Fremont factory closes Mon 9/18/23 - Any speculation on what happens?

how's that a surprise :-) Transportation Electrification DC summit a few years back also had the BigThree invited but not Elon. We all know Big Three have no idea how to make EV's, Clearly - Joe doesn't

Tesla driver profile not changing automatically

Every time my wife drives my Y ( her daily is M3P) my seat position is messed up. I checked the profile switching yesterday, and that she's not changing seat position manually when she gets in. The seats adjusts to her profile correctly, but the when I get in, its not back to what I had saved...

Review of my first EV after 10 days and the first roadtrip (2023 Model Y Performance)

I have lately done a lot of cancellations, but assume its just my OCD. What i remember is - when you leave the SC, the numbers are off. After 10 or so miles of driving they stabilize and are more in line

Review of my first EV after 10 days and the first roadtrip (2023 Model Y Performance)

I find the navigation's SOC estimates very accurate. Customizable arrival SOC would be a huge improvement, and i am certain near future OTA updates will provide that

Review of my first EV after 10 days and the first roadtrip (2023 Model Y Performance)

Hey!. - i have a patent on this method ! Dont you steal it ! Much like you - I don't experience any nags whatsoever using the above

Review of my first EV after 10 days and the first roadtrip (2023 Model Y Performance)

Fantastic review. I wish i had the talent ( read patience) to do a writeup like this. I did do sufficient amount of road tripping over the last 8 months in the YP and 3P. I think AP is absolutely fantastic tho. I do admit that I have zero experience using other brand's current driving aid...

    Apps for mileage comparison

It uses a lot of energy for the first few miles. Long continuous drives will result in much better wh/mile.

    Enhanced Autopilot

Agree, have EAP and standard AP on two different cars and cant justify spending 6K to upgrade to EAP. It would be nice to have, but for me the stalk initiated lane change just isn't the 6K upgrade. Having said that - it feels like a ton of things changed since my first road trip in March (...

2023 model y performance factory ppf

I had my 2023 MYP fully wrapped ( stealth satin ) right after purchase. I'd assume the people who did it for me would let me know that there's already a PPF on it ?

    Enhanced Autopilot

looks like some angry tesla owners here :-) In the end - as some stated - you can't rely fully on the AP, EAP or FSD. You won't be able to rely on those for a long time. Having said that - even standard AP is a game changer. It does 90% of the work one normally does while driving.

LOL - im sorry - typical me, not checking which room Im in :-)

    Our very unpleasant experience

Both were picked up from Schaumburg, IL location ( western suburbs of Chicago) The MYP service was done at Westmont location, where all the supersport dealerships are ( Porsche, Ferrrari, Lambo, etc) Maybe they're trying to fit the shoes :-)

    Enhanced Autopilot

I have two teslas, one with EAP and one with standard AP. If i was doing this again, i would not spend the money on the EAP, or FSd for that matter

    Our very unpleasant experience

I picked the M3P ( from stock) on December 22nd 2022 . Ironically, the charge port wouldn't accept the plug so I went back to the SC on Christmas Eve, (Saturday) without making an appointment. SC personnel was nice, and fixed the port within 2 or so hours. The MYP was ordered. waited about 6...

    Our very unpleasant experience

I bough two teslas in the last 8 months and both times things were flawless. This isn't to argue with OP, but rather to balance opinions since as we all know - most usage of forums like this is to voice complaints. Also, two of my friends own Porsches, and since day one, they are frequent...

    Windshield wiper automatically turn on.

^^^ that ^^^, and make sure your windhield is clean. The good thing is that the recent updates vastly improved or almost eliminated the "dry wipes" i was notoriously experiencing in the past

2023 M3P OEM tire replacement (to avoid damage from potholes)

I am still on the 20's but wearing FALKEN Azenis FK460's now. I feel they're far superior and see no major difference in range or noise level. The original Pirellis are absolute joke. Developed side wall bubbles within first month, and eventually one of them burst around 14K miles I did not...

