That sucks, I'm looking forward to the day when folks buying new don't hear it anymore. Your report just reinforces that they still haven't fixed the issue in production yet which is disappointing. Does conditioning for supercharging, or supercharging itself temporarily get rid of the noise for you?

Your example sounds like a whirring noise, is constant and scales with speed? The "cricket" noise described here is intermittent and awful. I don't think you have the issue described elsewhere in this thread.

This is interesting Tesla mentioned "screeching". My 2023 Y has definitely progressed from subtle chirp to a screech over the past 15,000 miles. For me the screeching noise remains right at 10kHz, but is much more consistent (less intermittent) than it was before. The fact that the noise is not...

PNW wet side checking in here, park outside... On my 23 Y I haven't noticed any stink. The car seems to run the fans for about 15 mins every time I park and get out which I presume is it drying out the system?

Looking forward to hearing if the drive unit oil refill does anything, this would be such a straightforward fix- please follow up here and let us know!

Air temps back down to 55F here on west coast USA and this annoying cricket chirping noise is back with a vengeance after a relatively quiet summer enjoying warmer temps. My car's symptoms are exactly as described by others here. Took it into a service center last winter for this issue but...

Don't think it's that easy on the newer Y or 3- my 2023 Y has the USB ports in a different location and no apparent way to get in behind the phone charger pads.

I also wish there was a setting to turn off the Qi phone charger pads. Great spot for phones to go but I don't want my phone to always be at 100% or cook on high heat.

Dang, that sucks. I guess that's the difference between 35F with wet roads and 17F with heavy snow/slush? Overall I made it with 27% headroom (left Chehalis at 90%, got back with 17%).

My 2023 Model Y Long Range (Freemont build) has this issue... I opened up the center console to access the HVAC area and check the soundproofing foam- it was soaked like the videos in this thread show. Now trying to dry it out, then I guess back to the service center again.

I had Audacity open for another post so I stuck your recording in to make a spectrograph. Your 10 kHz band is STRONG! Your front drive unit seize up yet or still going strong?

Interesting...Thanks for posting the videos. I think your parked noise may be a different source because it seems to be centered around 7 kHz and is rather broad from 5 - 8 kHz. It seems unlikely that the same noise would be filtered/changed enough to end up in the cabin at 10 kHz while driving...

Can you post the video of it doing it while parked? I'd like to create a spectrogram from the video and see if it looks similar to what others (myself included) are experiencing, thanks!

This 100%. When I drive my Model Y this noise is the only thing I can think about.

I was at 80% but was already routed through the Centralia WA supercharger on the Nav screen so I figured it would tell me to charge to whatever it needed at the Centralia supercharger to make it back from White Pass. I'll try sitting on the centralia supercharger to 90 or 95% sometime and see if...

Thanks, I've only tried to use the on-board Nav screen but when it said it couldn't do it I chickened out...

My Model Y Long Range doesn't think it can make the Centralia WA Supercharger to White Pass ski area and back to the Centralia Supercharger. Instead it tries to take me over to Yakima, and loop back over I-90... Does anyone have experience with an out-and-back from the Centralia WA supercharger...
