    Calibrating autopilot ,radar,and cameras

Hi Robby, I'm following these directions as you've published on the Unofficial Service Manual and for the life of me, I can't get it! My radar got moved (not my doing) and when it got put back, to top right "arm" (the one without a nut) was broken off. I went ahead and tried to calibrate it...

    X-Care Experiences

Apologies for posting the additional pages here instead of sending it to your email. I feel like transparency is always the best for all involved. There's lots of customers like me with questions about both warranties as we weigh our options. I did have to do a bit of back and forth to get my...

    X-Care Experiences

Hey Brent, My car is about 146k miles on it - I went to the XCare page and it would not give me a quote. Is this because y'all don't offer coverage for it? Will the new HV + DU be offered as additional coverage only or can it be purchased stand-alone? As merely a customer, I'd love to have the...

    X-Care Experiences

Oh, and when I asked about reman/new battery, the answer was based on the cost of the new battery vs reman. "Sometimes the warranty will request remanned if the shop is charging an unusually high price." I find that answer somewhat vague, as the price that Teslas charges for new is the...

    X-Care Experiences

Yea, any testimonial followed by a referral code is iffy to me. I'm about to buy a warranty from Evolve, although I can't find much about them here on the forums. These are the key differences between Evolve and Xcare: Evolve covers: -HV and DU -no 'official' waiting period of 30 days -zero...

Bought used car with AP 1.0 computer but Can't Upgrade/Add-Auto-Pilot

YESSSS....too bad they already have my messages to the contrary, although the way their service dept is run, no one is going to look at previous messages. They don't even seem to look at messages IN the same thread that deals with your current issue.

Model S refresh - Reduced Front Radar Visibility

I have a 2015 with a refresh bumper and the sensor was moved. It’s giving me the “ auto pilot is temporarily unavailable” error. Which I believe is because the radar needs to be re-calibrated in order to recalibrate it. I have to mount it in approximately the same position.

Model S refresh - Reduced Front Radar Visibility

Did you ever find out where the sensor is located? Mine is slightly to the right (when looking at the car) and I’m wondering if that’s giving me issues.

    2015 Model S 70 Battery Replacement Options

These battery prices have been going down. Last few postings people have been seeing around 15k but I believe that's a "remanufactured" pack and many have been getting lucky since no remanufactured packs exist and they've gotten a new battery instead with Tesla honoring the original pricing.

    Nosecone alternative?

I didn't :( Sadly I sent this company an email and they never responded back to me which I didn't see as a good sign towards excellent customer service. It made me nervous especially since the company is based in Europe. I ended up getting a refresh bumper.

Anyone use this Model S Refresh Bumper to update their 2012-2016?

No, it's an aftermarket front bumper that requires a new grill (also available through them for about $90 plus shipping from what I recall). It's supposedly somewhat plug and play. Now the issue seems to be that I can't find a body shop in the Tampa area willing to do any kind of aftermarket...

FS: 2015 Model S 70 FUSC, Free Connectivity, MCU2 LTE Upgrade

Updated with additional pics. Partial chrome delete since first posting but is easily removable. Short trip to Orlando where we supercharged for about 45 mins. You can see charge is $0.00 due to FUSC. I mostly work from home so this car doesn’t get too many miles except for trips. Home...

FS: 2015 Model S 70 FUSC, Free Connectivity, MCU2 LTE Upgrade

No. Any warranty replacements do not extend the original car warranty, even if it it occurred on the day of expiration. If you paid for a replacement, then yes, that warranty would apply to the replacement.

    2015 Model S 70 Battery Replacement Options

I have a 2015 70 with 140k miles, original battery but the drive unit was replaced in Oct 21 with one that has ceramic bearings - so I was told by the SA because I didn't own the car at the time.

Bought used car with AP 1.0 computer but Can't Upgrade/Add-Auto-Pilot

Yea, unfortunately for me I found one of those people. They gave me a price and then the service center said that person was wrong and I couldn't do it/my car is not capable even though it VERY CLEARLY says AP 1.0 Hardware on the screen. It seems whenever I've solved this problem, it just comes...

Battery usage increase after 2022.8.10.8 ??

I dunno. It's a new to me car.. service went over all the records with me verbally but I mainly was paying attention to the super important stuff like the battery and drive unit age/replacement. Are you saying the phantom drain could be the 12V needing replacement? I had Tessie for a bit but I...

FS: 2015 Model S 70 FUSC, Free Connectivity, MCU2 LTE Upgrade

Not sure. I didn't own the car at that time but was told by Service when I did the MCU2 upgrade last month. They were very nice and went over the entire service history of the car with me. You have a 70D so you don't have a large rear DU and therefore your DU "potentially" has less issues...

    Pricing affects on Model S?

Really?! What don't you like about your newer S? For me the nosecone isn't my favorite and I do worry about the battery (mine is a 70, not an 85D like yours) and the larger drive unit worries me but it was replaced in Oct 21 with a unit that has ceramic bearings, so crossing my fingers that...

    Pricing affects on Model S?

I have one similar to the one you sold in Oct. Leather, sunroof, FUSC, Free Connectivity, etc so my hope is if I decide to upgrade, the price drop on it will be substantially less than what we're seeing for newer models - either new or used. Ideally used because dealer fees annoy me to no end...

    Pricing affects on Model S?

It seems most of the coverage/sentiment is regarding the Model Y and Model 3 since those prices cuts make those who purchased a few weeks or months ago the most "upside down" if you want to call it that. Used Model Y cuts on listings understandably on Jan 13, at sometimes drastic amounts...

    Free Supercharging Still Worth It?

I recently bought a Model S 70 with FUSC and upgraded the MCU to MCU2 with LTE. It's more comfortable than friends' MY or M3 (2021 and 2019 respectively). Supercharging speeds are quite good (not sure how it compares to the 85) and we intend to use it mainly for road trips where we might not...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

No. They will only give you a firm trade-in number after you've placed an order. Even then, the price may fluctuate depending on when you take delivery

Opinion - 2015 Model S 70 RWD with High Miles - Infotainment Upgrade?

Intel is MCU2. A simple replacement of the screens would not say "infotainment upgrade" it would just list the screens (or similar) however that cost is somewhere around 1k if I remember correctly. For the extra $700 or so you get the faster MCU, better screens (the 'new' MCU1 replacement...

    Nosecone alternative?

Yea, to each their own. For me, it's an upgrade from the bubble. At least it looks akin to a mesh grille for an ICE car and I know it's silly to have for a car with no engine up front :)

    Nosecone alternative?

Hubby wants to get the car ceramic coated. I wonder if they would do the nosecone for an extra fee... he says they repair the paint/chips in the car with paint so they would have it anyway.