Expired Full WedsSport wheel/tire set up to bolt on model 3 [Deleted]

I believe M3P has larger brake disks and definitely different ( bigger) performance calipers in the rear than MYP

EAP transfer between (2) currently owned Teslas

Both were new, M3P was purchased from stock with EAP bundled. I didn't order the EAP on the MYP because didn't really see 6k benefit based on my experience. Just thought that its getting wasted on the M3P since we roadtrip the Y

EAP transfer between (2) currently owned Teslas

K, thanks A bit of a waste - wife ( M3P ) is scared of the EAP, I use AP all the time, and would be nice to actually have the EAP on my MYP instead

EAP transfer between (2) currently owned Teslas

Hi, I own both 2023 M3P and 2023 MYP. The M3P has EAP, the MYP only basic AP. Is it possible to transfer the EAP to the Model Y?

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

this remains me of my former commuting in a Volt. I was paranoid to ONLY drive on electrons, and so was making a game out it to maximize my 30 mile range every possible way Talk about range anxiety :D

just, someone please please - put my mind at ease that all the bad media about EV's is actually noise? We are not moving 500,000 lbs of earth using slave or child labor to get material for ONE EV battery, are we?

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

we did There was nothing conveniently close. I was hoping the house we stayed in had a 110V outlet outside for me to trickle charge. It did, but it didn't work. Luckily, i planned and stopped in Rockford to supercharge to 80% to get me to Galena and back with some buffer. ( 320 miles round...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

To sceptics defense - i foresee the time when I'll have to get somewhere on emergency basis, and will be stuck with lack of charge, and a need to spend the time i don't have at supercharger. Also - my recent trip to a rural Illinois location with a bunch of friends was a bit stressful. I...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

Exactly, My wife and i are notoriously looking for places to go on weekends because driving the Y is so freaken relaxing and fun. The "more frequent" stops positively add to the experience. On longer trips one simply arrives far more relaxed. We're not 20 anymore, and don't need to compete for...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

All of them did, and all are shocked and super impressed, some even with the simplicity of the interior. Then, comes that "... but - i can make the trip to my summer house in 3 hours without stopping to recharge.." Can't really argue with that I agree on the compact gas sipper comparison...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

Chevy Volt was a brilliant idea. Drop the engine, get the range up to 100 miles ( in winter driving) and price it at sub 20k and people will buy it.

question related to constant media bashing

obviously never tested it, but have experience several AP disengagements ( if i fail to response to nags ) forcing me to actually stop to be able to reengage. Im curious what triggers the process of hazards on and slowing down Is it the emergency line keep that ( if not reacted to) starts the...

Youtuber Ratarossa buys a Tesla Model S for £7000

I had my drone packed in the frunk on my way to Florida back in May, At one of the supercharging stops, when i noticed how hot the frunk got, i moved it to the inside thinking those drone batteries are bound to lit up at some point

Youtuber Ratarossa buys a Tesla Model S for £7000

So this wasn't EV related fire. BTW - both of my E46 BMW's lost to the fire were caused by a known HVAC issue that BMW always denied - similarly to this Zafira. What's wrong with Germans? :-)

Youtuber Ratarossa buys a Tesla Model S for £7000

I agree with that. What makes me wonder tho, it appears those that catch fire are units that have been left parked for a time. Seems like battery management system that has no energy to manage because the battery is depleted. ? I don't necessarily agree with a statement that "older" ice cars...

Youtuber Ratarossa buys a Tesla Model S for £7000

most of my friends have been surprised ( if not shocked ) with my super positive experience - after of course they stopped laughing at me for buying a tesla ( im a gear head at heart) Those who bring out the fires, quickly get muffled but the 1500 to 25 ICE to EV fire ratio statistic.

First Road Trip In 2023 Tesla Model Y

My 2017 Chevy SS ( albeit Australia made - Holden) had several blemishes that an amateur eye did not catch. Is a Tesla Model Y right for me?

Typical ICE car will easily get 300 miles and have sufficient buffer left, plus abundance of gas stations everywhere. Model Y's practical range is well below 200 miles, so to avoid range anxiety, one has to stop twice, three times a week to "top it off" Of course it all depends on the amount of...

Is a Tesla Model Y right for me?

I too will chime in and confirm what others stated. An EV for daily use is "only" as good as your ability to charge overnight or at work. Sure - The supercharger network is excellent, but it is not what makes EVs great Imagine, if you had to stop at a shopping mall to charge your phone because...
