Lease Return- windshield replacement- Can file through insurance or must replace at a Tesla dealership Out of Pocket?

I had Tesla replace mine. Got a rock chip that almost instantly spread to a large crack on my previous 2021 M3LR within a few months of purchasing it, so I didn’t want to replace the glass with aftermarket and risk having any sort of camera misalignment or issues. I got an estimate from Tesla...

thinking of trading in for a model 3. Insurance questions

Those insurance numbers are insane. Do you have a lot of tickets or accidents? I think my 2022 M3LR is about $650/6mo with State Farm. Collision is $1000 but comp is $0. I’ve never been in an accident that I was at fault for in 20 years of driving, so I’ll take the significant monthly savings...

Ordered Model 3 LR today, delivery is in 2 days. Should we be concerned?

Tesla has a massive number of cars just sitting waiting to be purchased right now. There are probably at least 100 new/unsold Teslas sitting in a shopping center parking lot near my local delivery center right now. And I don’t live anywhere near either of the US Tesla factories

    Strangeness...headlight purple...

“White” LEDs are basically “blue” LEDs with a yellow phosphor over them. Sounds like the yellow phosphor got damaged somehow

Efficiency: 2018 LR RWD vs 2022 LR AWD

I had a 2019? M3MR (RWD) as a service loaner during the winter and I was blown away how much less efficient it was than our 2022 M3LR. It was averaging >350wh/mi on my partner’s 90mi/70mph commute, whereas our 22 M3LR would get 310-330wh/mi in the same conditions. Only thing I could figure is...

What Percent is Your Tesla Charged to While at Home?

I normally charge to 80% at home. My spouse normally drives the car for their 90 mile daily commute and I like to make sure the car has 2 days of commuting available in case something happens with the charger/the vehicle doesn’t charge overnight. Easier to deal with that problem after they’ve...

I’ve tried two different outlets and it keeps popping the circuit breaker

I meant to say “if anything else is powered from that CIRCUIT” not outlet. Usually one circuit breaker will feed several outlets.

I’ve tried two different outlets and it keeps popping the circuit breaker

Whatever outlet/breaker you use to charge your vehicle, the EVSE/charger must be the ONLY thing running on that outlet/breaker. If anything else is powered from that outlet, drawing 12A continuously from it will overload it. This is, of course, assuming it is a 15A circuit. The rating for the...

    Work From Home Charging

In my experience, 240V charging is actually quite a bit more efficient. My calculations have shown about 87% charging efficiency on 120V vs 95-96% charging efficiency on 240V/48A. Now, that efficiency is power from the vehicle charge inlet vs what actually goes into the battery, so there may...

    Most efficient tire?

I’ve had 2 different sets of Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires (OEM tire on Chevy Bolt) and they are among the worst tires I’ve ever owned. The only good things I can say about them is that they are efficient and quiet, but they give up way, way, WAY too much grip. Even light acceleration (again...
