Unable to get Model Y Rear Wheel Drive Insurance

Still can’t get any meaningful quotes, so I’m holding off on buying until the insurers update their system. Even directline has it incorrectly listed as having 637hp which probably doesn’t help premiums. I can get quoted cheaper on a MYLR vs MY RWD, it’s ridiculous.

6,000 Free Supercharger Miles for Taking Delivery by Dec 31st

They are pushing for sales of the RWD models in particular. You can grab a £3k discount on a “demo” car with less than 50 miles along with the 6,000 miles free supercharging, which easily saves you about £2k at current electricity prices.

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

You can get roughly a £4k discount on M3RWD on demo inventory cars, or a £3k discount on a brand new inventory car (Which was its old price back before the June price hike)

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

Depends if you ordered your Tesla before the price hike.

Unable to get Model Y Rear Wheel Drive Insurance

Even Tesla’s insurer of choice, DirectLine doesn’t recognize the RWD.
  6. H

    Model Y RWD 2023 Insurance

Just got my reg & VIN, and no insurers recognize the RWD Y. It’s not even listed on the drop-down menu so as far as the insurers are concerned, it doesn’t exist.

    MYP UK Waiting Room

Are you keeping your car until the wheels fall off? If so it might be worth it otherwise if you are changing cars every few years it’s a definite no-no as unfortunately FSD doesn’t stick to your account.
  8. H

    Model Y UK Delivery

Not yet, haven’t even got my VIN yet, all I have is a pickup date on the 28th Nov.
  9. H

    Model Y UK Delivery

Can’t even find any insurers that recognize the RWD Model Y yet. It’s a little infuriating as getting insurance earlier often saves you money.

EAP and FSD price at UK

FSD is a scam in the UK at the moment. Tesla are focused on making FSD for USA roads and have left everyone else out, hence the lower price vs USA. Also if you aren’t keeping the car long term, FSD is a complete waste of money. But if you are keeping it until the wheels fall off, there’s a...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

If people don’t kick up a fuss about it Tesla will do as they please. I just want to know how functional the replacement will be, but there’s not even a peep about it so far which is a bit concerning.

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

4680 batteries offer no benefit to the consumer, it literally just makes battery production cheaper for Tesla and I somehow doubt they will pass the savings onto the customer.
  13. H

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

Waiting times have come down dramatically, it’s pretty much Jan-March for all models now. Still doesn’t stop 3rd party sellers from taking advantage of impatient buyers though. WBAC might be offering a lower price but rest assured it will appear somewhere with a £57k+ price tag.

Autopilot brake-checking HGVs in slow traffic

Clean your cameras and make sure you are on the latest OTA update is the best you can do, otherwise you are pretty much experiencing what many others experience with the sub-par vision-only Autopilot.

33 Model Y RWD on inventory!

If it was priced closer to the Ioniq 5/EV6 RWD versions it would probably sell extremely well.
  16. H

33 Model Y RWD on inventory!

There’s RWD Model 3’s available too, which is interesting as people are still waiting on Model 3’s which they ordered months ago. Also the RWD Y hasn’t been advertised that much and I think it was only put on the store a few months ago.

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

Just to add, LFP batteries will last longer than nickel-based counterparts. 5000+ cycles which equates to over a million miles assuming a cycle is 250mi.

    Model Y UK Delivery

My theory is that Tesla don’t care for customers who placed their order before the price hike(s). They want to sell as many Tesla’s as they can at the “New” price to satisfy their Q4 earnings, hence why inventory stock has popped up before they even give waiting customers first dibs. But of...

    Model Y UK Delivery

I find it interesting that there are people waiting for MYLR’s still and Tesla put some up on inventory. I would have thought they would offer them to their waiting customers first…

    Model Y RWD Now available

Lots of Model 3 RWD available too, must have had a large shipment in.

    Model Y UK Delivery

MY RWD still showing EDD of Nov-Dec and there’s some that popped up in new inventory. Either demand has sunk or people just don’t know about the RWD.
  25. H

    Model Y UK Delivery

Just had a text to book in my collection for MY RWD. 26th Nov. Still no VIN for me though.
  26. H

    Where are demo cars registered?

I wouldn’t worry about it until you get the NIP. No need to call them etc.

EAP and FSD price at UK

Tesla have been doing this for ages. They use it at as excuse to bump up the already outrageous prices of their used car stock.

EAP and FSD price at UK

In the UK Tesla supports a third party warranty extension by up to another 4 years.
  29. H

    Model Y UK Delivery

My base RWD Y is said to be here 17 Nov-1 Dec. Got the text yesterday on the “arrival date being calculated”. No VIN yet.

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

As much as I’d like to see a price cut I don’t think it’s going to happen. Even after the 20% price hike Model 3’s are selling faster than they can make them, same goes for the Model Y. If the market is willing to accept the price hike then there’s no reason for Tesla to reduce it.

2019 SR+ to a New Rear wheel drive base model

Pros: -LFP battery which is said to last a million miles (or 5000 cycles), can hold 100% without consequence and has more range than the 2019. -Likely has better build quality than 2019 -better headlights, heat pump, powered boot, rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, refreshed interior...

    Purchased a used Model X from Tesla - Issues/concern

That’s ridiculous, especially considering that Tesla like to add a premium to their “approved” used vehicles. I hope you get it resolved soon.

    Model Y 2023 Upgrades

Does the removal of parking sensors count as an “upgrade”?
  34. H

Is this a model X, Model 3, or Model Y? [Fatal Tesla Model Y accident 10/18/22 in Stuart, FL]

LFP batteries are less likely to catch fire, (Supposedly BYD Blade doesn’t) but sadly they are only used on standard range models due to the weight. Electric cars are still generally safe, and I’d consider this incident an outlier. Even the safest car in the world probably won’t save you if...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

They should have perfected “vision only” parking before removing USS. But seeing as Vision AP still isn’t up to par with the old Radar AP, I don’t have much hope that they will perfect it. Model 3 starts from £48k, and it will have no USS and for now there’s no replacement for it, not even a...

    WBAC Shock

EDD’s for new Tesla’s in the configurator have come down dramatically, which probably has a part in it.
  38. H

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

A Vanilla Model 3 in the configurator now has an EDD of Jan-March, up from April-June.
  39. H

    Tesla Self Parking

Tesla have put all their eggs in one basket with the “Vision only” approach and ditching radar. Vision + Radar is the way, but then again I’m not a Tesla engineer so what do I know?
  40. H

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

Assuming everyone here has ordered the M3 before the price hikes, would you buy a Model 3 RWD now at its current price of £48,490?
  41. H

    Price hike

I reckon the Model Y could see a decrease in price to be a bit more competitive vs the Ioniq 5 & EV6 in future.
  42. H

    Price hike

Production of Model Y is being ramped up, and it shows, if the EDD of the configurator is anything to go by. But with scares of rising interest rates, going into recession and rising energy costs etc I wonder if Tesla will sell as much as they hope to sell with the prices they are asking for.
  43. H

    Steam game platform integration

Good if you can afford a new Model S/X. Who knows, maybe they’ll introduce an option to upgrade the MCU that comes with a graphics card so current Model 3/Y owners can game too.
  44. H

Standard Range Model Y Delivery Group

The lead times for MY RWD + LR are shockingly low at the moment, I suppose there may be a chance of a price cut if they can’t shift them.
