What happened? Did the Gen1 DC/DC converter work? I took my 2013 Model S to Tesla on Dec 1 and they first said it would be $1,400 for the repair of Gen1 DC/DC converter. Now they say, 1/ they cant find a gen1 dc/dc converter 2/ Even if they did, it would not work 3/ I have to upgrade to a...- jchickey

2013 Model S DC/DC converter bad - Tesla says $7k to fix
On Dec 1, 2022 I had my 2013 Tesla Model S 85kw towed to Tesla Service. They said Gen 1 DC/DC converter bad and they would replace in 2 weeks for $1,400. In late December they said, they cant find a Gen 1 converter and now I have to upgrade to a newer gen DC/DC converter and it will cost $7000...- jchickey
