Model Y Review by a Hater

So, it *may* be that there is a difference between the latest 🇺🇸 & 🇨🇳 cars. As above, my experience aligns much more with sleepydoc, despite my MY arriving in Dec ‘22

Model Y Review by a Hater

Are both of your cars 🇺🇸-made? If so, this *may* be the (or, at least part of the) answer. We have both a Jun 2021 M3 LR and a Dec 22 MY LR and I have driven exactly the same roads within minutes of each other in the two cars. Sadly, my experience is exactly the opposite of yours. That’s very...

Model Y Review by a Hater

I spent many hours on the back of Land Cruisers (not Land Rovers) at Christmas time & you definitely would NOT want to do that in a Model Y! Sadly, we didn’t see lions, but if it would mean getting chased, maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing! In terms of the ride on our specific MY (noting that...

Model Y Review by a Hater

Also from China - they’re the only M3 and MY cars available in right-hand drive

Model Y Review by a Hater

Honestly, I don’t know. And I don’t know whether there’s a way to check the spec on any given car

Model Y Review by a Hater

Mine is a 12/22 from China, so maybe that’s the difference. I wouldn’t describe myself as a princess, but maybe I am. What is very noticeable is how much worse the ride quality of the MY is than our 2021 M3 LR. Or our or 2014 Škoda Octavia vRS. Or the 2011 BMW 123d coupe that we had. Or pretty...

Model Y Review by a Hater

Where did your car come from? I’m very surprised that you say it’s “fine”. I’m searching for an expression other that total 🐕💩 to describe mine…

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

Software: - Parking sensors, since the ultrasonic sensors were deleted without my say-so - Windscreen wipers that respond correctly to actual weather conditions - Headlights that do more than write Tesla on my garage door - Autopilot that isn’t terrifying to use (phantom braking horror) -...

Model Y Review by a Hater

Absolutely agree. We have a 2021 M3 LR, which is infinitely better than our 2022 MY LR. That said, the ride quality is SO bad on the MY that I reckon a Fisher Price Cozy Coupe would offer a better ride

How to set arrival SOC on tesla navigation at superchargers

I also *could* use ABRP (and have done in the past), but (AFAIK) it doesn’t use current weather conditions and/or live traffic updates, so the car *should* be the most accurate predictor of arrival SoC based on these factors and recent driving style. Maybe the Tesla software team should spend...

How to set arrival SOC on tesla navigation at superchargers

I also had the thought that this was an opportunity for Tesla to make more money by over-charging at the Supercharger, but can that really be the case? I don’t often use the public charging network, so I’ll defer to your experience with ‘random’ SoC values

How to set arrival SOC on tesla navigation at superchargers

Whereas this is EXACTLY what I want because the Tesla Route Planner yesterday wanted me to charge on a Supercharger to arrive back at home with about 30% buffer. Yes - 30%!.. That would have cost me an additional £10 or so vs charging using my home tariff, AND I would have had to wait an...
