yes the car has to be awake to allow that to happen,,,on your iphone the Tesla app will indicate it is awake when it says it is parked… the watch for Tesla app will indicate when it is awake when it says it is online

To put widget on iphone lightly touch the top left hand corner on phone until the +sign comes up touch the+sign then scroll up until uc the tesla app touch that u will be given 2 choices how u would like to view the widget choose add widget hey presto all done

Im back to square one its not working again it was temporary fix…it appears that tesla has not fixed the problem entirely its a work in progress ill wait until they bring out a software fix to fix the problem 3rd world problems

I dont know if tesla has fixed the issue with the car not waking up but i went into my account thru the tesla app changed my password signed out and resigned in with my new password this seems to have fixed the problem ican now use my app see the location of the car etc.

Having the same problem here in New Zealnd car would not wake up using the phone via the tesla app had to to go in close proximity to the vehicle so the bluetooth on the phone could unlock@wake up the vehicle
