I'm also on 2024.8.7 and waiting for the FSD trial. 2023 MYLR (Feb 23 build).

Road Trip Going Through Major Cities - Trunk or Frunk for Security?

I go with the under trunk to the extent possible. The frunk is inconvenient since it's manual and I too out the rear cargo cover. So, for me, the only way to conceal stuff is the under trunk.

    2023 Model y running changes

You can check the version in the car itself. My current software version is 2024.8.4 - you can check notateslaapp.com for details regarding that release's features. Keep in mind updates are made available automatically and the owner decides when to install them. I got my 2023 MYLR in January...

    Goodyear Eagle 1 tire damage

I had the same problem. A coal roller forced me off the road and into a curb. I had a choice of letting him hit me or me hitting the curb. Severe curb rash and the tire sidewall was gouged like yours. I took the car to two different tire shops locally and both told me that sidewall damage like...

Does anyone know what these are used for?

Those are the bolts that will hold your license plate to the frame. The plastic bits are the screw head covers.

    Wireless charging question

I have a Galaxy S22 with camera bumps on the back, too. I just make sure the phone is resting at the bottom of the wireless charging pad and it works fine. If you have something at the bottom of the charging pad such as chapstick, the phone will be out of position. Kind of unrelated, but I also...

    Model Y trunk not working!!

I have never had this happened to me. However, you may want to try rebooting the car (press and hold both rolling wheels on the steering wheel for a few seconds and the car will reboot). That often resolves other issues and it may work for this too.

VCFRONT_a447 in a 23 MYLR need to go on a quick trip 200+ miles, okay to drive?

This is a great example of why I like this site. I've had my MYLR for a year and am still learning new things quite often from posts here. @tireguy, thanks for taking the time to explain this and educating us.

    New Owner!

Congratulations on your new MY. This site is a great resource for information about all Teslas. Use the search function often. It's likely someone else had the same questions that you will have over the next few months. I've had my MYLR for a year and am still learning new tips and tricks...

Tesla recalls 200,000 vehicles over backup camera glitch

I agree that the term Recall is antiquated, but it's all of the mainstream media, not just Fox News, who loves to trumpet "Recall" for these software updates. They celebrate every chance they get to hate on Musk.

Tesla recalls 200,000 vehicles over backup camera glitch

I work in the software inmdustry and see software problems a lot. Patches like this one are very common. The problem was likely introduced in an earlier update. Although the updates are most certainly thoroughly tested, some bugs get through.

Tesla recalls 200,000 vehicles over backup camera glitch

There will be an update from them soon. It will be fixed then.

How do i turn off scheduled everything?

On the phone App, you can go to Schedule then select Departure and turn off both options - Precondition and Off-Peak Charge. Then swtich to Charge and turn off Schedule Charging.

How often do you charge to 100%

I got my MYLR in Feb 2033. I charge to 80% at typically but have charged to100% probably 10 times. Our SC network is sparse in SW Colorado. For road trips I'll charge to 100% at home and use SCs in Albuquerque or Colorado Springs for our ttip back home. I've never considered changing to 100% to...

    Cold Weather Chicago?

I'm in southwest Colorado at 6500 feet elevation. We get chilly here with a lot of snow. I'm in my second Winter my Model Y Long Range. I charge at home on 240v and, while the car isn't as efficient as it is in the Summer, we just plan accordingly and don't let it stop us from taking road...

Purchased Premium Connectivity now no music

I've had the same problem before. When something like that quits working I reboot the car all is good again. That sends to take care of most software problems. The only thing I have to reboot more often is my Windows 11 PC.

Vendor 🥳🥳GIVEAWAY! Teslaunch New Product Drop: Join Our Test Program

I've had my MYLR with 20" Ubertines since February. I've been extremely careful to avoid road rash. Regardless, it happens. These rim protectors would be great and keep the car looking pristine.

Door Lock on leaving erratic operation??

This has happened to me, too. When my MYLR receives a software update, some things start to go wonky. I find that I need to do a soft reset (press both rollers on the steering wheel). That usually resolves the problem. Unfortunately, I don't know of what the next steps may be for you.

    Lug Nut Cover Tool Included?

    I didn't get one in my 23MYLR

Where is the Start / Stop button in my brand new Tesla???

That's funny. We had the opposite problem last week. We rented a car and kept turning on the windshield wipers when trying to put it in reverse. And having to use a remote to lock and unlock the doors was a pain. All better now, though. We're back home with our MYLR.

    Windshield Wipers

Try rebooting (hold down both scroll wheels for a few seconds). That usually clears the issue.

ICE lease has 4 months left. Buy Y now or wait?

I would buy the MYP now and avoid the additional miles overage, maintenance (brakes and tires at a minimum) and fuel costs. The biggest benefit is that you're in an MYP sooner rather than later.

    Software update 2023.32

That update was specifically for HW4. I have HW3 and didn't see that change. Do you have HW3 or HW4?

