Not specific to Tesla but noticed these Rivian fast chargers about a block to the west of the Superchargers here in Hays today. 3 check in’s so far on PlugShare and one a BMW Mini. I may need to make my Model Y CCS compatible finally so I can give these a go?
Found these today in Hays, KS. I hadn’t seen any pictures of Rivian fast chargers yet. There were 3 check in’s on PlugShare so far. One was a BMW Mini. Think I’m going to finally make our Y CCS compatible so I can give these a try. 👍
Nice reminder! Perry, OK Supercharger has 6 pull in forward stalls with lots of parking lot available behind. When I checked this afternoon it wasn’t listed as Trailer Friendly. I asked PlugShare to update the site listing via the Report button. When I checked back a few minutes later it...
Hey Randy,
Yup, that's the thread. Thanks for the assist there.
Yeah, the trailer sleeping area is about the same size as if you set up the car for sleeping. The trailer also has a small fridge and kitchen on the back. We appreciate the extra overall room this setup gives us while staying...
Hey gt, not to go wandering too far ot I’ll just post a couple of screen shots. Let's take it to the Towing travel trailer with Model Y thread if you'd like to discuss it further. 👍
Apologies that last one, Banff to home, is a little fuzzy posted that small. It was 1805 miles at an...
Hey Earl. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I actually just tried that with one of the locations that you can pull around to the back side of the pedestals and not have to drop the trailer. I was hoping you or someone had happened upon a way for users to make that update ourselves. Like the...
Canmore, Alberta. This would be the 1702 Bow Valley Trail location. You can pull up to the end of the row of stalls. There is a building to the left, out of the picture, but there’s plenty of room for others to get around.
Just found this thread. Nice! Here’s a couple I don’t think I saw in the thread.
First off Limon, Colorado. You can pull around the back of the 250 kW stalls and there are two pedestals that the cable can reach the car.
So, there are three “trailer friendly” filters on PlugShare, Pull In, Pull Through and Trailer Friendly. I’m not finding a way to edit locations to add these features. Maybe I’m just not seeing it? Any ideas? Thx!
Instead of expanding at Bethany I’m thinking Cameron and Osceola would be better options. Not only would that increase capacity between KC and Des Moines but also intersect with US Hwys 34 & 36 helping with east/west travel.
And now for your Sunday afternoon update. As we can see again dirt work has begun along with some concrete. No items on site labeled “Tesla” yet.
I stepped into the Sonic. There are restrooms available inside. Posted picture of hours.
Also the truck stop to the east is a very short walk...
Brother-in-law grabbed a quick pic this morning. By the time I asked him if there was any equipment on site specifically labeled “Tesla” he was already down the road.
From the little we can see here it looks like concrete forms, for prefab units, on the far east street side of the Sonic lot.
Our daughter and friend stopped through a few minutes ago. We’ve got a fence up, a container along with a porta potty. All just east of the Sonic and its dog park.
Stopped by again last evening. No change.
This one is going to be handy. There was a line at the Hays Supercharger last night. Instead of waiting I pushed on to my destination as I had enough charge for that. But now I’m a bit limited here and dependent on a 120V outlet over the weekend to...
100% agree. As an example I’m familiar with one facility here locally, 78% of their annual electric bill was for demand charges until a demand controller was installed. Just trying to include some real numbers even if they were anecdotal and local. Speaking of local our industrial rate is...
Average retail electricity price for industrial consumers in the United States 1970 to 2021.
According to Statista it was 7.26 per kWh in 2021
According to my Tesla app I’ve paid, on average, 35 cents per kWh here in the midwest over the last year.
We stopped by again today. Still bagged. Also you can see where the conductors haven’t been run down the new power pole into the conduits yet to the transformer.
There has been some digging going on since my last visit. Looks like Sonic is installing a sprinkler system around the parking...
Just joined the "competition" and wanted to introduce myself. We've been electric enthusiasts for quite awhile. Put solar on the house in 2012 and purchased a Volt in 2013. (the Tesla stretch for a Model S was a bit too much for us at the time). More recently we got our Model Y in September...
We came down Sunday afternoon for the Monday attempt. Three Rivers had a line, we pulled into the only open spot in Alice, we didn't go by Kingsville as we expected it to have a line and there was a short line in Harlingen.
Heading back north on Thursday and found a line of about 6 at...
Checking back in on our return trip from Starbase. 🚀
Lots of great progress. We have landscaping, trees, trash cans. Looks like the remainder of the equipment, minus the transformer, is now on site. And yes, 12 pedestals, 6 back to back. 👍🙂
There is a significant expansion happening here in Ardmore. The new stalls will be directly west of the present ones. Looks like two rows, six pedestals to the row for a total of 12. These will be back to back.
In the pics you can see the trench in the parking area that ends at the north...
Friday afternoon update. Fencing is down. Pad for the transformer has been poured. Conduit has been trenched in to the power pole to the south of the station. Not to the east pole, at the rear of the property, as I was speculating.
My wife grabbed a pic on her way through today. Looks like it's really close. Unfortunately, I didn't explain to take a picture of the transformer and/or meter. She'll be back through later in the week and check for us again.
Checked out this location on Friday. There are a few fairly fresh utility flags in the lawn, south side of the Sonic. Don’t know if this is in connection with the installation. We also scouted around other buildings at the Russell exit. Didn’t notice anything of interest.
Went by the Sonic last evening. No action yet that we could tell. As an aside, there was a pretty good south wind last evening. The aroma from the feedlot is going to be fairly overpowering at times Here. Thank goodness for bio defense mode.
I had forgotten Fidelity can/will automatically close underwater spreads for you one hour before market close on Fridays. I had -160P/+120P spreads for today. Had the ticket up to roll but hadn't hit the submit as I got distracted. Usually I roll these on Thursday but was hoping for a turn...
Great question. It takes us about two minutes to unhook and the same to hook back up. At some Superchargers there are pull in stalls available and we use those. There are also times we can get to the stalls by either pulling up along the end or around on the back side of the row.
Well, hope you went ahead and picked up your T@G, we really enjoy ours. Here’s a pic of our setup. Took it out for a month this last summer. Had a great time. Another pic to give you an idea of our Wh/mi, mostly interstate driving that segment.
Here’s a pic of our setup. We did a long trip this last summer with it. Olympia National Park, Jasper, Banff. I’ve also included pics showing average Wh/mi giving you an idea how we did.
