Any update on the luxury tax from the CRA?

Good question, I see there are 5 seater options for some of the mats but not all. I would reach out to support just to confirm but if I were to guess 7 seater should work for the 5 seater as well. I think the only difference is in the 7 seater the middle row is motorized to go forward and backwards.

Apologies on the delay. Here are the mats I purchased. Let me know if you would like any other photos. I also purchased mats for the frunk and lower trunk. Overall really happy with them so far especially with the snow and how it keeps everything within the mat because of the raised lip around it.

I just purchased and installed the Tesmanian mats. In my opinion these matched better with the OEM mats and the minimialistic look of the interior. No complaints so far, I can take some pics if anyone is interested.

Rather than going through lawyers and etc. Ideally the ruling comes out, we have a list of all the people that took delivery up until that point and charged. Tesla reaches out to CRA and goes through the refund process. If they do not want to do that then I would think about small claim courts.

Nice, just got the same message this morning as well. I wasn't planning to trade in my vehicle but wondering what Tesla would offer. Think its worth the time or sell private?

According to the person I was talking to yesterday. They provide the code once you have scheduled the delivery date and time. You have to place the order online then and ship it. Strange they do not just have it with your delivery but it is what it is.

I was thinking the same. My delivery will be coming up in December some time. If we don't have this figured out by then, we may have to send a letter to the CRA for a ruling and try to pursue that for a refund.

When I last spoke to the rep at Tesla that was helping me to escalate this because he even said he called the Luxury Tax number and they also said we should not be charged. He said there is no advantage of Tesla charging this if they do not have too because he said people are cancelling orders...

The issue we are having from the things I have gathered is Tesla does not know what constitutes as "written agreement". The only people that can define that is the CRA. For example, does it have to have Make, Model, Price, Est. Delivery or can it just be written on a napkin saying I will...

I agree, the more pressure the better the outcome should be. I sent mine about 2 weeks ago. Also, we should probably figure out if it doesn't change for our delivery but does afterwards how a refund can be issued.

Nice. Assuming Tesla will still take some time changing their mind if CRA does come back before. Cross your fingers haha

Delivery date has been updated to Dec 8 - Jan 12. Hopefully the CRA gets this figured out asap.

Someone from Tesla called me yesterday introduced them self as the rep that would be taking care of me during the delivery. I asked about the luxury tax and he said it still applies as nothing has changed.

Anyone in Canada that has recently taken delivery of a Tesla that would like to share what interest rate and term they were offered by Tesla? Also, if anyone knows of any better solutions than doing financing through Tesla?

Hopefully you get that letter before the delivery date and you get some good news along with everyone else.

I just realized mine updated as well. It was January to March before. Now it is Dec 21 - Feb 1. Nov '21 LR order as well.

I completely agree. I think Tesla is just scared the CRA might turn around and say that does not constitute as a written agreement.

I asked for an email but nothing. Looks like we would have to go through the ruling or interpretation route to get something official from the CRA.

Glad I found this website. Been going back and forth with Tesla and CRA the last few weeks. Tesla has not budged and is still charging the Luxury Tax on pre-orders before 2022. The CRA has said to me twice I should not be charged. Tesla rep said they even called the CRA and said the same thing...
