I had an EDD Jan/Mar 2023. On the 20 Oct. I got an update to 25 Oct/8 Nov. On the 27 Oct, the EDD became 3 Nov/18 Nov. When you get close to the date, Tesla will send an email with the steps. This is the mail content:

From this point of view the reason may be that if they mess up with Tesla accessories, they can replace them internally without disbursement. If they mess with aftermarket accessories, they probably cannot keep track of the market prices and therefore they can be forced to pay more then what...

Sound ridiculous to me! Not the price, but the excuse. What's the difference between original and aftermarket wheels and tires if you are charging for a service? Soo fun!

That's a crazy EDD change dude! I have the feeling what happened to your friend is only happening with the gemini wheels, white color, black interior (the basic and cheaper configuration)
