Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

They go 24 hrs a day and NYC says it is 10 over, but I have seen the flash of the camera go off for 5 over (I was following at the same distance). I have been able to go 2.5 mph over without tickets (I used to use the 10% over limit and didn't get tickets). I did have a typo, I meant to say...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

I drove today from Long Island NY to Brooklyn NY with a mix of interstates and city streets (so a mix of v11 and v12.3.4). I disengaged one time during the entire 26-mile trip. I disengaged because it was going 27 mph in Auto Max where there is a 25-mph speed camera (there were no cars around...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

You get used to it. After 10k miles and 1+ year using FSD for 80%-90% of my driving, I have the right touch now. When I first started using it I was just like you, I felt it was an accident waiting to happen. But once you learn the right about of input, it won’t disengage. If the road is...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

In your rural area, do you have AT&T drop areas. If you do, you will lose your connection to Spotify (there might be a buffer that has to run out that might fool one into thinking you are still connected with a short drop zone). The cellular service is with AT&T (at least that's what shows on...

    FSD now $99 a month

I have been using FSD in the NYC area for over a year. I use it for well above 90% of my driving. I include highway driving in the calculation because I let the car change lanes and route between highways (technically EAP features). It has progressively gotten better with each update. 12.3.x...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

I mounted mine on a printed mount attached to the glass on the inside directly below the trim on the lift gate. Unless you are looking for it, you would never see it. I have 2 lifetime accounts, it costs me nothing to have SXM, just the parts for the install. Spotify costs money (since the...

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enabled for one month trial this week

Scroll wheels stop the nag with 2023.44.30.25 which has FSDb v12.3b. Did it this morning on my commute to work. I have a second local profile with all settings the same as my cloud profile that is on AP... I never use it...

    Used model 3s FSD

Well, based on the 12.3 release, and my ability to use in NYC and Long Island NY, I have no doubt it will continue to get better. I'm only 1 year deep into owning 2 Teslas, but make heavy use of FSD on my 26-mile (each way) commute. I am so happy with 12.3, I can't wait for it to replace the...

    Used model 3s FSD

I think the point they are making is, whatever you trade it in for with Tesla during the free FSD transfer periods, it makes that vehicle worth at least the current cost of FSD.

    CCS Adapter Support

I got mine done today on my 2019 TM3 LR. They charged me the additional labor. I asked them to look on the retrofit ordering page and see how it indicated that the installation was included in the retrofit price. They immediately refunded me the additional service charge. The same thing...
  12. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

This is 100% correct. I had my scheduled appointment amended to include the CCS Retrofit by Tesla. I couldn’t add it without losing my appointment, but was able to see it.
  13. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

As other manufacturers switch to NACS, there will be more 3rd party NACS L3+ chargers available. My understanding is, in order to use them, your car will have to be CCS compatible. So, to future proof, I have added the CCS retrofit for my 2019 M3 to my already scheduled service appointment on...

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

I did not have any issues after the install. It was my local service center’s first time doing the retrofit (if that makes a difference).

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

They have been cracking down on a lot of things now. Which makes sense. If they do an upgrade, they are responsible for anything that goes wrong from that upgrade. Legacy manufactures have realized this (Tesla is still young) and tend not to do these customer upgrades to features/options that...

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

I would love to do the matrix lights on both my TMY and TM3. How did you find someone who could code it?
  17. JayPaul

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

I have never had luck with any auto manufacture doing installs outside of what the vehicle came with. I've always had to go to an independent shop. They do repairs, not upgrades/modifications.

You all have about talked me out of a Tesla altogether...

Just FYI. Since traditional automaker's dealers are franchises, they typically only offer loaners to customers that bought vehicles directly from the dealer you purchased it from (or their group, if they own several). I had a 2017 Ram purchased from Security Dodge (in NY); I never was given a...

Tow Hitch - OEM vs Aftermarket pros/cons

I added brakes to my utility trailer. I had my trailer shop swap the axles to one with brakes, and add a breakaway kit. My trailer is a 3k Aluminum 6x12 with wood deck with a reinforced AL ramp. I got a brake controller and picked up the harness from Tesla to wire it in. Telsa recommends...

You all have about talked me out of a Tesla altogether...

I think this is area specific. The 2 SC I typically go to, Plainview NY and now the Westbury NY location, they have been nothing but perfect. They remember me, know me by name, and always take care of me. I have had better CS with Tesla than I have had at Honda, Jeep, Ram, BMW, Audi and...

    CCS Adapter Support

For me, it’s just the ability for the vehicle to “speak CCS” which as North America ends up with the Tesla plug I assume will be required to use non-Tesla L3+ chargers. I want more options, especially if I move away from the coasts. I always intend to have home charging, but on trips it would...
  22. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

It is 100% a non-issue for me now, where I live. But there is the possibility I will be moving in the next year or so. When you leave the two coasts, supercharger access is not the same. As of right now, I've only used Superchargers 3 times. Everything is home L2 or free L2 at my local...
  23. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

I would like to see an official retrofit, since I intend to keep my M3 for years. As long as the battery is under warranty, I would be hesitant to bypass an official retrofit since this is charging related.
  24. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

The reason they are in the conversation is because Tesla include it in their literature... That was what it said all last year when was checking monthly. The date was eventually changed to January 2024, and now has changed again to indicate that it is not compatible with the Cybertruck (and...
  25. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

Those that have had it done, simply lucked out. There wasn't an official CCS retrofit for the Model 3/Y. It's perpetually been in that "It's coming soon" state.
  26. JayPaul

    CCS Adapter Support

They aren't doing the retrofits for 3/Y now. It is enabled on my '21 Y, but isn't on my '19 3. I put in a request this year, and it was cancelled noting that it is not available yet, even though the website said mid January 2024.

