    My Tesla Experience So Far

So it finally happened. I crashed the Tesla and caused major damage. Let it be said that I was not driving crazily. While it was indeed my fault, I was not pulling any "slick" or "fancy" maneuvers. It was nothing more and nothing less than a case of being exhausted and over worked. I checked...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

The saga continues. It has been 4-5 months since "The Curbening" - about 7,000 miles. During that time I have been much more careful with the vehicle and have not crashed it into anything or done anything to it to cause it problems. Yet stuff is still breaking. The first problem to present...

You may not necessarily want AP2. There's always a give and take. Where AP2 gained additional functionality with it's capability for FSD, from what I have heard from people who have owned both, the AP1 cars are superior in terms of their ability to match speed with the vehicle ahead while also...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

According to an article I was just reading, apparently it was March of 2017. https://www.findmyelectric.com/blog/tesla-free-unlimited-supercharging-how-to-check-if-you-have-it/ It's so hard to keep track of what features these vehicles have. At least for me, figuring out exactly how decked out...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

My impression is that FSD is a dicey area when it comes to transferring. I would say it might happen but it's far from a guarantee. Best to expect to pay that extra FSD tax and be pleasantly surprised if it's enabled by default. I checked the below article for information...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

A 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid (The Jescape - Jalopy Escape). Drove that thing into the ground and was horrible with oil changes et al. Had 168k on it by the time I got the Tesla, drives like it has 1mil on it. When I bought the Tesla, the Jescape still started. It's been sitting in my driveway for...

I think the only way is to ask the owner or dealer honestly. I know it can be checked in the app but that doesn't help you if the vehicle is not in your possession. It is not usually shown in car listings online.

    My Tesla Experience So Far

I do watch a lot of Wham Bam TeslaCam and Idiots in Cars. If my vehicle had the right hardware I could have sent in footage that may have landed me on those channels several times. But watching accidents and wrecks does make me more conscious of all the things that can go wrong and what I need...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

Yeah there's an essay I could write about all the stuff that's gone wrong with this car, but a novel about what I love about it. But I didn't want to make a preaching to the choir post 🤣

Free unlimited supercharging. If you want my opinion, I would be looking for a "unicorn" Model S. They were only manufactured during 2017 after the Autopilot hardware refresh but before they yanked free unlimited supercharging that transfers between owners. They have the potential to have the...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

Not to get too into the weeds, but the dents and the gouge, along with the parking brake, charge port, and tail light are not my fault (last three would pretty much be classed as normal wear and tear I suppose). A dude actually punched my car and put two dents on the body crease. The gouge came...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

What were your issues with your 3? It seems like there's issues with my S every other day. I'm guessing the parking brake stopped working due to the harsh winters here in rural WI, natch for the charging port door. I'm just really hoping the battery and drive units at least hold up until I have...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

I'm 28. Would you believe I insure this thing for full coverage at $98 a month? Me neither. This vehicle has been a major learning experience and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Make fun of my mistakes even, I like to believe I'm humble and self aware enough to recognize my flaws and...

    My Tesla Experience So Far

Apologies if this goes really long (Stephen King once said something about "diarrhea of the word processor" or something like that). Let's get right to it. I have made many mistakes in the course of owning this vehicle and I will admit full responsibility for matters as we go. While I generally...
