Just got my reg & VIN, and no insurers recognize the RWD Y. It’s not even listed on the drop-down menu so as far as the insurers are concerned, it doesn’t exist.

Are you keeping your car until the wheels fall off? If so it might be worth it otherwise if you are changing cars every few years it’s a definite no-no as unfortunately FSD doesn’t stick to your account.

4680 batteries offer no benefit to the consumer, it literally just makes battery production cheaper for Tesla and I somehow doubt they will pass the savings onto the customer.

Just to add, LFP batteries will last longer than nickel-based counterparts. 5000+ cycles which equates to over a million miles assuming a cycle is 250mi.

MY RWD still showing EDD of Nov-Dec and there’s some that popped up in new inventory. Either demand has sunk or people just don’t know about the RWD.

In the UK Tesla supports a third party warranty extension by up to another 4 years.

As much as I’d like to see a price cut I don’t think it’s going to happen. Even after the 20% price hike Model 3’s are selling faster than they can make them, same goes for the Model Y. If the market is willing to accept the price hike then there’s no reason for Tesla to reduce it.

Pros: -LFP battery which is said to last a million miles (or 5000 cycles), can hold 100% without consequence and has more range than the 2019. -Likely has better build quality than 2019 -better headlights, heat pump, powered boot, rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, refreshed interior...

EDD’s for new Tesla’s in the configurator have come down dramatically, which probably has a part in it.

A Vanilla Model 3 in the configurator now has an EDD of Jan-March, up from April-June.

Tesla have put all their eggs in one basket with the “Vision only” approach and ditching radar. Vision + Radar is the way, but then again I’m not a Tesla engineer so what do I know?

I reckon the Model Y could see a decrease in price to be a bit more competitive vs the Ioniq 5 & EV6 in future.

Production of Model Y is being ramped up, and it shows, if the EDD of the configurator is anything to go by. But with scares of rising interest rates, going into recession and rising energy costs etc I wonder if Tesla will sell as much as they hope to sell with the prices they are asking for.

Good if you can afford a new Model S/X. Who knows, maybe they’ll introduce an option to upgrade the MCU that comes with a graphics card so current Model 3/Y owners can game too.

The lead times for MY RWD + LR are shockingly low at the moment, I suppose there may be a chance of a price cut if they can’t shift them.