    When to Replace 12v?

This is true, but has become less and less true. Even ICE vehicles have tons of computer systems these days. When they go, they can immediately go. The difference with EVs (I only have experience with Teslas) is it seems we can’t just easily jump and keep driving. Tesla should find a way to...

    When to Replace 12v?

I was told the same, did it anyways like you are planning. You have a Y with the repeater cameras with the LED light bleed? I had that on my 2019 TM3, but my 2021 TMY doesn't have that problem. I upgraded the repeaters on the TM3 very soon after getting it, since I drive when it is mostly...

2023 Model Y Long Range Driver' Side Mirror

It is a lot of money for the Euro spec OEM mirror, so I don't want you to be let down if you still have vibrations. I paid $173.58 shipped for a single mirror. I wanted the convex mirror because my seating angle made it very difficult to use the driver's side mirror. The Euro convex mirror...

2023 Model Y Long Range Driver' Side Mirror

I confirmed it this morning. I do not have the driver's side side view mirror vibration at any speed with my OEM Euro Mirror. So, it must have either been a flaw with the US OEM mirror attachment points, or maybe it was loose, and when I installed the new mirror, the new mirror properly seated.

Need help deciding which Tesla to sell

Unfortunately, without having cash to pay the difference in selling price and what you owe, you won't be able to sell either... If you are going to pay the difference, you might as well put them both up for sale, and only accept the one that costs you out of pocket the least. People can pick...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Retrofit completed on my 2021 7-Seater. The original mobile service was scheduled for 12/22/23, but parts weren't in, CS updated to 1/2/24 and then pushed again to today 1/10/24. He put the removed parts in my truck (since he said I own them).

    SiriusXM on Model Y

I think if they actually offered in on the 3/Y, they would HAVE to do a better job with each OS release. Perhaps this is why they haven't done it, they don't want to... There would be too many customers upset, S/X ownership numbers are so much smaller than 3/Y. But, either way, they actually...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

I think for most people streaming would be adequate for their daily lives... I think an SXM tuner is better, but for most Tesla owners, they could survive without it. It would just require being ok with switching to BT audio on your phone or on USB storage when out of cellular range. But for...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

There are areas where I would lose cell service on my commute home from Brooklyn to Long Island... I 100% would lose SXM streaming at about three spots (depending on speed, in traffic it cuts out longer)). Having integrated SXM in the TMY now, I lose audio significantly less (only if I am...

3rd row seats down gap filler

Oh sorry. Yes, I did install a retractable cargo cover. I do like it, but I don’t use it anymore. I now have 20% ceramic tint on all windows, so anyone walking by can’t see in, even with a flashlight. I also have windshield protection film on the outside of the triangle windows. It is...

3rd row seats down gap filler

This is the cargo mats I have in my 7-seater. I am happy with it, it is rigid, I would say the only improvement I would want is a more rubberized texture. It is a bit slippery when wet, and cargo will slide around. For the price, and the completeness, I can’t complain. I got 2 large non-skid...

Antifungal spray for cabin air filter

Do you do anything different now? For the first few months of owning my used TM3, I didn’t realize the prev owner never changed the filters. The reason was I always precondition before I drive. I only noticed it when I would get in without the ac/heat running first.

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Just FYI. I’ve been on 2023.44.5.1 since Friday. Today I went for a drive and I’d say 60% of my favorites are no longer showing in favorites. If I go to all channels, all the channels are available. Those that were on my favorites show as already on my favorites when I tune into the channel...

    When to Replace 12v?

I bought a used from Tesla 2019 TM3 and 2021 TMY this year. I had both 12V batteries preemptively changed. The price of the Lead Acid battery is just too cheap to risk being stranded. I have a 2 year old that commutes with me to work (his daycare is at my job) I’m not going to get stranded...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

My regular go to is Syosset, but they do not take deliveries (or they didn't when I got mine two this year). They know me there, and always do a fantastic job of taking care of me. Tesla is opening a Westbury location (even closer to me) that is HUGE. But since I work in BK, and you know this...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

I bought my 2019 TMY back in January from the Brooklyn SC... That was fun. I picked my 2021 TMY in May from Smithtown, that was much easier.

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Glad you got it all worked out, eventually. My mobile service appointment for this Friday 12/22 got pushed to 1/2 for lack of parts... I live in Long Island, and work in Brooklyn, so the Brooklyn SC is performing the job while in my work parking lot.

Im not sure how to help, I have no more cutouts than any other OEM system. I get a slight cutout when going under bridges and tunnels. I have the same setup as you with the 3D mounted antenna in the same location. The only difference with my last OEM system in my 2015 Ram with 8.4” U-Connect...

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

I like the powered feature, mainly because if you are away, you can open AND close it. Having the ability to open it remotely puts someone in a potential situation they are away and accentually/inadvertently open it and then not be able to close it. I would love to have an OEM powered fronk...
