Is the new Macan EV a MY killer?

This is really ignorant. Wealth is often a result of recognizing value, quality for the dollars over quantity of the dollars. While it may be true some MY owners couldn’t afford a Porsche, that does not equate to most MY buyers, (what, by virtue of their having bought a MY..?)cannot afford...

    Model Y crossbar

I have used sea sucker’s monkey bars for a while and have no complaints. On and off in a minute, bikes, roof box, material. Oddly enough, I just used one of the cups to pull out a dent in the 1/4 panel. They’re handy.

    Road trip questions

I have done this a lot and it works like a charm as long as you aren’t doing 80 or more and using more energy than expected. Take a screen shot of the list under the ABRP route and choose the next SC when you plug in. This also takes care of your arrival soc. ABRP is great, but as time goes...

My 5+ years of "low maintenance" ownership

That’s rough, seems like they have gotten much better since then—at 40k miles, I have spent 0. Yours does look great. Hope it gets better from here.

    2013 model S

I believe keeping them between 20 and 80 is ideal. 100 is doable but generally not recommended.

    Roadtrip in a P85D

Just curious, does it only charge at 150?

1 week after delivery couldn't be happier 2 x 2023 Model Y Performance red and blue

My wife was not deterred by these attempts at protection. She saw their rubber edge and raised them seven or eight curb rashes on all four wheels.

What have you hit with your rear hatch recently?

Hit the garage door on day one, immediately called a garage door place and they added a foot of track below the bend in the door rails to raise the resting height—nothing since.

Upgrade to X from Y for young family?

Don’t you lose the option to fold all the seats down in a six seater? That would be a deal breaker for me, it’s not often you need it but when you do… how else does one move large items without hauling a trailer? The flat deck of all seats folded down is invaluable when we taxi our older kids...

    Model S&X Price Adjustments

They can afford to follow interest rates and ensure the macro environment doesn’t affect sales, so they do. Further, it really depends upon what the stated goal is—they have always said it was to further the transition to sustainable energy/transportation, keeping people switching to EVs. I...

1 week after delivery couldn't be happier 2 x 2023 Model Y Performance red and blue

Our MYPs were about a month apart. She had a Polestar2 that would no longer suffice after I brought home the first MYP. Can’t say I blame her. When people ask why we have two, I always say we only have a two car garage, no room for a third.

Tesla Model Y build quality, manufacturing refinement and assembly

I sold a Polestar 2 and bought our second MYP. Huge improvement over the glitchy and inefficient P2.

Tesla Model Y build quality, manufacturing refinement and assembly

I think the MY is nice enough for the price. When you consider what all they have packed into it, and the reliability of the updates and charging, the interior is fair. Imagine what you would pay for the package you get from Tesla if produced and sold by one of the big three.

    2022 Model 3 LR - Hit a deer

Picked it up Friday, seven weeks after hitting the deer, six weeks to the day since it arrived at the shop that did the repair. While it felt like an eternity I think we were fortunate to have used this shop and gotten it back much faster than other in a similar position. Car looks and drives...

    Got T-Boned

I bet airbags = totaled. Sorry this happened but glad you weren’t hurt.

    2022 Model 3 LR - Hit a deer

Update, in case it helps others in this situation. This week marked six weeks since the MYP has been in the shop. They have been awaiting the final two parts that will allow it to be put back together. Although in service mode, I was able to see that the car was brought into the shop Friday...

Is now the worst time to accept delivery of a Model Y?

Agree. The average new car price is 50k and you do not get half of what a Tesla offers its owners. But with those cars you do get to buy gas and pay costly ICE maintenance. I have spent tens of thousands over the years (everyone has) just to keep my cars on the road, until now. EVs, even...

    April 2022 Order Delivery Dates

It certainly was. I could not find a flaw with the car. Very happy. It motivated my wife to trade her Polestar 2 for a MYP as well.

    2022 Model 3 LR - Hit a deer

A week and a half in with the Y and I have an estimate from State Farm (10k), shop says they will start work Monday. Not having it is the worst. I have two EVs but I’ve never enjoyed another car as much as I have this one. Hoping for a short repair time.

    April 2022 Order Delivery Dates

New to the thread, thought I would add mine to the discussion as it surprised me when it happened. In Virginia, I ordered a LR 31 May and was looking at Dec - Jan. Switched it to MYP the last week of August, since I was half way there given the wheels I had configured. The VIN assignment...

    2022 Model 3 LR - Hit a deer

How did it turn out? Any issues getting parts for the repair? I was finishing an awesome day on the road in my Y-performance and hit a deer just forty miles from home. This is killing me.
