traffic-wise. It can be really bad on weekends and especially during the summer. I would take the Camino Capistrano exits.

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

Drove by about 20 minutes ago, 2 or 3 guys I would guess are technicians, covers pulled off of charging stations ( terminals exposed) and 3 nice-looking model Ss, lurking, waiting to be 1st, 2nd and 3rd to charge at SJC. - - - Updated - - - Drove by about 20 minutes ago, 2 or 3 guys I would...

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

A word to those who are not regular SJC drivers: The traffic in the downtown area is often very slow, summer and weekends are worse. With the 5/74 interchange project underway, traffic this summer could be really bad, weekends awful. Take the Camino Capistrano Exit (1st exit South of Ortega...

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

I stopped by the site a few hours after WNB took pics. The curbs around the transformer pads were formed up and Utility lateral ducts (conduit from SDGE to transformer locations) are in, so it doesn't seem that any more major trenching will be necessary. Crew very friendly, laughed and told me...