Tesla Vision stopped working coincidentally right after Costco Rotation/Balance

Try rebooting the car. Press and hold both scroll wheels on the steering wheel. The display will go dark for about 1 or 2 minutes. That's my go-to step when my Model Y LR starts acting strangely.
  25. D

    Regen Braking to low button?

My 2023 MYLR is on version 2023.32.1 and I don't have the option for Regenenerative Braking. It would be in the Pedals and Steering menu if avaialble.

2023 June Model Y horn not working after heavy rain

I also have a 2023 Model Y. No problems with the horn rain or shine. We haven't gotten a lot of rain in southern Colorado lately, though. I hope yours is an isolated incident.

Why doesn't my car adjust the seat when I approach the car

Yep, Easy Entry is the way to go then the settings change when you start the car (press the brake pedal). As a side note, that's just about the only time I have to use that pedal.

Stories of someone's cracked casting. Should we worry about this?

Only MSN knows what is newsworthy to them. They are the "news" outlet that reported on Joe Biden's favorite ice cream. So, I don't put a great deal of faith in their reporting. Regardless, as you said, I also hope Tesla investigates and provides appropriate corrective action as needed. Of...

    Sun visors annoyances

For me, this was a different way to manage the visors. It took me a few times of using it to get comfortable with the difference. I like it much better now than the clips because I don't have to take my eyes off of the road to restore the visor after I no longer need it; just get it close and it...

Is Owning a Tesla Y Manageable in a State Without a Service Center?

My closest Service Center is 200+ miles away and I'm not nervous about the distance at all. I have had my MYLR six months haven't had to visit them yet. I did look at appointments, though, and it would be easy to schedule if needed.

Model Y wipers go off when on base auto pilot after 2023.26.7 update

I've had to reboot the computer in MY LR after some updates. That usually corrects the odd behavior.

Creaking liftgate when closing- anyone having same problem?

It sounds like you have been offered an aggressive and likely permanent fix. The grease and spacer sounds more like a temporary fix. The grades will eventually break down and the squeak will probably return. If i were you I would go with their recommendation. Of course, I'm not you. I'd say...

    Model Y front windshield replacement

We had to replace our windshield and went to Safelite. We had an appointment within days and they did a great job. The new windshield is OEM which is great.

    2023.20.9 update

I've had to reboot a couple of times since the update. Autopilot wouldn't work once then wipers wouldn't work. Reboots restored each but nuisance to say the least.

Is it possible for an EV to ICE a charging station?

Yep - my Model Y in the second photo. I took the photo just after unplugging mine as I was getting ready to leave. I should have taken the photo before unplugging :(. All four chargers work at this hospital. I'm not trying to be a scold - just a message about charging ettiquette.
  38. D

Is it possible for an EV to ICE a charging station?

This is a rhetroical qustion. I saw two PHEVs (a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe and a Toyota something) taking up two EV charging spots this morning. Neithet were plugged in but were taking up the spots. Only four chargers at that location. That's no different from a non-EV occupying a charging spot...

Model Y- Super Dirty Car immediately after car wash

I always dry my MY thoroughly after washing. I use a microfiber cloth to dry all surfaces and inside door frames. Then an air blower to force any remaining water out of crevices widow frames, etc.. After that, the car stays clean with no streaks.

23 MYP Right Rear Blinker Not Working

23 MYP Right Rear Blinker Not Working

I rebooted my MYLR the other day due to some quirky behavior. For me, when I activated AutoPilot my windshield wipers came on. Also, the windshield washer fluid wouldn't spray even though the reservoir was full. I rebooted the car at my next stop and all has been good since. So, try rebooting...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

Have you considered getting a CCS Combo adapter for charging at other DC Fast Chargers? Quite often the CCS rates are much lower than Tesla's SuperCharger rates. It will take you a bit more route planning but the savings may be with effort.

What to do with Rugs after All Weather Mats Installed ???

I put mine back my MY when I wash my all-weather mats. It takes a little while for them to dry completely and I don't want to run errands without some kind of floor protection. I'm really just looking dur ways to use them. I hoped they would have fit a Model 3 but they won't.

Acceleration Boost (AB) or 20" induction wheels for 2023 new Model Y LR

As GtiMart said, it's personal preference. I've got 20" wheels on my MYLR. I really like the look & the ride and performance are both fine, too. Accelerating isn't a problem at all.

Finally drove a Model Y…it was incredible!!

We got our MYLR in February and have not regretted a moment since. We were in the market to get a new car and the timing for the US Federal Tax Credit helped us decide. This is our second EV and it's by far much better than our 2019 Kia Niro EV. In fact, my wife and I draw straws over who gets...

    Using Nissan Leaf charger

I have the ChargePointe J1772 charger I had for my Niro EV. I've been using it with my MYLR since I took delivery in February. It's been fine for me.

    Windshield Stone Chip

I had to replace my windshield last week on my 14-week old MYLR. Safelite did a great job and didn't hesitate because it's a Tesla. My insurance company, Travelers, arranged it for me.

Was looking at an X5 M.

I had an X1M (xDrive 35i) a few years ago. It was a sweet ride but doesn't come close to my MYLR.
